Thank you. Decided to go to Rehoboth again after watching this video. Had a blast at Freddies and Purple Parrot with my partner for my 40th birthday. The beach was stunning even in November.
Your report on Reho is mostly accurate and awesome. But you went to all the bars, ignoring the long running and ultra friendly Rigby's-- often referred to as the Gay Cheers. Great chef inspired dinner, Sunday brunch, and bar menus. Strong cocktails, live entertainment, and welcoming to adults of all ages. Check it out next visit. --Jim Austin
Thanks, Jim! Rigby’s definitely looks cute! We walked by it many times staying around the corner at the Canalside Inn. We can’t feature everything on the video, but we will make sure to include it in our upcoming blog post! Thanks for sharing! Much appreciated 🙏❤️
Thank you so much for making this!! I live in Virginia, and have been wanting to go here for a while. Now I have a video to entice my friends to go with me ;)
I love Rehoboth Beach! I live in Philly which is a mere 100 or so miles away, 2 1/2 hours by car. I love piano player/singer John Francis Flynn!!! My only suggestion is visit on the shoulder season - before Memorial Day and after Labor Day. If you are not a beach person even the winter can be rather nice - the town doesn't close down as more than half of the fine restaurants and charming shops stay open year round for the locals but the added benefit of affordable motel rates, no crowds, and a better chance to meet the friendly local gay community. Winters can be chilly, but milder than say P-Town or Fire Island - similar climate to Ocean City Maryland or Virginia Beach, Virginia.
@TwoGayExpats thank you guys for the Rehoboth review, and I appreciate the shout out very much! I remember you guys being there too, you are both very sweet. Thank you again!🥰🌈

There is a summertime bus, with very limited service on the weekends, from and to Washington DC. If one has a non-Tesla Electric Vehicle, be forewarned that there are very few available EVSE charging stations (no fast charging whatsoever) for CCS plug in Rehoboth Beach, and like no others for like 50 miles around Rehoboth Beach. You have a slim chance of finding an available level 2 charger at the outlet malls. I am hoping the network will be better expanded this year, especially with the inclusion of some more EV brands at Tesla charging stations. If considering taking the ferry from Cape May, New Jersey, be aware that the fare charge is rather expensive/steep for a ferry ride. There are some potential cruising spots north of the Fort Miles historical area, around Cape Henlopen State Park Beach in Lewes, if that sort of thing interests you.
another tip: If traveling by train the closest Amtrak station is Wilmington, Delaware. From there you can rent a car or take a bus down to Rehoboth Beach. I have taken there train most of the times I've gone to Rehoboth.
Yes, perfect for single travelers but rather expensive if two of you we found. And Sunday funday is a highlight too!! But we love options!! Thanks for pointing this out!
@@TwoGayExpats Right, and the bus is not nearly as comfortable as the Hampton jitney. That being said, our New York friends don’t have a car so it works for them. Alternatively, they have taken Amtrak to Wilmington, DE and I pick them up. More comfortable for them and if you plan, about the same price. The downside is that Wilmington is an hour and a half away, but I get to stop at COSTCO. BWI is also an airport option. It’s the same distance as PHL but it will take you an additional 20-30 minutes driving as you have to drive across farmland and through small towns with speed traps. If it say 25 mph believe it. Finally, if you drive make sure you learn about the parking regulations in town. You need a permit during the day at non-metered spaces so don’t be caught off guard and end up paying a hefty fine. We have a lot of gay friendly dining options here where we’ve met some great straight folks. The oddball homophobe is a rare exception here. Thanks guys for highlighting our town.
Didn’t miss it, saw it and thought it looked cute! We can’t highlight every venue in town in 8-10 minutes, but we give you a taste! 😋 Thanks for sharing so others may check it out when they visit! 👌
I’ve been going to Rehoboth Beach since 1990. Rehoboth Beach Guest House is really nice place to stay, from outdoor showers to a secret back entrance to Blue Moon Bar & Restaurant. Another great place for bar food and dancing is The Frog Pond, just around the corner from The Purple Parrot. NO trip would be complete unless you get a pizza from The Grotto Pizza, simply the best pizza ever. Your video was awesome, for people that have never been to Rehoboth Beach. Also, while very nice ( I stayed there also) Canal Street Hotel is very far from everything BUT a fun choice. Cheap alternative, The Sand Castle Hotel, right in the heart ❤️ of Rehoboth. I’m actually going there this weekend October 4th, my friend has a house there, lucky me.
Thank you, Anthony for the additional color and recs!! We greatly appreciate you sharing with us and fellow viewers to make the most of their trip to Rehoboth Beach!!! ❤️🙏🙏
Hi Anthony, just wanted to let you know as you're coming this week so you're not shocked, Frogg Pond is now Freddies Beach Bar, but don't worry, it's fabulous and gayer than ever! Also, the Sand Castle is no more, but it's been renovated into a division of Hyatt, and has a great restaurant, Cirroco. Blue Moon is still here, I play Sun-Tues 5-7pm and I'm at La Fable, on Baltimore Ave Saturdays, 8:30-11:30. Please say Hi if you're able to stop in either place! Safe travels!🥰🌈
I have been going yearly for 26 years now - from the Pittsburgh area.A 6 hour drive. There are several excellent upscale restaurants of note: La Fable,Eden,Cultured Pearl,Sazio,1776 Steakhouse. The Henlopen is a comfortable and quiet hotel directly on the beach. After Labor Day is best.
You didn't mention the state park beach which has a big lesbian and gay following. There is also the town of Dewey which is well worth exploring and has a ferry that will take you to Cape May, NJ - a very nice day trip excursion.
Thanks for sharing! We chose to highlight Poodle Beach, the main gay beach, but yes, the entire area offers lots of LGBTQ-friendly places! Many years ago, I (Trai) went to a gorgeous wedding in Cape May!! That’s a stunner too!! Thanks again 🙌
We didn’t visit those towns as not Rehoboth, the focus of this video. We know from many retirement Facebook groups that these surrounding towns are popular as well with the LGBTQ+ community. Did you have any specific places you’d like to recommend to our viewers?

I've been going to Rehoboth Beach since the mid 70s and retired there. It's so nice to be able to walk anywhere around town.
Thank you so much for making this!! I live in Virginia, and have been wanting to go here for a while. Now I have a video to entice my friends to go with me ;)
Amazing, yes! Great idea!! Great and easy for friends groups too!!
glad to see Blue Moon is still going strong..I was there in 1982 and loved it and Rehoboth
Hey Guys,
Thanks for the great shout out for Freddies. Nice meeting you both tonight at Federico and Arlington. Hope to see you again.

You didn't mention Rigby's which has been going strong for 15 years. Mainly an older crowd. It' a bar and a restaurant.

Love it here. I live here now. Great show on Rehoboth
Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you!! Also, congrats on the move!! 🙌
Have you been to New Hope PA or plan to visit?
Many years ago when I (Trai) lived in New York! I remember a beautiful little town with a nice theater scene! 🙌

The best gay, more friendly beach (IMHO) is the northern end in the state park. 👍 Lots more elbow room too.
Great view guys! ❤
Thank you 😁

During the summer there are beach buses from DC and NYC arriving on Fridays and departing on Sundays at around 6:30 pm.
