Cool design -i can't think of anything other than the amptweaker overdrive and dead world dx that has a built in gate-dont like the bathomet grapphic though
This is where we disagree. I think tube screamers are only good on Fender and Mesa style amps. That being said I think they are pretty terrible at the least. My favorite "green pedal" has always been the Nobels ODR-1. It kicks the shit outta any TS. It's not a TS and that's probably why it's so fantastic. It's not just for Nashville players. It just makes your amp more. Unlike a TS. TS just makes your amp flubbier and fills in the missing mids and if you aren't missing mids it's going to make your amp sound like a $20 pawn shop practice amp. If I need a boost on any of my amps that's the pedal I go for first. Second would be a klon. All I gotta say is so does Hetfield. And then I'd say I'd use almost any overdrive, distortion or fuzz before I'd use a TS. One of my favorites is stacked RAT's. Multiple RAT's together on low gain are amazing. The other MVP is the DS-1! That pedal should be $5,000 not a klon. Sorry. I think your pedal sounds like shit. Cool graphics, cool name. Sounds looser than Lindsey Graham's asshole. Go buy an ODR-1. Thank me later.
Sounds like you’re very biased, and calling someone’s hard work “shit” isn’t really helping reinforce your opinion. Just because a big name like James Hetfield uses a Klon doesn’t make that stupid ass price tag more justifiable.
@BOATIE141 never said anyone should buy a Klon Centaur. I actually prefer the Wampler or EHX Soul Food more. Not discounting the work. I just think Tube Screamers suck ass. The fact that there were so many apologies about the amps and mismatch kinda validates my point. TS is good for one sound and one sound only and that's trying to nail the SRV tone. Think about the whole point of a TS, it's a giant mid range hump. Guess what sounds best in metal? NO MIDS! Especially in the 720-780hz. Cut those by 16db and you start getting monstrous tones. In metal I want more harmonic saturation not more mids. I especially want more harmonics at the 2nd and 3rd. That's why we all like tape saturation and tube saturation. Those are especially good at amplifying the 2nd and 3rd harmonics. That's why I say ANY overdrive, distortion or fuzz is better than a TS. It's literally the worst. But hey to each their own.
Hey Taylor, I really want one of these pedals but I’d like to know how this holds up with a 7 string in drop g. I have a hard time getting clarity out of any other overdrive except a 33 style boost. I run a Mesa triple rec.
This pedal sounds like the Randall Satan in pedal form. Which is awesome, because I've always wanted to try that amp, and I'll be getting this for sure. Imagine putting it in front of a Randall Satan. 👀
How do you think this pedal would do with my setup? I use a Randall Thrasher 120W with a Mesa Roadking 4x12 (2x V30 and 2x C90). I play mostly Death Metal. I am quite new with real amps, and the thrasher, while very good sounding, I think needs something to push it a bit. I don't know if you have any experience with this setup :)
So far you’re being very serious and speaking tech jargon. It’s scaring me. But sold! At one point in life will we reach a boost where we can’t boost anymore! I actually did like your information in the beginning as well. You should give some church bands these pedals. Everyone needs some boost/devil in their lives.
My favorite OD is a Black Arts Toneworks Black Forest but unfortunately it sounds like ass with active pickups. Amazing transistor based pedal for passive pickups but it hates buffered signals.
Not a fan of the actual devil myself, could I special order an unpainted one? It sounds awesome and I'd get one today if I didn't already own at least 20 different drive pedals Currently, I use an Electric Eye Mud Killer, a Horizon Precision Drive, an MXR M-77, a Maxon OD808, a TS-9 and a BOSS SD-1 Waza These are my main overdrives depending on which amp I'm using (Headfirst Alta, PWE Event Horizon, Bad Cat Lynx or Marshall 6100) I also have a Plumes, a Dirty Tree, an OCD and a bunch of other ones that just don't do it for my rigs I'm also not a fan of the noise gate on the Horizon, it cuts out too quickly and you can't turn it completely off

Cool design -i can't think of anything other than the amptweaker overdrive and dead world dx that has a built in gate-dont like the bathomet grapphic though
That's OK champ, there are other things out there for you! 💪
I need it ❤. I don’t have a noise gate so this is a win for me
💪💪💪
Killer pedal man congratulations on the launch. TS9 is god tier though 🤷♂️
it is! I had VERY high standards for this, but Daniel crushed it! plus… GATE 😂
Congratz!!!!!
I did! in this video 👀!
it’s definitely not a preamp pedal, but an OD meant for boosting high gain amps primarily!
@@TaylorDanley Oh shit, guess I hadn't gotten to that part yet! 😅
looks sick af🤘
Ohoh ! This is very interesting. I need something like this actually...
Preordered!
Everyone needs some boost/devil in their lives.
omfg, I know what my guitar wants for its birthday!
Level and tone at 1 and drive at 9 o’clock are my go to settings in front of mt2w
My favorite OD is a Black Arts Toneworks Black Forest but unfortunately it sounds like ass with active pickups. Amazing transistor based pedal for passive pickups but it hates buffered signals.
Are you selling any IRs from this most infernal of pedals? Cheers
@@mikefatz2514 I WILL be making some nam packs (and all the other platforms) YES. Just haven’t had time
Can’t make IRs from pedals and only speakers fyi
Lets fucking go bud.
That was literally my thought while clicking: "You made this?! Let's fucking go!".
Ha! I got those Kranks! I’ll have to bring one out.
My favorite was with the Engl amp gives me a nostalgia feeling
@@SlipperyDucky big same 💪
you made the maxon st9+ pro????
Whats your best pedal for bass guitar Metal doom grindcore
I wonder how this would sound through the peavey valve king
Can you make a version without the gate so it’s more affordable? anyways looks and sounds great!
Not a fan of the actual devil myself, could I special order an unpainted one?
It sounds awesome and I'd get one today if I didn't already own at least 20 different drive pedals
Currently, I use an Electric Eye Mud Killer, a Horizon Precision Drive, an MXR M-77, a Maxon OD808, a TS-9 and a BOSS SD-1 Waza
These are my main overdrives depending on which amp I'm using (Headfirst Alta, PWE Event Horizon, Bad Cat Lynx or Marshall 6100)
I also have a Plumes, a Dirty Tree, an OCD and a bunch of other ones that just don't do it for my rigs
I'm also not a fan of the noise gate on the Horizon, it cuts out too quickly and you can't turn it completely off
that thunder at 2:04 really got me
Awesome dude!
Thank you!!
Where is your guitar from? I dig the headstock (I’m a designer/ logo freak)
That looks and sounds sick. Whatever happened to your boomstick pedal?
It's sitting right next to me! This happened, and then Shea and I had to sit down and figure out how we are going to market it. (maybe cross brand?)
@@TaylorDanley hell yeah nice. I've been watching alot of your older videos too and I saw this and went huh where'd the other one go? But that's cool you're still working on it.
Looking forward to it \m/
ME TOO. We're so close 💪
I doubt it since its your own pedal, But is there any chance of a a Devil boosted Satan TONEX tone model?
The best boost is either a DOD BiFet Boost or a Metal Zone.
Metal zone is actually super sick... but honestly I think you can get a similar effect with this AND there's a built in gate 🤷♂️
