I like the way Joel Salitin says it "if doctors get paid white collar salarys for saving peoples lives why shouldn't farmers get paid white collar salarys for keeping people healthy"
Thats a pretty ignorant statement to follow. If farmers were paid white collar salaries similar to doctors, the public would have to take a loan out every time we needed to purchase food. Also last I checked there isn't any insurance that covers people buying food. Doctors get paid what they do because of the risk and skill level involved with operating on a direct physical human being whose life is on the line. Farmers are definitely very important however let's be realistic.
Great video...I have BEEN to that Hannfords in Middlebury! (Ohio here). We stayed at the inn in E. Middlebury while driving thru. We are currently considering Raw Milk from a farmer about 30 mins from us and exploring the details on it, processing etc...
When inflation and pandemic hit, a few people started getting raw milk from me. When milk was $6/gallon for pasturized milk in the store, I was selling and still am selling at $3/gallon.
I would pay 20 a gallon without a second thought! I live in North Dakota and we have very few dairy farmers anymore. One of my friends parents did dairy farming for many years but when expenses exceeds profit you have to shut down. It's been many years since they have done dairy farming. We have alot of cattle in the state but no dairy.
$8.50 a gallon put raw milk on a hopefully someday wish list for me.

Alot of the farms use flash freezing which does the same thing as pasterization.
At 165F you have to leave it at that temperature for 15 seconds and at 145F you leave it for 30 minutes.

I buy fresh Raw milk and boil, it bursts all the time. But in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand, China does not happens. Instead it reduces in quantity depending upon how long you boil. Over there the cows are pastured raised and grass fed. Your help shall be highly appreciated.

Pasteurized is way cheaper and safer
Cheaper, not safer. It's cooked to kill what's alive in it, good and bad. Unpasteurized milk from healthy cows has bacteria which protect it from pathogens. It sours but doesn't go bad. Can be used in many ways and enhances gut health. Pasteurized milk which spoils is good for nothing. Wouldn't give it to my chickens.
