Great memories from FS 2004. It steered me into an aviation career and I couldn’t be happier. I used to love sitting on the ground listening to the AI traffic picking up their IFR clearances and wondering about all the different destinations they would fly to, specially the heavies. It felt so alive and dynamic.
funny how back then having nothing to compare it to and not knowing any different it was great! almost like our imagination just filled in the blanks and we were content with what was available at the time.
The sim that started it all for me back in high school of 2006. I'm now on FS2020 and expecting FS2024 on the horizon. What a time to be alive when FS9 released though, it was groundbreaking for the technology of the time, and I too remember preferring it for a while compared to FSX.
THIS was the sim that really solidified by future in aviation. I used to use FS since 3.0 but didn't take it seriously until this one, 15 years old I started learning all there was to payware aircraft systems/navigation etc on this platform. Years spent on this simulator, eventually started flying for real and then became a flight simulator technician. Best job ever. Working at United now, all thanks to this game. Sorry to make that mostly about me but this brings back memories. So glad to have come across your video.
Thanks for sharing! Lots of nostalgia in FS9. I always really enjoyed the way ATC voices sounded back then. That and the idea of a 2D panel that presented nearly the entire flight deck in one or two views. Its primative today but actually quite accessible to new simmers as there is less detail and cluttter in general.
This brings back so many memories! It's weird seeing The Shard in FS2004 thought! Crazy to think how we were all blown away by the graphics when this came out compared with what we have now. It's hard to imagine what we might have in another 20yrs!
No doubt this brings back fond memories :-) but Im glad to have left this behind. MSFS and the upcoming FS24 are mind blowing. This is not to take away from your video, its great. I was never a fan of the .BMP panels and was excited when FSX had virtual flightdecks!
Its so amazing how the technology progressed in those 20 years!!! i REMEMBER fs2004 as ultra realistic sim but now when we have MSFS, X-Plane and even old but good FSX/P3D FS2004 looks so simple and ancient :o
Good times. I built so many Alaskan sceneries for that sim. Then when FSX came out. It brought my computer to a grinding halt. Never played again until 2020 came out.
bloody hell i was playing thi back in the day thought it was the best graphics ever. come 2024 and now we have fs2024 to look forward too.... holy smokes.
Nostalgia - for any new flight simmers who never played 2004 back in the day let me asure you it was "impossible" to have a landing this smooth, especially at a busy airport like Heathrow....it was stutter-hell garbage, clearly this in video its running on modern hardware but my god it was bad.
FS2004 can actually look very nice with some proper addons installed. No one would ever use vanilla 9.1 back then...you'd buy this sim to add a few hundred gigs of stuff on top of it :) Rarely someone would even make a daring attempt to fly in vanilla so ugly it looked by default 😂.
I used a Lenovo Y50 but the display setting in the game is somewhat low. That's because I add a lot of extra taxiways and runways and I don't want autogen sceneries (like trees and houses) showing up on them
What update are you referring to? The new runway and AI traffic here are made by myself, using AFCAD, EZ-scenery, TTools and various downloaded AI aircrafts.
I’m with you in the “who needs new stuff anyway?” crew. I’m still driving my 2002 Toyota Celica. A man with no bills is a rich man. F*ck modernism! F*ck society!
Oh yea🎉. Ow we talking. I use to try to follow the air traffic. lol. Ms zone was it back then. I still got a hard drive full of piratebay addons if you need. Captain sim still hard to install. You have to generate new keys every week. Forgot the name of the time pirate back then. Make sure you back up your fs9.cgf lol. Or you know what. Frame rate hacks allll day. lol.
Back in the days you needed a LOT of addons to make it look nice. But it worked well with the good addons. I preferred it over FSX all the time, until 2020 came out. This sets the benchmark extremely high.
Can't wait for the FSX release 🔥🔥🔥
Can’t wait for the trailer
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
are you sure your machine can run it? It's resource consuming.
Hey, I'm from the future, just skip that one.
LMAO

Indeed. One of the reasons for still using FS2004 is the amazing AI traffic. Makes the airports alive.
funny how back then having nothing to compare it to and not knowing any different it was great! almost like our imagination just filled in the blanks and we were content with what was available at the time.
That's true. My first 'sim' was F15 fighter pilot for the Spectrum. My memory of it is very different to the reality!
ahh i miss this so much. Imagination was everything
exactly my thoughts! literally every game of my childhood had better graphics then todays games, not knowing it was all imagination. miss those days

