How many guys buy a brand new zero mileage and its back in the service bay for problems. Buying cheap is a good way to start. In my first year I bought two dogs, hardly lost much money, worked them nearly to death. Gradually upgraded to buying two year old vehicles, kept them between one and two years. The biggest loss is in the first two years. The rule is to never fall in love with machinery, they have a job to do, you get just as much time out whatever you buy.
Type Ritchie bros, Taylor Martin auctions, they even have auctions on truck paper. When you search for trucks on truck paper. They usually have the auction trucks at the top of the search. Hope that helps.
I am truly very happy for you Brother! Great purchase! I was saddened to see you have to get off the road, but CONGRATULATIONS!👏👏👏 Way to make a comeback!!!
This truck was an impulse buy from the auction. It was a 2018 with auto trans with 629K on the dash. Thats why I was thinking how bad could it be? Thats the only reason why I bought it hahaha.
This one I have now has been outstanding so far. I will say that I dont have a history on this truck so I down know if the clutch has been replaced previously.
I wouldn’t recommend buying online right now. There are so many trucks available now that you get to pick and choose your way. So many Available. If you still set doing online only without looking at the truck personally. You TruckPaper which offer several auctions. You also have richiebros which holds several different auctions and Taylor Martin. Like I said tho. I wouldn’t suggest online auction right now without looking at the truck personally. Good luck out there.
You just needed to send the wire for the total amount and they gave me what the called a gate pass then when I got to the gate they were already expecting me. As far as having the truck on the road. Just your standard. Bill of sale along with insurance and logging device or papers.
Detroit doesn't get good fuel mileage at all...I have a 2014 T680 with ISX and I have a heavy foot & a13 speed manual with 7.4-7.6 I have buddies with Detroit 15's and for every tank they burn I have a solid qtr tank and we all have a pair of hundred gallon tanks ...but your rig looks nice
Thank you… The one box really kills the Detroit’s and if they need overhead the gas mileage goes don’t tremendous. But everything brand new or properly maintained that engine do really good with MPG. It’s good to hear you doing that with your rig. I’m hopeful with mine.
@pinoytrucking I met a guy in Baltimore with a Coronado with 100,000 miles and he wanted to get rid of it after putting a lot of $ in it trying to get better mpg
That’s terrible. I think a lot of it comes down to most people not understanding gear ratios, tire size, HP, torque, and watching your turbo boost. I’m not saying that guy with Coronado don’t understand that but when it all comes down to it. Knowing how to spec for the area you’re at. Makes the big difference when it comes to MPG. I know Detroits are one of the most fuel efficient engines on the road at the moment but under the wrong hands it could still perform horribly.
@pinoytrucking if you have an automatic that's not optimal even in a car a automatic won't get what a manual will with the same specs...and the same in a truck yes gear ratios make a difference but right now the average truck is a 450hp
Good question. The rates are actually just about average if you look at pre-pandemic numbers. As far as worth buying? It’s always a good time to buy I guess all depends on how you hustle. It’s a $800 billion industry can’t really too far wrong specially when trucks are cheap and you get to choose. I guess depending it’s based on how you want to allocate your investment.
I dont do cumaparts nor paccar everyone knows the true donkey of newer engines is the all mighty powerful DD16 rated at 625 hp i got one in my cascadia special order cuz they all come with the DD15 ive ran cummins in the past and through a rod thru the block and replaced engine and that one lost oil pressure while climbing and locked up at that moment i junked my 2017 pete and got my cascadia like just listen to that Cummins pistion slap they all come with from factory
I have a buddy that uses Cummins with his fleet and swears by it. I would agree with you tho. My last DD was a beast. I just hated the one box design. We’ll see how this holds up.
@pinoytrucking ever scr has a life span and they all go out at 600k miles regardless of no idle I already replaced mine for 9k but engine wise no problems the cummins the first month I had it src problems then after injector cups went out then after oil cooler and egr cooler went out my dd had 631k miles and no issues so far my dad ran one up to 1.6 mill and all original
Yeah I can see those DD engines get up that high. I know of one personally that are still doing 7+ on MPG with a 2.47 rears and almost 1 million miles.
@pinoytrucking the only problem I have with dd is the parts are nearly all on back order and cummins always somewhere to be found but I do like that Cummins turbos sound really good but I think maintenance has a lot to do with how long and how good an engine will last someone like for instance I got my truck with 380 miles on the dash new and since the day I picked it up the techs told me to do the intervals every 36,000 miles and to me that is insane I do my intervals every 12-14,000 and don't run the 10w-40 they want to use to thin when oil turns black that is SOOT/carbon being built up in the oil and what does the EGR do recuircit the exhaust Gases back into the crank case and that's how you clog the DPF and sensors
It maybe but I think it’s better than paying 60+ on a used truck. Auction trucks is not for everyone but I think it’s a goldmine if you don’t mind the little things.
Shifting at 1400ish and drops down to about 1000ish. The last two gears it’s where it I feel like it starts to lug. I don’t know how that’s gonna translate when loaded.
@@pinoytrucking how do I get a coaching call, I put in a proper 2 week notice today and they said clean out the truck! Tired of working for other people and getting the knife in my back, ready for that RB auction! Put me in coach!
I like that he feels happy with his purchase, especially since he’s an informed buyer and prepared to deal with any minor issues. Good job
That you and hopefully 🙏 not too much deeper.
@@pinoytruckingis it possible if I can get mc and dot no. Without buying truck ?

Thank you. I will be uploading constantly. I know most people want to see a truck on this channel not my pretty face all the time :-)

Hello, my friend; I wonder why you chose Kenworth instead of Freightliner, although you have driven it before and know everything about it
