I had the honor of meeting the entire band on the October Rust tour. We hung out for about a half an hour after the show just talking shooting‘ shit about music. Such humble down to earth guys I truly believe we would’ve hung out longer if they didn’t have to get on the road and get to the next show. Peter is unbelievably humble and willing to answer any questions. RIP Peter
Met the band in the UK ‘97 I think. I cracked some jokes as I walked along the line eager to get to Peter but happy to get my albums signed by the others too. My English ‘humour’ wasn’t going down brilliantly, if I’m honest. I kept on glancing towards Pete, you couldn’t miss him, his black jeans covered legs splaying out under the table, his huge upper body, and, as I got nearer, that voice… like a melancholy freight train chuckling down the line. Finally it was my turn to have a few seconds with The Green Man. I’m a bloke, short hair, albeit wearing a black T-shirt with the word Pantera emblazoned across the front… not sure at that point I even knew the two bands were friends. “Hey, man…” “You’re probably happy to see I’m not pushing a copy of Playgirl across the desk…” He laughed, I’d sort’ve got through… I chuckled too but my higher pitched response to his own gravelly tone made me even more self conscious. The incredible thing was, he was self conscious too - this enormous man mountain was a little shy… vulnerable even. I hadn’t expected this, nor had I expected what was to come… “I have got that magazine though…” He continued scribbling on one of my album covers… “It was for my girlfriend, of course…” He pushed the sleeve back across the table towards me… I sensed the people to my left but I could feel this was a pivotal and important moment in my 26-year old life… “She left me!” He looked up, concerned emerald eyes burrowing into my soul. “She saw your, y’know…” “Really? It’s not all about…” “I’m only joking; man…” (I’m not certain I was) I glanced back down the line towards Josh. “You’re a ‘there’ keyboard player” - not sure why I said that… a friend had said something similar about the drums to Vinnie Paul and it went down well. This didn’t. If there’s stuff heavier than a lead balloon this was it. Pete noticed my discomfort… “Hey man, you want a picture?” “Yeah!” Of course I did… but I didn’t have a camera. (‘97…) The girl next to me motioned to her hand. It held one of those plastic things that looked more like the oversized content of a Christmas Cracker than something set to capture a unique moment in time. Even so, I smiled widely. Pete twisted himself and his chair to an angle and gestured to one of his long thighs. I protested for a second, worried my large-ish frame would crush my heroes’ slender leg… after all it had its work cut out helping carry that body around when he wasn’t seated. I gave in, sat on his lap like a human sized teddy bear and the shot was taken. The girl promised to send it to me. I chuckled again, stood, shook Peter’s hand one more time and finally allowed the rest of the queue to meet the main man. I did receive the photo a few weeks later in the mail. It’s somewhere here, in a box, safe… so safe I can’t even find it… but it’s here… a momento of better days, better people and a soul that will endure. Thanks, Pete! You were anything but ‘negative’…
Despite being a melancholic song, it feels very happy, full of tranquility and peace. (unlike other dark and depressive songs by Type O Negative). You can see that Peter was being happy in his last days, at peace with himself, after a stormy life.
There is definitely a mood here. I haven't only listened to them for a couple years , but I get a sliver of the emotions these veteran fans are feeling.
It's amazing how much I still listen to their music. All of the emotions are just as fresh all these years later, like listening to them again for the first time.

I was extremely fortunate to have seen Type O Negative live multiple times. I still remember the first time seeing them open for Danzig and was super hooked. I couldn't believe how big Peter was on stage. His appearance definitely felt intimidating to me at that time.
I found Type O Negative about 2 years ago. Changed my life. Watching old interviews with Peter made me feel at home. He was such an upstanding, guy. True gentleman in every sense of the word. I’ve been telling my wife that this is my all time favorite band. Hickey’s backing vocals and guitar playing (love the signature schecter), Mr. Silver tickling those keys, Johnny keeping that time and the former Sal as well. I know...
I know why
Did it give you pleasure to steal my soul?
Thank you
I had the honor of meeting the entire band on the October Rust tour.
2:40 - 3:30 gives me chills. That leave her alone and that distorted guitar just hits so right ✅️
There is definitely a mood here. I haven't only listened to them for a couple years , but I get a sliver of the emotions these veteran fans are feeling.
Awesome band with amazing vocals and fantastic guitarists and awesome drumming 🥁 🎤🎸🎸🎸🎸🎧🎵🎵🎵🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼🎼

