Some bands have replaced a Singer and carried on, there is no replacing Chris Cornell. There is no Soundgarden without him, Chris we miss you. A true vocal Legend.
I think what was even less replaceable was his songwriting in soundgarden, he was the primary songwriter, you can’t ever replace that. It’s why AIC was able to replace Layne and still be a good band and that’s because Jerry wrote most of the music, helps that Jerry could also sing and became the frontman for post Layne AIC. At the end of the day Cornell is completely Irreplaceable in soundgarden, you could prob find someone who could do a solid job singing the songs but you will never find someone who can sing like him and write songs like that.
@@rajbroh4334 the music is not a competition or a sport, the music is an art, beauty, passion, who fuckin cares who is better, maybe Beetoveen was better musician than these, but that is not important, the important thing is if a musician touch your heart and emotions or not, not a competition
Those damn drums in the beginning are crushing! Such an amazingly huge sound from Soundgarden, and of course, the great Chris Cornell! Rest easy man. Thank you for putting your soul into your wonderful music. You will NEVER be forgotten!
my neighbor who is a guy and not gay, keeps getting on me about my long hair! it irks the shit out of me bro! the ladies dig it and thats what matters. just saw your post and thought i would vent. dude really irks me with it every fucking day!
My heart breaks at the loss of this talented, uniquely artistic musician. My prayers go out to his children, wife, family, friends, and many loved ones. And I will miss him too.
such a shame that there are so few live version of this song still surviving. nothing on Live On I-5, nothing on Artists Den, only videos on youtube (all but 2 of which recorded with a camera mic) such a massive song. needs more love.
When I try to sing this song... I literally look like I'm dying... and I still can't hit the goddamn high notes. Chris hits all the notes and looks bloody AWESOME whilst doing it.
This is what a mountain sings as it experiences a massive avalanche. RIP Chris Cornell, and true thanks to all of Soundgarden for bringing this energy to be.
Ben Shepherd looks so bad ass fucking cool, that bass is like a toy in his hands. He looks like he just got off a harley davidson from an outlaw motorcycle gang
This was the year I finally got to see them live. I was in the 12th row. The show was sold out but I got tickets just the day before because I left my phone number with the box office lady. Apparently the seats I got were seats that Chris Cornell had initially reserved for his family, yet he canceled those arrangements at the last moment. It remains the most indelible concert experience of my life.
This is their best performance since their reunion. Chris and Matt did a brilliant job of the vocals, the instruments were tight as nails. Fuck, there's never going to be a band as perfect as this again. All members insanely talented at writing and performing their music.
Saw them in Casalecchio di Reno - Italy, 25/09/96. They were huge. Did however a very good job (with Matt Chamberlain on drums) in Villafranca di Verona, July 2014.
excellent. I'm at work and this song was in my head. had to watch. love soundgarden. singing and playing guitar is so hard for me its amazing to watch such an artist like Chris that does it effortlessly yet with feeling. awesome.
Chris was awsome in all those bands and in solo. Both bands were 2 of my favourites bands of alltime. They had great names (and it's rare) with significant and simple meaning (thanks to Chris) and amazing songs that sounded like no one else. I would love your input on the first video of my first album. It got the attention of one of my heroes Joe Bouchard (ex bass player founding members of BÖC) who is following us on Soundcloud but returns from people who likes same music is always the best. If you have just 3 minutes to listen and a bit more to comment, that would mean the world to me. Keep rockin' : th-cam.com/video/YJqmsXd8QH4/w-d-xo.html&t
Loved Soundgarden as a teenager, finally got see Soundgarden; at northern invasion, three days later I heard on the radio Chris Cornell committed suicide, my rock hero was gone,RIP we love you,we miss you, and always play your music to remember you 😢🎙️🎸🎶😍🤘🤘🤘🤘
the songs are different, the drums plays different roles accordind the type of music and songs, Pearl Jam is more traditional grunge 4 x 4, with some exceptions, Soundgarden is more eclectic in therms of rythm patterns
as off time as the performance is at times he brings it hard with the full on high range and gives his hall. It's a wonder how he could keep his voice that long over live that long. Miss him to this day.
So I told my mom today who the top 5 vocalists are that have inspired me the most are. And the list is in no particular order. Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Robert Plant, Glen Campbell, Chris Cornell. And performances like this are the reason why Chris is in my top 5.
I think they sound better than they did back in the day. Chris has found his voice again, just like other singers of the genre such as plant - he´s voice has matured like a fine wine. God bless this band!!
i was at soundgarden's first show after the reunion in Toronto. . . . it was so nuts i was holding onto the fucking bars for my life. . . i guess i was dehydrated from waiting in line all day and was about to pass out. . . then ben shephard in the middle of black rain handed me orange gatorade. . . good guy that man.
I fucking love the people in this comment thread. The love and respect is real.
Here's to Chris, who got us all together.
After over 25 years of brutally challenging vocals, Chris Cornell still hasn't had to drop the key of any of their songs to perform them live
This is AMAZING!!! Not only not dropping it...but also, singing it to perfection!
+Adamo Fiscella Exactly, I love his Voice. I've often thought as a Bassist that I'd like to play under a Voice like his.
it's actually dropped by a half step here
Woooooow! Even if it is...that's higher then 99% of what any human being can sing!
I was shocked at how high he still gets for Beyond The Wheel. Insane for a man in his 50s
this song was the only reason I survived being a teenager, I love you chris
I feel that man. Just knowing that someone else out there got it....means a lot
I hear ya both
Live on , man.
🤗🤗🤗❤️
hope ur doin better man
Some bands have replaced a Singer and carried on, there is no replacing Chris Cornell. There is no Soundgarden without him, Chris we miss you. A true vocal Legend.
so true, i cant deny that..., good point..
That is true. His sound was synonymous with the band. Can't be done
I agree
Very very true.

