John's knowledge of 70's / 80's race history is just amazing. So fun to listen to someone who knows his stuff!!!
I could listen to John geek out on Porsche history for hours.
Where is the Saab 900 turbo?😂 When I saw that car in the show I knew Jerry has good taste.
How do you not get Doug to fill in for John he’s like THE Porsche guru!
Then they’d have to pay him Doug is nothing but business lol
The Mexican Stig has no time for these sort of shenanigans
Doug like Doug Tabbutt
But my corvette is best corvette beat all porches
Doug said he isn't really a Porsche guy.. he just loves the Carrera GT
So much fun doing this one! Maybe, kinda my sweet spot. Looking forward to the next one Ed!
If you are in Monterey for Car Week come see me at the Premier Financial Booth at Concourso Italiano, the 408 Garage Booth at Exotics on Broadway, or the Lamborghini Club Serata Italiana tonight.
Have fun. If you see Ficarra, tell him he should make a video about the history of the martini 935. Would love to hear him on that. Only he could do it justice.
If you watch Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee where he drives his '73 Carrera with Seth Meyers. He calls it a "Dead guy car". He bought it from a dead guy, and it's not getting sold till he dies. Love it!
As someone who grew up in PCA and FCA (My grandmother is one of the ten oldest continuous PCA members and is the oldest continuous FCA member) i can tell you the word "Caretaker" is so much more appropriate than "Owner". A meticulous provenance of every Ferrari my grandparents owned is available online in under 20 seconds including competition history.
Great video
Fun fact about the "Dutch" Police 356, on the back it says "Polizei" which is German police. In Dutch it would be "Politie"
The Steve McQueen car losing its charm because of other older generation is negated by the car also being owned by Jerry Seinfeld.
That hit on Singer was brutal 😂😂😂
Love how John put the Gulf 917 book and the porsche '82 le mans poster in the background for this video. He clearly loved talking about these vintage porsche race cars.
The porsche 356C SC is from the German police (Polizei) if it would be Dutch it would have been "Politie".
I think it changed in time. There are photos. With Rijkspolitie on it.
if it was english it would be “Police”!
Jerry sometimes brought cars to Rennwerke Porsche Technicians in Westchester County, he was always walking around like people should know he's special and should treat him like it. A total Jirck. Ruined the show for me after the way he talked to us.
...and he is not really funny
He is. @@brianvincavage7626
The only reason Jerry Sinefeld made the comedians in cars getting coffee show was to write all of his car purchases off as business expenses.
Edit: I'm not calling him a crook, I would do the same in his position and I already do. Even as a small business owner you do the same thing, just on a different scale.
100%. It's a borderline tax scam. He writes them off, then leases them from the "company" that holds them at a severe overcharge. He's borderline crooked.
@@mikeytee1 Wealthy people have accountants who know how to take advantage of the tax code.
You can do the same….
And remember the age old Proverb.... "Don't hate the player... hate the game."
You'll act like writing a car off is making it a free purchase 😅
Don't blame him, blame the career politicians that right the tax codes that allow people to do the things they do. You could do it too if you wanted to.
@@mikeytee1it's not a scam if you're using the tax laws properly.
What? A weekend video??? How nice!!!!
It’s a shame you haven’t gotten to Scottie Kilmer’s fine collection.
5 rusted out Toyota Camrys?
The 996 GT3 was already narrow body, Ed 👀👀👀
That '73 RSR made my heart flutter. 😍 That's my dream car.
If my cars & coffee didn’t include the 908/03, I wouldn’t do it. the car slaps in every way and deserves all the praises.
Guys thanks for all the work and knowledge. And please take care this weekend and keep an eye on the storm while you’re at Monterey.
Always love John's back stage tours at the Canepa shop! 👌🏻
please do one for Jean-Pierre Krämer from JPPerformance. He is the biggest german car-influencer and has an insane collection.
The fact that he referenced the Targa Florio makes me happy. I love the history of the race. It’s fascinating! Also, it’s super fun to drive in Assetto Corsa!
Love your videos Ed, I wish I had awesome stories of cleaning dirt and polishing paint. Maybe the best story I have is Detailing about 30 Rolls-Royce and Bentleys in one week.
I don't know if the numbers were taking into account Seinfeld provenance or just what it would take to buy each in today's market.
Thanks for this, highly entertaining and I've been wondering about his collection contents since the 90s. And Shoshanna...but that's old tabloid gossip. Jerry certainly knows the classics!
My mind reels when I ponder the value of a Jerry car to the world's future auto collectors. Knowing his love of the marque and motorsports + his ethics has me thinking he's a very selective seller of his treasured collectibles. If he even ever sells them. Another unknown.