Damn. What a classic. Rest easy Pete
a formidable swan song , for those highly talented guys !!!
Never forgotten...
Miss you Peter Steele. I was born on April 14th, but the year 1997. When I discovered he died on April 14th 2010, I was in shock.
I love Type o Negative. 🖤💚
I
Оставь её, я сказал.
Я? Я знаю почему...
Peter had one of the most amazing voices. What an incredible artist. I was glad to see them twice in concert. Type o has a special place in my heart and I always get emotional when hearing them.
We will never forget Peter Steele. We will never stop listening to Type 0 Negative. 🖤💚🖤💚
This song is like a sunset♥️
It's 2022 and I still miss him
What a voice. An orchestra of sound.
This song hurts me in ways i cannot describe. I miss so much of the past and i miss so many dead people.
🖤
So great to see so many fans of TON still listening to them
This band was so unique, I wish they were still around. RiP Peter.🙏🙏
Lyrics: September sun
September sun glowing golden hair
Now keep in mind son she was never there
October's rust bisecting black storm clouds
Only the deaf hear my silent shouts
Yet in the dark still he screams your name (Elizabeth!)
Nights living death with which rhymes insane
Ten years amassed para toda mi vida?
Lost man in time was his name Peter?
September sun rotted Flatbush porch
I would have run then had I known the cost
Autumnal rays turned your eyes to stone
Did it give you pleasure to steal my soul?
Yet in the dark, still he screams your name (Elizabeth!)
Nights living death with which rhymes insane
Ten years amassed para toda mi vida?
Lost man in time was his name Peter?
Leave her (leave her), leave her alone
I said leave her alone
Leave her (leave her), leave her alone
I said leave her alone, alone
Leave her (leave her), leave her alone
I said leave her alone
Leave her (leave her), leave her alone
I said leave her alone, alone, alone
Me, me, me, me, me?
I know why
Me, me, me, me, me?
I know why
Me, me, me, me, me?
I know why
Me, me, me, me, me?
I know...

My very first album was Dead Again, fell instantly in love with the band. R.I.P. Peter Steele.
When the sun shifts in the September sky and the rays give off that feeling of dread.
Type O season has arrived.

I was extremely fortunate to have seen Type O Negative live multiple times. I still remember the first time seeing them open for Danzig and was super hooked. I couldn't believe how big Peter was on stage. His appearance definitely felt intimidating to me at that time.
It"s always TON season🖤💚
Killing it with those backup vocals
might be kenny’s best tbh

I found Type O Negative about 2 years ago. Changed my life. Watching old interviews with Peter made me feel at home. He was such an upstanding, guy. True gentleman in every sense of the word. I’ve been telling my wife that this is my all time favorite band. Hickey’s backing vocals and guitar playing (love the signature schecter), Mr. Silver tickling those keys, Johnny keeping that time and the former Sal as well. Just one of those true once in a lifetime bands. I feel honored to have found them, truly honored. 🙏
I miss when music videos were epic and MTV mostly showed them all day
Can’t wait for October where I will be listening to nothing but Type O and other killer goth rock/metal bands
Paradise lost - Draconian Time ❤️
Me too.
We should be fortunate that men like peter existed who sang their hearts out! No fake ass pop sh*t. Just genuine music echoing straight from the soul.
This is been missing in the Internet, always remembering you, big green man.
One of the best bands I ever saw play live. Peter Steele was always captivating. October Rust changed my life and to this day I play it all the time 🖤🖤🖤

So many thoughts and memories with this. I love how it will be able to reach a new groups of listeners as a new launch. I watched an older version of this video a couple months ago. it's always been one of my favorite songs they released.
Been listening to a lot of type o recently.
