When I watched the Bumblebee movie back in 2019 and when I saw Optimus doing the 1986 jump in the air from the '86 movie, I was amazed and every Studio Series Optimus Prime can do that pose is amazing. Love the review!

DUUUDE the transformation of this is absolutely AMAZING. Haven't bought a transformer in ages but if I manage to find that, I'm getting it. Holy, I'm mind blown how good this transforms

I grew up with the bayformers and I am quite attached to the designs, I can see why people don’t like it but it’s an interesting take on the transformers. I am a g1 fan but the bayformers hold a special place in my heart.

Same I grew up with the bayformers I admit I don’t like the last knight but I do like 1,2,3 and 4 they are awesome they will always have a place in my heart yes if you want to know I love g1 it’s amazing. I just hope that rise of beats will make a comeback for the transformers series I am confident it will though.
Most of the Bayverse designs aren't good, but Optimus was perfect in my opinion. It was a perfect "realistic" take in my opinion!

I love the metallic finish but hate the battle damage. I wish there was a option for premium paint with no battle damage.

Thank you for making this video! I was trying to collect all bumblee studio series figures, but seeing that optimus prime was the most expensive one, I was able to find the premium finish online for much cheaper. Thanks!

It's Good. I own the Mass released OP and wasn't planning on getting this one. Then I watch your review and now I have him ordered. I wanted A Live action G1 Optimus and this Guy hits all the right notes. Painted Yellow triangles, silver face plate, white striped truck... Now I need to find him a good Trailer
I missed this on original release and have it on pre-order here in NZ. This review confirms that I made the right choice.

I love that mold. Would buy another one if I can find this premium finish version. It's a shame the TF Bumblebee movie didn't do well. That might be why it's hard to obtain the toys from it. I remember seeing the masterpiece bumblebee (from the movie) and not having money to buy it but now that I have it I can't find him anywhere in toys stores. Grrrr
Its on pre order on big bad toy store its not on physical or online stores yet

I’m getting this figure because I missed the mass release and the mass release versions are all super inflated in price now. It looks like they improved the head mobility a bit on this one because some reviewers mentioned the mass release one not having up and down head articulation at all.

I've just ordered this from Ebay. I plan to do a little custom painting. Nothing serious, just some shading, giving some definition to the more plain pieces, maybe a little more weathering and chipping to "expose more metal" to show Prime's actually been thru a few billion years of war.
This Prime design is so good almost every figure is good

This "premium version" still lacks paint compared to the original pre order photos. The back thighs (gas tanks) are supposed to be silver, the inside of the forearms near the elbows are supposed to be painted. You'll notice the difference if you compare it from the photos.

It's kinda crazy that the weathering is not done with dry brushing, but with some type of printing process (either slikscreening or tampoing). Also, I disagree with 7:36 , the 35th anniversary Optimus is meant to be G1-esque and not movie accurate, hence the brighter colors and cleaner paint apps.

It is a fantastic figure at voyager price point, but I wouldn't want to pay leader class price for the toy, unless I have some sort of discount that I have to use and this is the only toy applicable. Then I might change my mind.
Edit: I just realized the side tank are supposed to be painted, at least it's there on the prototype. But no, we don't have enough budget despite us charging you 70% extra for the same figure.
Yeah I noticed actually there are a few inconsistencies between this & the prototype :( it’s a shame

I'm asking because I have the original SS-38, but one of his smokestacks broke in the middle. So should I try to get this?
Edit: I didn't get my SS-38 recently I got it the year it came out for Christmas

if you have modding skills you can turn him into an evasion styled look because evasion prime also had 1 smoke stack

I own this figure and I do not need the Masterpiece version. So so happy I have this guy.
If it's the same plastic, I ain't buying it. Both the red and grey plastic on the first figure were so melty and bendy, they wouldn't hold a tab worth a shit and any part that could pop off, would. Getting it into truck mode was misery.
The red looks like candy.
I love it. The colors pop.
The engineering on the Live Action movie lines have always been so much better compared to the Neo-GeeWun lines like Legacy, PoTP, Titans Return, erc

You could probably switch the shoulder pieces so you get the gunmetal detailing in them idk if the exterior red matches tho
Still really wish they could've molded the side windows in the same trans-blue plastic they used for the windshield.

