@@halfalligator6518 so I’ve been an outcast my whole life and when I heard this. It felt like I was listening to the outcast of the outcasts. And I related to it so much.
About a year ago, me and my hubby were arguing about something, out of nowhere we hear the sound of a piano/keyboard playing on the radio in the background. The fight stops dead in its tracks. We hear one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, we just stopped and listened. When the song is almost over me and hubby look at eachother lovingly, embrace eachother, and apologize for the rotten things we said. I use my phone to find out what were listening to, and that's how I became a TON fan and listening to this right now :) Also I found out about a month after finding this song that it's a good one to play during makeup sex (thinking about it now I should have known that already lol)
So many memories. takes me back to a specific time in my life. I actually got to see Type O Negative at a little club in Chicago. One of my favorite concerts I've been to.
Peter Steele, the iconic frontman of Type O Negative, was nothing short of mesmerizing. His deep, resonant voice had this haunting power that could move you from chills to awe in a single verse, embodying a darkness that was profound yet strangely comforting. Steele wasn’t just a singer; he was a force-looming at 6’8” with his jet-black hair and intense gaze, his presence was as commanding as his voice. He brought an element of poetry to metal, blending gothic themes with gritty realism, and his raw honesty about love, loss, and mortality set him apart from anyone else in the genre. Beyond the music, Peter was genuine, funny, and self-deprecating in a way that only made him more endearing. His lyrics were like windows into his soul-conflicted yet vulnerable, exploring everything from heartbreak to social issues with humor and irony. With songs like “Black No. 1” and “Christian Woman,” he created not just music but an atmosphere, transporting listeners into a world that was darkly romantic and undeniably captivating. Peter Steele’s voice, his charisma, his fearless openness, and his sheer presence are missed profoundly in the music world. He wasn’t just a performer; he was a true artist who left an indelible mark, reminding fans everywhere that there’s beauty in the dark and a strange comfort in the melancholy. His legacy lives on in every note, a testament to a man who was as unforgettable as the music he created.

This is one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. The album October Rust captures the feel and nostalgia of autumn and the sense of love, longing, nature and mysticism that this time of year brings. Peter Steele is a master lyricist, musician and mentor that is dearly missed.
TON is my band of choice when I'm depressed. It always cheers me up, makes me feel good and gives me strength to get back on my feet. Thanks Peter, we will always miss you!
What makes this song so magical to me is how he begins like an uber-confident sexual beast ready to take on his conquest.. then midway there's this eeirily beautiful guitar solo. then he does a 180 and catches you completely off gaurd with "am I good enough.. for you?" it crushes you the same way life crushes you. Totally bares his weak side.. incredibly brilliant. Can't believe it took me till 2022 to find this song. So glad I did.
It's my personal opinion (and I'm quite sure the opinions of countless others)that just about every single song these guys composed is a fuckin masterpiece!
2024 I’m 40 yrs old and I started pole dancing to this song when I was 18 yrs old. Obviously I don’t dance in a club anymore but I keep my pole in my living room and I still love dancing to this song like no one’s watching and I was 18 again 🖤🕊️✝️🤘 Jam forever! Amazing song
Type O Negative is the ishhh!! Still rock them, proudly, in 2018. Their music was mind blowing. I had never heard anything like them and to this day they cannot be duplicated, replicated. Their music was intense, powerful, haunting, soothing, entrancing. RIP Peter you were truly an innovative, magnanimous talent.
Can I just say? I appreciated the vocabulary used too describe how you feel about this song. Just refreshing to see intelligence is still out there. You must be a good woman.
I've never heard a song like this. It's indescribably beautiful, emotional, and touching, especially the coda: it sounds like a Vangelis melody. I'm so proud of Type O Negative and Peter to composed this masterpiece, since writing a love song in the metal genre is so difficult. It always turns to cheesy, but this track is an exception. Thank You for this song Guys, especially Peter. :)
This is honestly my first time fully listening to Type O Negative and I gotta say. I love this so much. Shit is beautiful and catchy. Peter Steele was a genius. RIP to this wonderful man.
+David Adams I personally love both, but connecting October Rust songs to Carnivore is incredibly misleading. They're two very different genres, even if Steele did both (and both are awesome).
I have to thank my brother in law for getting me into Type O Negative around 2006. This was one of the first songs I heard of theirs. Fantastic track. Soul had Barry White, Metal had Peter Steele
It's not often I can find a band that can make me laugh as often as they can make me tear up. Type O Negative are a band that was once in a lifetime. we'll never see another band like them.
Type o negative is a criminally underrated band. I saw them live in 2008 and I’ll never forget how atmospheric they were,Peters voice was like electric. He passed away not long after. I think 1 year or maybe two. Rest in power king,Thankyou for the soundtrack to my life.

