I would love if the director of this last Thor movie was George Miller. Sure, it can still have moments that feel silly, but if he were to do it similar to Furiosa or the original Mad Max, this could be something special
I hate when people (including Marvel reps) say that audiences didn't connect with the dramatic mythological take on Thor. The problem with those movies was they weren't great movies. People don't love Lord of the Rings and Game of Thornes because they're fantasy, but because they're GOOD fantasy.
One character I would love to see in the Thor 5, specially if it has more darker tone, is Jormungand, The Midgard Serpent. Besides the fact that having Thor meeting a giant snake would be pretty cool, it's presence would make total with the film being Thor's last ride, since, in the comics there's a prophecy that says that Jormungand will be Thor's last opponent and, after their battle, the god of thunder would walk nine steps before dying from wounds carrying its deadly venom. Since the last Thor films were about he dealing with loss and fear of losing those close to him, it would make sense for his last film to have Thor dealing with his own mortality and worries of how this will affect his friends and loved ones, what will he left for them (kind like Superman in Morrison's All Star Superman). However I don't think Jormungand should be the main villain but more of "neutral force", kind like The Wolf from Puss in Boots 2, this dark figure haunting Thor through the movie, making him wondering if this will be his final battle. The film could build up to the moment Thor is wounded and finally meet the Serpent. But, in a twist, the two wouldn't fight. There would a very emotional dialogue with Thor finally facing his fear of death and the Midgard Serpent chooses to let Thor live, telling he still has things to do before they face each other again.
This sounded amazing up until the last paragraph. I would absolutely love to see Thor fight the serpent. Maybe he doesn’t have to die doing it, but it would be super disappointing to build up this massive battle only for them to not do it. That’s blue balling the audience lol
@@akilbrazier1421 They could have a battle but in should end with Thor choosing to stop the fight, choosing to accept the Death (the serpent) as part of of life rather than keep fighting and denying his own mortality. It may not be what audience expect but would fit with Thor's theme in the films (specially his 1st, Ragnarok and his arc in IW and Endgame), that being a worthy hero isn't about being physically strong nor uncapable of being harm, it's about being humble and brave to accept flaws, loss and limitations of yourself and grow into something better.
There's no doubt in my mind that Thor 5 will have a LOT of damage control. Waititi has been sacked as the director, so they'll ditch Korg and the other co-stars introduced in Ragnarok. My theory is that, although it'll likely happen in either Avengers 5 or Secret Wars, Thor will reunite with Loki. Separating the pair wasn’t so bad during Infinity War and Endgame, but only because Thor was with the Avengers and Guardians. Come Love and Thunder and you can see how Thor struggles on his own. Here's what irritates me, though. Love and Thunder would have been a fun adventure, had the Guardians stayed with Thor, and if Korg had stayed in New Asgard with Valkyrie. All parties should have gone their separate ways at the end of the movie. I personally would have given Star-Lord and Drax the biggest roles out of the Guardians. Star-Lord would have paralleled Jane through losing his mother to cancer and Gorr because he gave up his powers after he killed Ego. Drax would have paralleled Gorr because both men lost their families to greater powers. But I'm getting sidetracked. Thor 5 will do away with Waititi's development to give us a moodier take with sprinklings of levity to avoid an overly bleak tone. The only remnant of Love and Thunder will be Zeus' vendetta against Thor.
He still has potential to be one of the best written mcu characters. Just get a good director. Tbh fans are the reason why he is turned into a joke. I still remember i'm one of few who really liked Thor in his first 4 appearances. Many hated him. But now everyone wants the old Thor back
I think going back to the “old Thor” like a lot of people want is a step in the wrong direction and would go back on his development, they really just need a good director and everyone’s fears will go away
I think the perfect pitch for Thor 5 could be kinda combined of your ideas. It can be the introduction of Galactus in the MCU. Put there Beta Ray Bill story with him protecting his species’ refugee ship, when Thor with Love came along as they help people across the universe, they come to know about Galactus threat, and trying to save some planet or even Earth. And as the side story they can add Hercules as the arrogant young god as Thor himself was in the first movie. He attacks Thor and Love throughout the story and help them in the end fight. During this story Thor can become like a mentor figure for young Hercules showing his growth over time.
Honestly at this point if the soft reboot thing is true for the mcu post secret wars than Thor 5 should realistically be the conclusion to Thors character and than after secret wars we have a new Thor
I do like that pitch with Beta Ray Bill, that would be cool to see. I did enjoy Love and Thunder and understand the criticisms people so have with it. I do agree darker can be good and let Thor just be a dad! We shall see where we go with him.

I love this idea for the next Thor movie but personally, I want 2 more. One for Hercules (Chaos War is a brilliant idea), and one last one post Secret Wars for Jormungandr. I want Thor’s send off to be him vs Galactus though in a future Avengers movie
Siege. I think with what they’ve been setting up with the political street level they are doing a dark reign devil reign mash up and Thor 5 should be Siege. Directed by Sam Hargrave
I’m a DC fan but if I did a Thor 5 movie I would call it “MIghty Thor” and it would heavily be inspired by the God of War games from Santamonica and other comics thrown in there.
Actually Hulk is still around but he’s not the same Thor 5 needs to make Thor become king of Asgard rebuild Asgard on a new planet Loki returns and they can introduce beta ray bill on one of those planets and Hercules being the main villain or someone else maybe but they definitely have The Russo Brothers or Bad Boys ride or die directors to direct this Thor 5 film Valkyrie should return for this movie as well I think having Thor take care of that little girl is stupid he’s never been the type to mentor or even be a father figure having Thor be that God/Human/solo type of hero is the best part knowing Marvel and what they’ve been putting out they will try to replace Thor

Love and thunder was so bad. They really messed up thors arc in endgame, and nuked him in L&T. Made him into a extremely stupid moron and someone who forgot all the things they learned in the last 10 years.