Soundgarden one of the best bands ever.
Icons!!
TRAV STAR I for one, second your proposal.
Definitely
My second fav band ever. Best grunge band easy. RIP Chris
Alice and sound are top tier. A garage to over 500,000, people
Love you forever, Chris. Thanks for saving my life.
Matt Cameron's drums always, ALWAYS sound so good.
Trevor Jalla he, vinnie collaiuta, and Dave Grohl are the best ..for me
RajBro H that’s a good list right there
Lars might disagree hahahaha!

Crazy performance

I was literally just about to make a comment about how thunderous those drums sounded, fuck it I'm still going to
Matt was perfect for soundgarden.. not so much for PJ .
Never will ever forget him. So sad hes gone😢
Greatest singer of all time!!!
Chris, Colonel was also a really good sous chef at rays boat house in Seattle WA, but his first job was a deck brusher
Sammy Hagar is #1. Cornell comes in around 5th after Greg Lake, Paul McCartney, Burton Cummings, Jim Morrison
Pure stud, sings like a warlock; unreal, plays the guitar, and has long hair like every real rock star should.
This comment is godly. Rock on brother.
***** Thanks bro
cant stop syin' bro,bro!! ha-ha

But now has sadly gone... R.I.P Chris Cornell
Matts so much better in this band than Pearl Jam. More appropriate.
Different bands, different approaches
It's association. You associate Matt with PJ, as do I, but not getting into PJ drummer a debate. Have a good one pal.
I don't think matt agree it now,
@@PrinceTMATHEW c
I have always thought this too
Miss this guy. I feel his pain. Going undiagnosed bi-polar for many years and still struggling, I can relate. See you on the other side.
Bipolar-He lived at the North and South poles 👽
take me back to 1994..when I was fourteen, and first heard this song...memories..goosebumps! the 90's will live forever!
Exactly!! RIP BROTHER!!!
Same here Bro
Exactly 💯 same man. God what an era
I was 4 then lol but I started listening to these bands in the early 2000s , I will forever be grunge!
Matt really filled those backing vocals nicely. Wow....what a band.
RIP Soundgarden.
My heart breaks at the loss of this talented, uniquely artistic musician. My prayers go out to his children, wife, family, friends, and many loved ones. And I will miss him too.
This is 2012? Christ he sounds just as good as he did 20 years previously.
Dude's talent was something else
Matt's musical schizophrenia puzzles me, in PJ he is like the nicest guy around, and in SG he releases the beast
such a shame that there are so few live version of this song still surviving. nothing on Live On I-5, nothing on Artists Den, only videos on youtube (all but 2 of which recorded with a camera mic)
such a massive song. needs more love.
What’s the other, Hard Rock Calling?
When I try to sing this song... I literally look like I'm dying... and I still can't hit the goddamn high notes. Chris hits all the notes and looks bloody AWESOME whilst doing it.
This is what a mountain sings as it experiences a massive avalanche. RIP Chris Cornell, and true thanks to all of Soundgarden for bringing this energy to be.
Powerful drums!!!!!!!!
Irpanocca first thing I noticed was the difficulty of that drumming
aw. nobody gives love to AIC drummer Sean Kinney. The intro/rhythmn to No Excuses is SOOOOOHARD to play...
and bass
When Chris died his body went, but his soul will never die as long as we listen to his beautiful music...he became music that lives forever:-)
a perfect song by a perfect band with a perfect live mix, heavy with Matt Cameron laying it down dirty.
My life's anthem........
every day recently....
Mine as well
Ben Shepherd looks so bad ass fucking cool, that bass is like a toy in his hands. He looks like he just got off a harley davidson from an outlaw motorcycle gang
