Bret and HBK would give the best promo's when talking about each other. At this time Bret in his heel run brought HBK and Austin into an unlikely partnership that I loved while Bearer's turn on Taker storyline was so mysterious especially with the secret Paul kept talking about. Raw was really heating up at this time.
You know it's funny. I was watching this at the time thinking it was great but thought that Golden era was the 80's. Only in hindsight do I understand that this was the golden era of wrestling... Nwo 4 life 2 sweet....

honestly, the best part of this series is the unremembered stuff. the things wwe and the standard wrestling retrospectives don't really look at. the great and sometimes awkward under and mid card, the almost schizophrenic transitional period of wwf. gimme more steven regal, ken shamrock, harlem heat and owen and bulldog.
Most wrestlers could beat up your average guy tbh. They're usually big jacked guys who have to stay fit. But the vast majority of them suck in actual fights on a professional level, not just shawn. He was a total prima donna but sucking in a shoot fight is hardly something against him.
A very fast way to go from self-employed to unemployed is to take time out as a business owner during business hours to watch a 40 minute TH-cam Video. But hey, the upside is you’ll still be able to watch a freshly uploaded episode of Wrestling Bios, right?
Kevin Sullivan had Go Away Heat at this point. Rambling promos filled with insider terms, outdated catchphrase and that damn stupid finisher.. I guess it helps when you're the booker.
Glad you brought up the ropes, after some hyper fixation and maybe some OCD with colors I found this was only for a couple weeks in April. They went to all red by the end of the month
Man, when I heard that the WCW beat the WWF for 84 weeks straight, I thought that meant they had better content. But I am finding myself liking the WWF more and more and I grew up watching WCW (grant it it was only for like 2 years when I was 8-10)
Raw was better in 97 creatively All nitro had was NWO/Sting & the cruiser weights at that time But raw had better matches promos & segments in my opinion
@@snellsmanAnd even there with hindsight it's really sad because we know that Sting's career is just now this. Constantly getting betrayed and politicked in and out the ring as one of the least intelligent big babyfaces in wrestling(the character, not the person, ofc).

Favorite part of the week. Reliving The War once again... LETS GO! Thanks Wrestling Bios for always bringing the scoop about the Monday Night War. I'm learning a lot from you.. 🙏
34:25: Funny how both Austin/Mankind RAW matches were actually last minute replacement matches. On this show, replacing Mankind/Sid, and the night after Survivor Series 1996, replacing Austin/Vader if I'm not mistaking.
Man, Van Damme's career went straight down the tubes. A couple years before this my friend and I had gone to see a couple hit films he had done. Now he was relegated to doing films with Dennis Rodman and Rob Schneider. Oh my god! :)
My friend. I look forward to your videos. One because I know that the end of the week is near. Two. Your commentary on all the videos is so entertaining and so funny that anything new that comes out I automatically listen to it. Thank you sooo much for making these videos. Please keep it coming.
“Hey Elmo… Tickle this.”… I’m done. I love how you point out random stuff and then I remember the first time I saw it like 25 years ago. You are a master at your craft sir.
Davey boy and Owen really complimented each other in the ring and were funny! It's a shame fate works the way it does as it'd have been awesome to see how far the dynamic duo could have gone!

The WWF intro siren added to the theme at the beginning gets me pumped.
It’s pretty funny the amount of disappointment I feel when there are no Davey Boy Smith chin locks applied

There goes my day.....
Steve Austin "You ain't gonna sit there and bully me."
Gorilla Monsoon was standing the whole time.
It is still nice having segments with Gorilla Monsoon. What a career from being one of Bruno's main opponents all the way to the Monday night wars!
Its going to be sad when we start to see him less and less and his last appearance being in 1999 looking very frail