Whilst I don't really care for the bumblebee figures or G1 in general, I love that they are re-issuing a popular character- and with a better paint job. This opens new possibilities for another Ironhide and others :D
We need a Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Optimus Prime 2.0 mold in the works.

I've got the original SS-38 Optimus and MPM-12. Won't be chasing after this new version just for slightly more G1 paint
I don't think it's drybrushing, it looks like the printing that Hasbro uses on Marvel Legends.

Just preorded this since I don't have a voyager prime really love the chunky look of this figure reminds me of the G1 design alot more and the bumblebee prime design is just my favorite
Lucky for me, i do not buy that main line Studio series Optimus Prime because the colouration at original version is not accurate at all ☹️, plus make the original version look like boring for me 😒. I wish, i can find this super cool premium version Optimus Prime at my country because the colouration at premium version lot better or i can say Ultra-awesome 😁. I like this Optimus Prime more than Netflix Optimus Prime, because Netflix Optimus Prime's characteristics so terrible, plus he looks like childish because he do not know how to make it a plan, so shame ☹️. I love this mold. I am very interested in seeing...and most likely buying, the Optimus from the new movie. I've grown to except and even like the Prime from the first movie but this design is superior.
Michael Bay Transformers look like C3PO from the Phantom menace.

one thing i found out today i dont know if u know is that u can store his gun in truck mode by rasing the flaps underneith and having the gun fit in the middle

I got the premium finish bumblebee and was pretty disappointed, which lowered my expectations for this optimus figure, but after watching this review I think I should get it as it looks a lot better.

Looks almost improved, but they made that abdominal area an eyesore by using red plastic instead of reusing the grey/black plastic on the original

So basically, it's just the Aoyi Mech h6003-8 but official and with "battle damage". It still looks the best of all the premium finishes, though. Nice review PVP.

honestly my only real criticism is in the arms having the awkward door panel part on it, was surprised at how compact the chest was and no huge backpack either!!!

You make it look so easy. Every time I look at mine the wrong way a tab pops out of place.
I just bought this one a few hours from someone for $57. Can’t wait.
Many people seem to dislike the feet, but for me they are an easily acceptable trade-off. Less massive feet are easier to hide, and in this mold they don’t stick out in the truck mode at all. Clearly visible robot feet in truck modes have always greatly bugged me in G1-style Optimus Prime -figures.

Outstanding review! this one of the greatest Optimus figure ive ever seen and own! Its almost perfect, the lack of head swivel is a bummer, but thats my only gripe. It really feels great in hand and it poses wonderfully!!! Till all are One!

The blaster fits between the legs in truck mode making the drive train. Most people don't know this. I don't think it's in the instruction manual either.
Can't wait for mine as it's expected to arrive tomorrow. Then Reboost is expected to ship soon so I'm very happy.

You should review the KO Nemesis Prime version of this body because it looks like it was made for that mold!

The only thing I hate about the Studio Series Prime is that the truck mode is nowhere near accurate to what we saw in the film. The truck is more accurate to the invasion mode for Prime was AoE and vice versa

It's interesting to me how they managed to make this figure so good but no one points out that it's design is very inaccurate to his look in the movie and based on concept art .
I think this is based off when he gets to earth because there's a difference between the earth and cybertronian mode.
There's something that you forgot or ignored on the robot mode for this figure the two front white flaps, or slabs should be flipped again in robot mode because there is supposed to be white slabs visible under the windshield doors..
Bummer that the front bumper still doesn't align properly!
