That is so cool! We love watching birds on our feeder too! My 8 year old always looks them up on the Audubon app. But our bird feeder doesn’t have a camera! So neat!
There are a few things I like about your feeder as opposed to thre version I got. On mine, instead of the top coming off, they put a screwed in piece of plastic on the top so to add feed you almost have to take it down. I also have to look at mine the next time I need to fill it since it didn't seem like I could turn the camera down far enough to get it out. I just tilted mine to charge the battery and then back up. I'm hoping mine works like yours. One thing about using the screws to hold the bracket to your fence. If you do that, the brackets is permanent, unless you unscrew it. It will also require you to put that plastic piece on the bottom after you've put the cage on the bracket. That is a bit of an adventure. i put mine in a tree. The strap they provided was okay, but I couldn't get it tight enough, so I bought a rachet strap that enabled me to get it plenty tight. It was leaning a bit because of the tree's shape that I fixed by getting a proper sized twig to get it level. I, of course, managed to lose the manual for the "how to's" before I got the feeder mounted, but I'm working my way thru. lol enjoy!
I havent had to do that at all since I installed this initially. Where I have this set up it gets tons of sun and it constantly recharges from the solar power.
I left my similar bird feeder out in the rain, and the lid on top blew off! (Two birds actually got inside and had a fun time eating.) Now the inside of the feeder is wet with food. :-( I removed the camera and dumped out most of the food, but some is stuck. Any advice on cleaning? I don't want to get the solar parts wet, but maybe that's not an issue?
Yes it does need to be able to get a decent wifi signal. You can test out your signal with your phone in the location you want to ultimately place the bird feeder!
YES!!! I didn't realize I was this much of a bird watcher until I got this. Now I find myself going in the app at the end of each day and seeing who all my new little friends are :)
Oh no! One thing I learned is that it only identifies the bird when it is in real time. If you go and look at past time stamps with birds, it doesnt have the feature to search the kind of bird. Only when you are looking at the live feed. Hope this helps!
Find this smart bird feeder on Amazon here: linktw.in/QqWvsD
Thanks so much for sharing!!!

I found the Solium BF08 to be the best smart bird feeder. Metal construction & large food capacity. 👍🏻✌🏻

I do like that I didn't use the screws so that I can easily refill the bird seed. Such a fun little garden gadget! Thanks for your comments!
I can’t wait to get one! I’m curious, every time you walk near it does it notify you, or does it only get activated when birds are very close?
You can set the sensitivity level within the app and also set whether you want notifications of birds spotted or not. Hope this helps!
Thanks or your video. Under what circumstances do you remove the battery to recharge with the USB cable?
I havent had to do that at all since I installed this initially. Where I have this set up it gets tons of sun and it constantly recharges from the solar power.
Do you have to use a sd card. Do they work similar to ring doorbell in that you can watch videos throughout the day on iPad/iPhone. Thank you.
Sorry for the late reply! You can use an SD card but I never have. I can save photos and videos to my phone thru the app!
Can it work without a cell-phone? I do nor need or want a cell-phone. Good idea for a bird feeder
In order to use the app, you would have to have either a phone or a tablet in order to download the app.
Is there any way to get the camera to function on a 5Ghz WiFi?
My router is a dual band so I am not sure how to get it to function on a router that is just 5Ghz. I think mine auto selects the other band.

I would pick up some pipe cleaners at a craft store... that should allow you to get into the cracks and crevices.
Does it have to stay close to the house for wifi signal?
Yes it does need to be able to get a decent wifi signal. You can test out your signal with your phone in the location you want to ultimately place the bird feeder!
Now that you have had your camera for a couple of months, do you still like it?
YES!!! I didn't realize I was this much of a bird watcher until I got this. Now I find myself going in the app at the end of each day and seeing who all my new little friends are :)
How do you get the identifier to work? Mine has not worked once
