I get cursed out every time I talk about this. When I talk about UAE and VISMA so many people are 1000% convinced these lads are "all natural"😂😂 It's not just them either but when you see these 2 teams SO FAR superior to everyone else, how can you think it's all natural. I tell people that once you come to terms with them doping, you'll enjoy the sport more cos you'll have a better understanding of the sport. I enjoy the doping to be honest with you!! It makes for great feats of strength and endurance that are superhuman. We get to see superhumans doing superhuman shit!!! But those that won't accept the doping in the sport are just deaf, DUMB and blind!!! It's so BLATANTLY obvious!! It's like Lance and all his Superhuman boys on the PROGRAM, (not to mention all their competitors as well) were a bunch of punks as every record they smashed in all these iconic races and courses continue to get smashed by dozens of riders in every major event. Haaaaa! I was in the pro peloton when all that happened, with all those guys, and I can tell you it was surreal. So, nowadays it must just be the aero skinsuits right? Nothing to see here. Never mind that the 5-15 best guys in the WORLD on that day are chasing ALL out for 25-50-75-100K... and LOSING TIME! I guess maybe drafting doesn't save energy anymore? I give up! Thanks man!

a huge performance of MVDP FOR SURE ! but there was to less competition from top riders . Last hour of the race I felt a sleep . Top 5 of the world riders recovering now from wounds . The best man ad the start of the race also was the best ad the end of the race ! If the top 5 are not present , no team can match the team of Mathieu ! Even team visma lease a bike had to puzzle to make a team . Before Wout crached visma dominated almost every race ....
The year everybody was looking forward to be the most exciting ever in cycling is now looking to be the most boring, with >50km solo victories in the classics and probably one overwhelmingly dominant rider in the grand tours …
Agreed. Without Pogacar and WVA there fighting the whole way it’s just boring. E3 and Amstel gold the past 2 years have been way more entertaining than this.
MVDP may be the luckiest rider ever. It’s insane that he was lucky enough to be the only page 1 favorite at two monuments in a row.
WVA’s form this year was hard to gauge since he only did one race after altitude and crashed. But he seemed on good form when he hopped back on his bike.
If the situation was different and either WVA or Pogacar was the only one at Flanders or here, they would’ve one.
It's been interesting all these top tier riders crashing out past few weeks too.
@@carboncrank2250 MVDP and Pogacar are about to have historical seasons with regard to races won. Everybody else is injured right now, it’s honestly insane.
This season has been brutal for Visma LAB in terms of injured riders. I hope everybody makes a good recovery. I’m already interested in what their race schedules will look like next year. I can’t help but think they won’t be doing much early season racing in order to keep everybody injury free.

Obviously Canyon saw the value if they were willing to go 10. If he has 5 brilliant years and then falls off, still a worthy investment, he must sell a ton of Aeroads.

I'm English but live in California so I am forced to watch the several big races on our American streaming service (that I can't name here cos Eurosport deletes my comment if I do). I prefer to watch my races on Eurosport but the races that Phil, Bob and Christian cover those races aren't on American Eurosport cos they would compete with each other but I have to say that Phil is a LEGEND!!! I've listened to Phil for 30 odd year now and as much as I love him he is getting old andbmaking so many mistakes. I was surprised he didn't retire after last season cos the past 4 seasons he's making more and more mistakes in his commentary. I don't go to the American streaming YT page cos it's full of newbies that know nothing about cycling so I watch it on American streaming service but come to Eurosport YT page to talk to people that know the sport

Wouldn't you? The only reason they kept riding was 2 and 3 on the podium... and the slight chance that he crashes or punctures.
The fact that MVDP's acceleration made the others look like they immediately gave up ... says it all. The level of explosivity and watts MVDP can put down instantly, compared to any other rider, looks almost unreal. Just ask Pedersen. He gave his all to catch and match MVDP pace but could not even remotely follow him. None of them could even while working together.

He's just a beast! I'm not a fan of MVDP but he really is a powerhouse and his skills from cyclocross really helps him stay upright. I actually Google'd "MVDP crashes" and I only found 2. One was MTB crash which doesn't count cos I was looking for road crashes and the only other one I found was his crash in the World Championships when it was raining and he still won the Worlds!! He just has an amazing sixth sense with bike handling skills

If you look only at the last few kilometers and see his impeccable world champion uniform and bicycle, it seems like he is going to visit his girlfriend. But he comes from Mordor and Arrakis👻 Greatness is in making the difficult look easy. Morally, Stefan Küng deserves a podium, in another team he would have already achieved it. The last World Champion to win it was Peter Sagan. Since Bernard Hinault in '81, no one has won Roubaix and Tour de France in the same year for those who say it's the time of "aliens."

Pogacar won Strade without WVA and MVDP there.
In the past years WVA has won nearly all the classics without the other 2 there.
MVDP is getting these races for free. His competitors were not there.

This is the 2nd race in a row this guy rides the fastest race in the event's history. We don't know what is really going on. We don't have the whole story. However, we do know what has happened to the sport historically since 1991.

Puncture after 100m of cobbles, at the same second Alpecin put the hammer down and no one came back
@@oliverp6770 not lucky in this race, but we saw him not in the best conditions in the Milano Sanremo
Boring race - not MVDP’s fault - head and shoulders above everyone else but with WVA out it was always going to be easy
Without WvA or Pogacar, yeah and with Alpecin being the strongest team, it's not surprising. Philipsen said he will decide on his future after Paris-Roubaix, so hopefully he leaves Alpecin and what looks to be the second or third best cobbles rider in the world at least won't ride with the best.
He was the strongest and hats of to a dominant win but he also had some luck on his side. Other teams suffered a lot more from defects and crashes today. E.g. Mads Pedersen punctured with 87 km to go and he had already lost his teammates from the front group due to similar circumstances so he had to spend a lot of extra energy leading up to the time when MVDP decided to say goodbye. It would at least have been closer if Lidl Trek had been able to stay out of trouble as well as Alpecin - Deceuninck. So the typical Paris-Roubaix drama ironically also made the race more boring this year. But of course that's not MVDP's fault either.

Except Merckx won the TDF 5 times, as well as the Giro 5 times, in addition to so many classics multiple times.
But it was different time, there was no specialized (like the brand) riders.

Perhaps that is because he crashed like 10 days ago. He broke 7 ribs, his sternum, and collarbone. It was clear that if wout didn’t crash at e3 he would’ve easily been able to follow MVDP’s move. He was at a complete standstill at the bottom of a cobbled climb while MVDP was attacking, yet managed to close the gap to 10 seconds.
Remco has a broken scapula right now as well.
