The apple watch is pretty huge for fitness conveniences. Monitoring my heart rate, blood oxygen levels, and having a mapped history of my runs have been fun additional metrics to keep track of. Additionally with the 41mm size, the slimmer profile and smaller wrist footprint have made it very comfortable to wear for weight lifting. With my previous 42mm series 3, I'd get a lot of rubbing against my hand due to the wider watch shape, but this new size really hasn't had any comfort issues at all.

Ive been using the regular apple watches for a while now. I really wanted to test out something different so I went with the SE 2nd gen.Tbh there nothing much of a difference I can notice except the display and absence of EKG functions. A budget watch with an S8 chip is really a good option for users who are not really into all the H -tech stuff the ultra or AW8 offers.

Thanks for the interesting post, Dion! We live in a wonderfully diverse time, where so many pros and cons can be adapted to the individual needs. I really LOVE the taptic engine and the sleep tracking on the Apple watch. This is counterbalanced by the abysmal battery life and that I basically hate the touchscreen input mostly being the only way of interaction with the watch. Using any Apple watch for sports is really tedious, as you cannot simply glance at the watch to check the progress, as the watch will go into screensaver mode while tracking. My solution is to go through your list, rate the feature for my needs and then check available smart watches for the best sweet spot. My current result is wearing a Garmin Fenix 7. It can be operated completely via buttons, has a 14+days battery life and I will live with the mediocre vibration motor and the subpar sleep tracking.

as for me I find apple watch to be useful in tracking how healthy I am. I felt bad if a whole week was spent without seeing the green ring being closed (activity/training ring). the workout route tracking are also cool to see your whole walk/running performance. it shows route you’re taking and pace you had, where you speed up, where you slow down, and average per km pace. I was injured and as I healed my hip my average per km pace got noticably better. heart rate tracking and notification are also great, no need to see your phone for notif, only lift your wrist and only pickup the phone for urgent notification.

I tired switching the galaxy watch for a whole week and I ended up going back to my apple watch. talking to it rather than pulling my phone out is a lot better because it actually works. Apple pay works faster than samsung pay on a watch and typing using swipe is great to use but i use text to speech so it gets my messages out correctly. Only thing I do have an issue and it's just me knit picking is I wish you could have custom notifications tones or ringtones, also I wish that you could use watch speaker to play music instead of having your watch play music through your phone. The coolest feature that I enjoy the most especially when I'm at work or out and about is the walkie talkie feature. Yeah the speaker is a little low when your in a crowd but using it when you don't want to send a text is awesome to use. I hope the next generation apple watch will have a little louder speaker for when yoiur outdoors.

00:08 Am curious... your three watches are presented with the Crown at lower left and the shorter buckled band away from the Crown. As a right-hander, is this the most comfortable way for left-handed people wear a watch?

I am considering paying the 70€ more for a cellular SE but I've heard that it drains more battery life when streaming stuff directly from the watch. I saw reviewers talking about Itunes being fine but what about third party music streaming services like spotify? 😔

Hi Dion! First time viewer and instant Fan! You made things interesting by comparing three Apple watches. Awesome! Which would be my pick? Extra battery life, more features and brighter screen, seems like the latest one wins. Q: Did you find the "two finger tap" feature on the latest Apple watch to work everytime? And do you recommend getting the Apple Extended Warranty? Thanks again! (PS... I hope I win the new iPhone!)

Honestly the sole fact that Watch is the only wearable to not mess up with phone notifications is enough of a reason to get one. And the second biggest reason for me personally is the fact that last couple of Watch generations are basically the most accurate smartwatch to track the heart rate. You can even manage to accurately track your calories based on that, with some trickery and adjustment.
