Why are farmers going out of business? In 1934, some 5.2 million dairy farms dotted America's countryside. Since that peak, a noticeable decline has ensued. Today, fewer than 28,000 licensed dairy herds remain. On top of that, The average American dairy turned a profit only twice in the past two decades despite milk production rising by almost 40%, according to analysis by Food and Water Watch....

I think you missed one major thing: PRICE. While organic milk is nice, it costs almost double the price of regular milk. . . . I think price should be a consideration for people when buying milk. Conventional Milk is currently $5 a gallon where I live (in 2024). Organic milk is almost $9 dollars a gallon. That's a very big jump.

This was brilliant, Jerry is a man after my own heart, well worth paying attention from start to finish, I could talk to this guy all day. An example I have, when I purchased my property there was a smelly weed that grew in the summer when all else was dry. my wife was very allergic to it , so I sprayed each year for 10 years trying to reduce or eliminate it, with no success. Five years ago I realized how harmful the chemicals are so stopped all. Eventually through a miracle 3 years ago, we were able to fully fence the property and stock it with sheep and cows, this year is the first summer that none of this weed appeared, or if it did we did not notice. the amazing design is all around us we can learn a lot from, when the student is ready the teacher is sent. I must say appreciating this design is far more fulfilling and rewarding. Thank you for putting this video together and thanks to jerry for taking the time to convey his wisdom, its much needed.

Should pass a law that if you can't milk your own cows and crop alone or with your immediate family or friend, then your too big. 30 years ago, you could make a living on milking 20-30 cows. I ws milking 60 when the milk plant dropped me. Milk price is $12/100lbs less today than 10 years ago. Small dairies can't make it with all the inflation and over priced low quality crap that breaks more often with less money. Soon, it will all be a few huge dairies. The milk plants will be hsppy because they will have so much money, they will only think of getting more. When the next pandemic hits, or major damaging storm, or possibly EMP/solar storm/attack, they will jack the prices even more because it will affect a major percentage of production and distribution.

I think I ruined it by doing that.. AND leaving all the cream in it. And shaking it a bunch of times. It also sat in the fridge for 8 days before I took it out and countered it..🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm brand new and have no idea what I'm doing😭 Even the last part of this video, I don't know what you're saying.. scooping the curds off? Are the curds the milk? Or the cream on top? -For a half an hour... Is the result of doing that about what you're scooping off and making something with that?.. or about what's left behind..