So thanks for the great episode. I just subbed and will be back. I've watched a couple before, but over a few years time. Continue to be impressed with the expert level knowledge and research. And great friendly dynamic between you two. 👍
Thanks again!
It’s weird to me that Jay owns 100 more cars than Jerry and they maintain the same gross value. Jerry seems to collect specific and very special where Jay collects very broadly. I prefer Jay’s style, personally.
Seinfelds 356 restorators made a mistake do, Politzei is German, in Dutch it’s Politie, this 356 said Politie on the front and Rijkspolitie (Highways patrol) on the back, the 356 was later replaced with 911 Targa’s witch we raced with our E12 M535i and beat, good old 80’s. Think Dutch police stopped using Porsche’s early 90’s. The 356 where white and the 911 had red white police livery, they used cabrio’s and later targa’s so they could stand up in the car and manage traffic, someone found a good excuse to use Porsches
Love this series!! Would you consider doing Bruce Canepa????
Awesome video! I have a distant memory of reading about the RSR - that it was so powerful it could lift the front wheels on a hard acceleration from dead stop. Wonder if there's any truth to that? And shouldn't you add that your totals are ONLY for what you've reviewed. Certainly he has more (a Carrera GT?, et. al.). Cheers!
The totals were for the whole collection, they were only going through a few of them in detail.
The 993 Mexico blue is documented to be the last 993 built by Porsche in early 1998.
Any time John is in a video you know its gonna be good!
I haven't enjoyed a vinwiki video this much for a long time. 😃 Of course I'm in love with Porsche!!!!! 😊
What collection should we appraise next?
The most iconic five cars of each brand. Ur welcome.w..can I get a Tshirt?
Nick Mason,
Jean Pierre Kraemer from JP Performance
85 M for a bunch of old porsches, what a nut. At least Jay Leno has a variety of cars. Meh it's his money, whatever makes him happy. You need to appraise the triple F collection
Holesome guys, and they own every good modern car
Ciao
Ralph Lauren
I can never tell if Ed is being cocky and bragging, or just has a load of passion. Either way id love to spend a day with him listening to his stories.
I'm pretty sure the best Porsche collection has Porsche itself from visiting their museum last yera when I got my GT3.
no mention of his original unrestored gmünd ? the best car by far in his collection IMO
964 RSR are the top Porches of the new generation mainly because EA's Need for Speed Series. Usually the best car in the games. In the game befores this last one was the best car ever with the 3.8 engine swap to it
I tried to find a video or article about Jerry's cars since he has such a large roster and keeps it mostly private. He must have some really profound pieces in his collection.
That type 2 is my favorite episode of the series with Michael Richards
Le Mans.... What a car guy movie. IIRC, it's 17 minutes from the start before the first unintelligible word is spoken in the pits to the driver. Before that it's just all car baby! I LOVE that movie. While Bullit gets all the glory as a great Steve McQueen car movie, it's Le Mans which gets the award!
Who else is here on a Saturday listening to the buttery voice of mr. ed?!
Bro?
“Hello, Wilbur”
Pause
favorite segment. never gets old
Ed. Where do you shop? You always have the classiest shirts.
The VW was a Porsche Service vehicle. That's why Jerry bought it. I couldn't read the name.
I have a 1980 931 turbo AKA the 924 turbo a true European authentic model and I love it it's my fourth child I've had it for twenty-two years 😁👍♥️
@VINwiki 4:57 the 993 has got to be 1995 or older when the 993's were introduced worldwide - given the fact that it doesn't have a basket-handle brake light (1995), I'd say that it's 96+
Wow. Maybe I haven’t watched Vinwiki in a little bit but, John looks great!
Had no idea Seinfeld was a car nut as well as a sneaker head! Brilliant!
The Porsche shown from the front is German (or maybe Swiss or Austrian), as it says "polizei", Dutch would be "politie".
This had to be Johns favorite appraisal so far
Love this series.
The 911 with the Brumos livery is iconic.
Where’s the Saab?😂
Don't care for Seinfeld's humor, but his taste in Porshe's is great. Stunning cars.
Yeah, he is not funny whatsoever, but his eye for cars is impeccable.
He is funny. Your sense of humor is just depressing. @@DMBVR4
@@svn5994 See! That was funnier than he has ever been💥
Please do a feature on the radical Porsche customs of the Eighties starting with the magnificent Gemballa Avalanche Porsche 930 and its sister the Gemballa Cyrrus, along with the legendary dp Porsche customs, etc. ✌🏻🇺🇸
Can someone point me in the direction of the vinwiki episode about the nasa ford gt? I can't find it but I remember it.