.. hardly visible tho 😢
Saw him in November 2013 sounded awesome sang three hours straight voice never strained. He never even took a drink of water !!! That's a pro
Matt Cameron is such an incredible drummer!
He was always such a gorgeous man. RIP
Listen to that fucking groove. Those vocals.
One of the best/greatest rockers ever, RIP Chris Cornell. Your music, memory, and legacy will live on forever.
He was nearly 50 here! His voice held up so well, he's one of my favorite rock singers of all time
This was the year I finally got to see them live. I was in the 12th row. The show was sold out but I got tickets just the day before because I left my phone number with the box office lady. Love Chris 😍
I love the drum in the first part of the song.
One of my favorite soundgarden songs that's for sure!
Matt is like a real beast in this performance... super hot! I think I not always have this feeling when watching lives by SG...
This is their best performance since their reunion. Chris and Matt did a brilliant job of the vocals, the instruments were tight as nails. Fuck, there's never going to be a band as perfect as this again. All members insanely talented at writing and performing their music.
Fackin love when the drums kick in at the start of this song, can listen to it on a constant loop! Miss you Chris!
Happy birthday, no one sings like you anymore
Jesus. What a live vocal. Jaw-dropping.
Saw them in Casalecchio di Reno - Italy, 25/09/96. They were huge.
Did however a very good job (with Matt Chamberlain on drums) in Villafranca di Verona, July 2014.
That drum loop is tiiiiight.
Those drums sound THUNDEROUS, right out the gate.
excellent. I'm at work and this song was in my head. had to watch. love soundgarden. singing and playing guitar is so hard for me its amazing to watch such an artist like Chris that does it effortlessly yet with feeling. awesome.
Rick Gray same fucking thing right now I’m at work and I just went on break and looked this song up because the song was in my head
knocked it out of the ball park with those guitar riffs and that voice only from the gods
3:51 the best vocal that i ever heard at this moment
Matt Cameron banging out fantastic backing
Bellissima e perfetta per il mio funerale.
Chris Cornell has gave my life back...
So many hard times..
So much hard feelings..
U will always living in my heart #Chris..We love u
he looks so good and healthy here. breaks my heart that he would be dead 5 years later. wish i could go back in time and just stop it.
Ah fuck what an absolutely stellar version this is. Can't believe he's gone.
My favorite Soundgarden song. The voice that no one would dare try to sing on karaoke, RIP CC.
Played this over and over again when I was getting clean, 9 years now, thanks Chris
💔 time machine to my youth. Thank you for the music 🎶
My God how I love Matt's playing.
OMG it's 2019 and this has been on earth for watching since 2012! I'm blessed to find it :)

Woww... I think Chris was really spot on physically and mentally when singin this song... totally nailed it. Superb as always...
Best Singer of Grunge's Band
That little vocal melody variation at the beginning of the outro chorus keeps me coming back to this version. What a genius.

This whole band just rocks. Glad I got hooked on them in te early 90s. Matt Cameron destroying those drums!
This man had a lot of great songs! RIP Chris Cornell.
The lyrics!

wish Matt's drums sounded like this in Pearl Jam
the songs are different, the drums plays different roles accordind the type of music and songs, Pearl Jam is more traditional grunge 4 x 4, with some exceptions, Soundgarden is more eclectic in therms of rythm patterns
Fuck, that drumming is wild. Chunky as fuck!
