Frees was, and still is, my favorite voice actor. Nobody compared to him with his breadth of voices. From meek and mild to strong and powerful. He could read the alphabet and I'd be captivated. His voice was legendary.
Just finished reading a fine biography of him. Frees was an incredible voice artist, who could be instantly change his voice a number of times in just one sentence. Undoubtedly a giant in that field, and quite a character and eccentric man from what I read. Little known secret: Mr. Frees dubbed in the voice of "Josephine" for Tony Curtis in "Some Like it Hot"! This was kept a secret for ages.
I always loved Paul Frees' chilling voice throughout the Haunted Mansion, as well as these takes. Something I can't get enough of, and also get freaked out by- in a good way. It's almost like he came alive, to voice whoever manages to visit the Mansion.....if they dare. Bless you, Paul!
I was just watching Hardware Wars on youtube and heard Paul's voice and said, " isn't that the same guy who does Haunted Mansion?" Turns out it is. Paul Frees got all the cool voice over gigs back in the day.
Paul Frees (cartoon v/o) and Hal Riney (who did standard v/o for commercials....... Countrytime Lemonade and Alamo Car Rental), and political campaigns (like Reagan against Carter and Mondale) were my absolute favorites........ despite Riney professionally supporting Reagan and I have always been a die-hard Democrat...... Oh well, I guess I just love great V/O, huh??
Paul Frees was a terrific voice actor. R.I.P. Paul Frees, we'll miss you and your brilliant voice acting forever. 😭😭
Don’t cry because Paul died smile because he existed in the first place to bring us smiles and excitement.

Not just this, he's absolutely chilling in Pirates of the Carribean as well. "DEAD MEN... TELL... NO... Talesssssssss"

Turns out it is. Paul Frees got all the cool voice over gigs back in the day.
And he did that for free, just to help the young director out!
@@michaelklein5242 that’s very nice of him to do the narration for that to help them out and plus who’s better to that than Paul
Paul had that voice ! He was very talented
He and Vic Perrin (the Control Voice from the Outer Limits) had the greatest voices in film and TV.
Paul frees has to be one of the most talented voice actors along with Bill Scott R.I.P to the 2 of them
Paul Frees dominated animation voice-overs in the 1960's- same deal with Daws Butler!!!
What an amazing voice!!
Outstanding! Thank you so much for posting this.
He had a fabulous voice!!
I've heard many Peter Lorre imitations, but Paul's was definitely the best!
"I SAW THIS EYE! SO I REMOVED THE OTHER EYE! THAT EYE THAT KEPT WINKING AND BLINKING AT OTHER MEN!"
@@coopecb1
That’s from my old flame from 1947
@@coopecb1 That was the first thing that came to mind. I have that on a 78rpm (with nothing to play it on, lol).

Don’t forget Boris Badenov and Ludwig Von Drake.
Plus he is the voice of Santa in Frosty the Snowman.
One of Santa’s from the Christmas specials. The others are Mickey Rooney, Stan Francis, Ed Asner, Jim Cummings, Gary Chalk, and Earl Hammond

I remember the guy who voiced Tony the Tiger and Sheer Kahn’s singing voice also sang lead vocals in Grim Grinnin’Ghosts.
Thurl Ravenscroft
He also sang "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch." (George Sanders provided the "speaking" lines for Shere Khan.)
Awesome but shame no video of him actually recording it
Wasn't he the Burgermeister, Meisterburger from Santa Claus is coming to town?
Yes he was and a few other Rankin Bass productions, Little Drummer Boy and other Christmas specials
Paul Frees (cartoon v/o) and Hal Riney (who did standard v/o for commercials....... Are any of these actually used?
The same voice did Santa Claus in Frosty the Snowman
Yes and Paul Frees was called "man of a thousand voices"
Yeah, he used the ghost host voice for Santa Claus which is the last voice expected Santa to have
If Welles didn’t voice Unicron, Paul would of been a good alternative
Morrocco Mole
Guy was divorced 5 times. His marriages lasted like 2 years each.