Ficarra is very knowledgable about the history of vehicles and is great to watch and listen to. This was much more enjoyable than appraisal videos that included the clown Temerian who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing.
You guys are missing his 991 speedster chassis #356. I have photos of It at Porsche south Hampton service a few months ago.
Keep up the great work and amazing content! 👏
The 356 Polizei Car is German not Dutch. It still has the Stuttgart license plate on the front.
My family owns a set of AMG rims from one of his cars 😅
I nailed all these valuations before you mentioned them!?! Which is awesome and sad...
I am happy that these cars exist and are cared for. I would love to have the money to make this happen.
Yes, he is a great comedian, told great jokes... living his awesome life.
But I work as a nurse...
Most people don’t know this but there was a full need for speed game just about Porsches. Second car is the first car you drive if I remember correctly. It’s called need for speed Porsches unleashed
He also has a 2023 blue Chevy Zr2 blown lt4 pickup.
Look at the Collection 1 in Bahrain. It may possibly be the craziest collection.
I wish you coulda grabbed Doug for to fill in for John this vid, the Porsche Expert, the Corvette Curmudgeon, hes the man for the job 👍
The way your shirt was sitting I could have sworn you had a macaroni necklace on.
No 911 R? that's probably one of the rarest 911 of all..
Best description of the movie, LeMans. So true. Lousy script but great visuals and audio.
Great commentary on the collection
“Maybe we’ll see Jerry with manual lambos in his garage someday” lol
Should have added the typical Seinfeld laugh track in the most inappropriate places.
nice, I love this series
Great video! What’s the deal with cornering in a 911?!??? You lift, it slides!
A very similar car with the same Steve McQueen pedigree (winning car in "LeMans") failed to sell at 2021 Monterey at 16-18.5 million.
JerrySeinfeld's all-Porsche car collection is equivalent to making out during Schindler's List.
Should have had a celebrity guest appearance like Doug or Tyler
John was built to appraise this collection
John really loves the Porsches
Thanks for sharing
Hey ed hope you get to drive your mercialgo soon
Seinfeld WILL be on your channel one day. We cannot wait to hear some of his stories.
To bad jerry Seinfeld is a hole in person and probably will never do the show
Polizei is German, so it's not a Dutch police Porsche. Those have different liveries.
Could also be swiss or Austrian, they also speak German (I honestly don't know if they ever had Porsche police cars though)
Het was een rijkspolitie auto maar ze hebben de stickers veranderd. Er zijn foto's van deze porsche met rijkspolitie
Anyone else see the irony in the fact that a Jewish guy’s favorite thing is an object created by someone that served in the SS?
No mention of the Gmund?
Dutch police car With polizei on the back? 😂
RIP comedians in cars. I loved it!
Ed just rolling over on all the values 😂 like have your own opinion
Jerrys good taste in cars has multiplied his net worth.
Is there a Jerry Seinfeld premium because he's the owner when evaluating his collection?
Of course there is.
The 964 was the last Porsche you had to drive. No launch control and a manual 🏁🏁🏁
You guys need to do Micahel Fux
Do an appraisal of david lee’s collection
Hey guys he also owns the first 911 ever made he show it off to Jay Leno in his episode of cars and coffee
Ah 720p we meet again.
I may have driven Jerry's 959. Definitely yes if it was imported initially by Holbert
The 356 is a German police car not a Dutch one or Jerry changed the stickers...❤ like your videos
One thing I would like to add about Jerry, is that for someone who is so famous, he is also very humble and I love that about him. He also has one of the coolest collection of car’s. Great video guys and keep up the hard work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!😊
Actually, my mother worked for him for 16+ years (accounting/legal office, until a year ago when she joined a different legal office as a partner) and he's well known for being extremely self absorbed. My mother has 9 years of college in a specialty degree, and he would talk to her like she was a maid that showed up late for work, and it was always hard on her or at least extremely disappointing, so much so that it shadowed the joy and pride of having someone famous/rich as a client. He thinks he is better than anyone else, and his wife is 5 times worse. His cars are all a tax write-off, with ownership held in a separate company, he's extremely cheap but the attitude was the part that was so disappointing, even to my mother who is an extremely well respected professional in her field (top 3 in NYC).
@@mikeytee1 a billionaire celeb what do you expect
Ive heard he has one of EVERY single porsche model ever made. He also has one the rarest porsches carerra speedster. Only mr porsche himself has one ive heard