Nostalgic as hell, i did the same like u when the aircraft doesn’t have a cockpit, is airbus but boeing cockpit lol
Yes. Sometimes I can't figure out 3rd party cockpits
I'm still rocking FSX. it has its at some times, but it still ROCKS!
Its so amazing how the technology progressed in those 20 years!!! i REMEMBER fs2004 as ultra realistic sim but now when we have MSFS, X-Plane and even old but good FSX/P3D FS2004 looks so simple and ancient :o
Parabéns por manter o seu fs2004 funcionando e com extrema qualidade! Bons vôos comandante.
Muito obrigado
That is a fantastic sounding plane right there, as good as something you'd hear in MSFS
Great bro great. I am so happy to see that. I went my pass in a second :)
Quality of the AI ATC still looks better then in MSFS2020 or Xplane12...
so many memories from fs 2004

I still use the FS2004!!!
I have FS 2002, 2004, FSX, FS2020, XPlane 11.
Jeez…..i forgot how primitive fs2004 was until i saw this. It’s amazing we survived back then.
Even in windowed mode.. blows my mind.
Very nostalgic! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I can’t wait for the GeForce 8800 to come out.

Sorry, but I'm still using FS2000. Where do I get my medal? xD
Jokes aside, great content.
Lol thanks
Bro got the A320 with MD82 cockpit 🤣
My A320 cockpit didn't work. Couldn't do ILS (see the previous video how I stalled on approach to Gatwick)
I think it’s the 737 classic flight deck. Still tho, definitely not an airbus!
@@zk9058 yes I switched it to the default B737 panel. I once used A320 panel before but it couldn't capture the ILS
Shit, have I been simming for 20 years?!
Oh shit, I can't do this. It brings back too much memories

I still use fsx
still running fs2004 oh my good lord
what's your PC setup? That looks great 🙂
I used a Lenovo Y50 but the display setting in the game is somewhat low. That's because I add a lot of extra taxiways and runways and I don't want autogen sceneries (like trees and houses) showing up on them
Legend!
THere is only one truth: This is the most realistic sim eve.
Not even msfs can get close to it
How does a jet blue a320 get to London😂😭
And with a 737 Classic cockpit
@@matiasr1373 Honestly😂😂
3rd runway?
Yes, added manually using AFCAD. The environmentalists will be livid.
Runway lights looks better than MS2020
-and ATC
-and touchdown feel
-and ai traffic….
I use FS2002 (fr) that new update looks epic where can I find it
What update are you referring to? The new runway and AI traffic here are made by myself, using AFCAD, EZ-scenery, TTools and various downloaded AI aircrafts.
@@StillusingFS2004 I’m kidding lol
When does this sim come out?
Came out 21 years ago 😅
@@StillusingFS2004 I know🤣 it’s amazing just how far flight sim has actually come when you see these old fs2004 vids
Breaking 250 knt speed limit @2:43.
Cool!

The ATC was still better than FS2020.
WHat PC is this
Lenovo Y50. 10 years old now
Real flight simulator?
FS2004. You can call it real, but you can also call it not real
Nostalgic as hell, but honestly I prefer 2020, nust better overall graphics and immersion
No shit?
the aeroplane looks so hilarious while nowadays some bozos can create a A320 neo for free lol
these were the best, the new flight sims are too flashy and focused on looks
you should definitely download some scenery, or maybe purchase some payware. fs2004 can actually look better than fsx with the right addons.
Why still using fs2004
Easy to modify, great AI traffic, relatively smooth to run on a slow computer
@@StillusingFS2004bro I run xplane 11 medium graphics 30fps on a $700 AUD computer.
Why not

even in 2007 my FS9 look waaaay better.. with my 8600GT.. Adobe Traffic it took about 30 min to load the game jaja
SOVL
Bruh ! turn off the red labels, thats cheatin ! 💣😤
💩
Yuck! So flat and boring terrain compared to today.

@@alexk.8081 For sure! I started FS back in 1993 lol!
Both 2004&2006 x edition are fantastic with almost zero mistake but the scenery is out of vision, thanks for the vdieo
