In June 2016, legendary guitarist Ritchie Blackmore made his much-anticipated return to rock music as Ritchie Blackmore s Rainbow played three concerts in Europe, two in Germany and one in England. Recordings from the two German shows at Loreley and Bietigheim make up this live album Memories In Rock. The setlist, combining classic tracks from both Deep Purple and Rainbow, was exactly what the fans had wished for. The band played superbly and Ritchie Blackmore proved that he remains one of the finest guitarists of all time.

As sound enginer i'm agree with you, as many people i like better the "Made in Japan " because for my 12 birthday in 72 i received the double gold album and i have listen this version a few thousands of times. But i would like to understand from people who say that's a bab mix, what are there complaints, except that we have not the original band, thanks for your explanations.

Ritchie Blackmore is a fucking living legend, a rock god amongst fallen angels pretending to rock. Let's face it he's in his 70's now but, he's still got it, he may be waning and fraying around the edges just a little now, but he's earn't his stripes. A guitarist in a league all on his own with his own sound, tone, phrasing and a unique sense of melody. There's something magical about Blackmore's hands, he's one of a kind. And he's BRITISH!!!

I was there. Ritchie actually spoke several sentences into the microphone. Unfortunately, it had rained heavily before the concert, and continued to rain during it, and the logistics were bad with cars parked on a muddy field. But I was there. And I was there when Waters performed The Wall at the Wall.

And I found a mixture between Dio and Coverdale. Less like Ian Gillan....Coverdale and Dio.....and in one word - brillant!👍

This is as close as I've ever seen him play it live, and that's a lot of times
I'm just glad the mix sounds good on this. I cannot remember which concert from this I was listening to, but the mix was terrible. For some reason Ritchie's tone was hollow and empty, the keyboards were either silent or overbearing. This at least sounds like a balanced band.
I thought the mix was off through most of the song. This is a B-3/Leslie forward song - and he's in the background except for his solo. With Purple - that grinding undertone from Lord was what propelled that song and forced Blackmore to play so very cleanly to cut thru the curtain of (organ and drum) sound.

Blackmore byl i jest jednym z najlepszych rock gitarzystow - ever, ogladalem ich koncert, origynalny zespol (chyba ich ostatni wspolny koncert) z Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, John Lord, Ian Paice, Roger Glover.... w Polsce,rok 1994, miasto Zabrze :) -Byli jak zwykle profi i swietni !!!!!

Love this, love it, love it! Amazing sound of the band and the lead vocal, and Blackmore's tone is still epic, mystical and mysterious. He is in my all-time list of rock guitarists. He has a take on tone that is so recognizable like all the greats; Beck, Gary Moore, Page, Clapton, Gilmour, Peter Green, Rory Gallagher and others.

This singer has a good voice but it makes me appreciate Ian Gillan even more than I already did. I always thought Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord were the stars in Deep Purple, assisted by strong vocals from Gillan. But I'm sure missing Gillan's voice in this cover. Just a legendary line up for the "Machine Head" album.
