I use a wooden skewer to transfer seeds to the cells. Some people use toothpicks but I prefer the extra length of the wooden skewers and you can find a package of them in the grocery store and have a supply for the future.
I was watching a different seed starting video from a flower farmer. She was using a toothpick, wetting the end of it, and using it to pick up small seeds and get them to stay on the soil. Makes sense so I am going to try that. I always have the problem of the seed and soil sticking to my fingers and I have no idea if I removed the tiny seed or displaced it. Let me know if you have tried this approach and it worked for you. Stay warm - I am enjoying the snow flurries falling in DFW today. NOT ice though!
Hi Amanda! Coming from zone 9b low AZ desert! I LOVE those planting kits! So far I have 25 of them! They are made very well! I am starting so many plants for my new business AnnieJoe's Plants, and I can put so many of them under lights in my grow room on my shelves! I love your videos! Thank you!
I haven’t grown cleome in years. The ones I grew threw tons of seeds and I had trouble keeping them in check year after year. Some that you buy from the nursery are sterile so this isn’t an issue.
The cleome looks beautiful looking forward to seeing them in your garden ❤ also what grow lights would you recommend where you don’t have to have the seeds close to the light?
Did Bells of Ireland in winter sowing jugs in my 6a/7b garden. They were beautiful. Seeds from Renee Garden. Going to try Cleone this year. 💐💐💐
I'm so glad to hear they worked for you! Cleome is so much fun. I'm excited for you!
Thank you. 👋
You are such a good teacher! Thank you 😊
You are very welcome!
Hope you do a video of snow Thx
That is a great idea!
Love Cleome 😊
💚💚💚
I enjoy all of your seed starting videos! Thanks! Saying hi from a cold and snowy Sweden, zone 5 - 6 garden 🙂
Hello over there in Sweden!!!

I'm going to have to try that! I have used toothpicks and tweezers but skewers sounds much easier.
💐💖 I love both of these flowers...also nigella!
Me too! I love the frilly blooms on Nigella, they are so delicate.
Thanks for all your info! I hope y’all enjoy your snow. A tiny bit jealous here in Houston…💐
It’s lovely to watch ❄️
Starting cleome today. Thanks for the tips!
Have fun!
7:10 pet peeve of mine. In the garbage they go! 😅
Drives me crazy!

That's a great tip! Someone above also suggested a bamboo skewer as it’s longer and doesn’t cramp your hand.
Thank you!
You’re welcome!

Mine have never reseeded but I will definitely keep an eye out for that! Thanks for letting me know!

No matter what grow light you use, the seeds will always need to be within 4-6 inches of the light.

I am doing Bells of Ireland this year. Live near Hershey Pa so a little early to start here
It is a great choice for the garden!

Bought clone seeds last year but never started them. Anxious to try them this year. So should I pre chill and soak?
I would at least soak them!