Happy October, everybody. Even though this is my favorite song from my favorite album of all time and I'll jam it just as easily in July as I will October, it's now that time of the year where the spooks and specters come out and Peter's spirit lives on. My musical hero and truly my vote for the most beautiful song of all time. RIP Peter
The Paranormal Files (Official Channel) this song envelopes and resonates. Now, in may... but especially in october. I feel your every word. This song is everything.
On 2018 I spent 6 months inside my bedroom only leaving it for going to the bathroom. I didn't spend it alone. I had just discovered Type O Negative and was going through some battles inside. I got to know their famous songs to their early recordings. Like Frozen, Red Water, and some that I will only recall if I see their name or listen to it. Peter is good enough! Love from southern Brazil
Truly a great love song I played this song the first time I danced with my wife and 7 years later after marriage and children I still play this song and pull her up to me and slow dance with her just to see that look in her eyes thank you Peter you will be missed
Must agree with you there. All the fucking garbage pop and shitty music (shallow) "love songs" are a terrible joke in comparison. THIS is a real love song. ...Twisted as ol' Pete could sometimes be (though mostly in a comical way) he and the band really hit this one on the nail in every possible, passionate and genuine way possible. This is my favorite Type O Negative song of all, slightly rivaled by Christian Woman. But this one is in my opinion the best of all of them.

Hunh. I always thought he was echoing Pink Floyd and the line was "Your lips move, but I can't hear what you're saying". TIL. Well, that was only what, twenty-something years of being wrong? 🤣
Type O Negative is its own genre... there is nothing else like it and there never again will be. I'm ashamed of myself for not having discovered them sooner. Rest in Peace, Peter Steele.

The model in the music video for Type O Negative's "Love You To Death" is Angie Everhart. She is a model and actress who appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout her career. In the music video, she portrays the object of affection for the lead singer, Peter Steele.

Wow. If there was ever a perfect song to be introduced to a band you never heard before, this is it. What a ridiculously amazing work of art
Totally agree!!
Been listening since the 90s god take me back lol but seriously I miss this
I saw them a couple times, this song just reminds me of them playing in a small club in NYC in the 90s, classic.

For me it's their cover of Matchstick Men by status quo.
Peter isn't dead. Immortal forever. Share with your children, feed his immortality!

LYRICS
In her place one hundred candles burning
As salty sweat drips from her breast
Her hips move and I can feel what they're saying, swaying
They say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya, get ya, get...
Black lipstick stains her glass of red wine
I am your servant, may I light your cigarette?
Those lips smooth, yeah I can feel what you're saying, praying
They say the beast inside of me's gonna get ya, get ya, get...
I beg to serve, your wish is my law
Now close those eyes and let me love you to death
Shall I prove I mean what I'm saying, begging
I say the beast inside me's gonna get ya, get ya, get...
Let me love you too
Let me love you to death

I cry when I don't listen to this song in a long time. It's a musical pinnacle, a divine song wrote by a gods among men, Hail Type O!
About a year ago, me and my hubby were arguing about something, out of nowhere we hear the sound of a piano/keyboard playing on the radio in the background. The fight stops dead in its tracks. We hear one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard, we just stopped and listened. When the song is almost over me and hubby look at eachother lovingly, embrace eachother, and apologize for the rotten things we said. oh my youre so lucky
Just perfect.
I swear he also has fangs 😮

This is one of the most powerful songs I've ever heard. The album October Rust captures the feel and nostalgia of autumn and the sense of love, longing, nature and mysticism that this time of year brings. Peter Steele is a master lyricist, musician and mentor that is dearly missed.
Type O' is like a breath of fresh air and sad at the same time.
