Glad to see that Schneider is back 🔙 n the training business! They do an incredible job!! I trained at Green Bay in 2007. Then drove for Schneider for three years. I have been an Owner Operator for five years now. As I start my 15th year of accident-free driving I attribute much of it to the amazing training I received at Schneider.
I went to Green Bay, Wisconsin to train in Feb 2001 then with a training engineer but I still couldn't get the downshifting down but upshift was easy to remember. I was just an idiot especially when I never learned before hand on any manual transmission.
First let me say for a new driver, Schneider's training program is one of the best in the industry. Schneider has great perks like new shoes every year, company car, some operating centers have a cafe and a gym. Free laundry and a generous vacation package that goes up to 4 weeks with time. There are down sides to Schneider as well, no company is perfect, however you can't ask for a better place to start. I drove for them for 10 years and now do something eles.

Was one of the last transport drivers hired ,there was about 30 of us by the time the application process was done there were 2 of us. Spent 2 years with them.
So you're going to have a trainer drive with a new recruit for a week then cut them loose? I'm no expert but that seems like it's not enough time for a new driver.
@O.N.L. Yess we do ! If we don’t start at the sametime, just know you got this 🤍🚛💨. I was in trucking school that they paid for and i was there since the 4th-26th. I just passed on Tuesday, and my recruiter called me and was giving me some info about the process and all.
Oh awesome! I took a 4-year break to get my degree in something unrelated and am looking at driving again. I miss it! 😊 I loved driving those big trucks all over kingdom come. I was concerned because my experience isn't lengthy and it has a break in it. I am trying to figure out what to do to get hired. Do I pay for a refresher course, yada, yada, yada! It looks like this company will take care of refreshing my skills adequately. I will have to keep them in mind. I haven't heard great things about the pay though. I'm trying to separate the bitter types from the more honest opinions on the matter. I have to take care of some things before I take steps to get back out there. I thought it would behoove me to start researching now and by the time I'm ready, I can implement action right then. I hope I find the right place to fit in with for a couple years. I have a goal and getting the foundational experience in is imperative. Thanks for the video! 😊
I start over again. It’s been a couple years since I’ve been behind the wheel. I’m really wanting this 2nd go around to be successful. My first time I trained in Green Bay. Now I’m going to Phoenix. I really need to work on my backing. My first time was such a huge disaster. I want to succeed.
We have CDL training options but they are currently booked out. However, we offer up to $7,000 in tuition reimbursement to trucking school. That means you would go to a trucking school, get your CDL, and once hired on with Schneider, we'd help repay your school loan. Full details at: sni.jobs/StartDrivingYT
That's not true. Schneider paid for my school and my hotel while away at school in exchange for signing a year contract with them after which I could walk away and owe nothing.
It's not "teaching you How to Take a Shower!" It's teaching you were you can find places to take a shower when you are an otr cdl driver. If you truly didn't understand what they were saying about showers, I suspect you don't understand the ins and outs of otr cdl lifestyle.
Will Schneider hire new cdls grads but with no varifiable expierence? How much does it cost to live on the road hotels/food/shower? Or does Schneider help you with some stuff? Have class A license didn't know it was going to be this hard to get hired
The company I drive for got me a rental car to orientation. I was in orientation for 2 days . I kept the car and didn’t turn it in until the final day of orientation, When I got my actual truck. Which means I drove myself to and from orientation. They booked my hotel room and I was the only one in it for 2 days . Oh and yes I got $500.00 orientation pay . Now everything they state here is go to your recruiter for assistance. They’ll teach you how to take a shower ? If that isn’t fair warning to void this place, I don’t know what is ? ⚠️
Hi Zach. Yes, We've updated the internal transfer process and you can search and apply for internal roles with the Schneider Compass app. You would just need to speak with your leader.
I guess it makes more 💰 to have trainers back to train more newbies...haha they smell the blood..I personally like the 1 week thing. Some people just need to be backed into a corner to react and survive
They lied to get me in the door and I didn't stay very long.I didn't need training so I don't know much about that side.I do know they said I'd have a new truck and then gave me one with 860,000 miles on its last leg and stayed broke down more than it stayed running.Three months of that and lying about home time and junk trailers etc was enough for me so I bought a new Peterbilt and signed on with a local company on a dedicated run home every night and been doing that since 2008.
As someone with a permit who is looking to get my CDL through y’all, do we train /test out on manual or are they all automatic? I don’t want to have a restriction on my CDL.
I won't say 100% sense this video was a year ago but from the video with seeing the simulator part they might train in manual but they probably went fully automatic. I think from my point of view it seems the only ways to get a non restricted licenses nowadays are going to a college that offers the course, going to a cdl school like road masters or something like them that offer training in manual, or going basically on your own which means learning in a truck if you have a friend or family member that owns their truck. Sense nowadays even tho manuals are still out there but the training isn't. Probably best way to ask them is contacting a recruiter there and seeing if they do give the option to train/test out of a manual
I had considered maybe driving a truck especially now there are automatic transmission trucks now and yes I know I'm dumb. I have a Class B for driving a school bus which I have air brakes on my license needless to say. I'm seeing if this field is a good fit or not.
Im heading there in a few days at Dallas terminal, I would like to know if I'll get 45 and 90 degree backing during those 2 weeks, thats my biggest concern.

Seems like no one cares to answer? I'm a 52 yr old female ok for me to into this?
No
@@tammystewart10 As long as you pass the physical, you'll be fine. There are 70 yr old OTR drivers out there.
So you're going to have a trainer drive with a new recruit for a week then cut them loose? I'm no expert but that seems like it's not enough time for a new driver.
I'm looking forward to trucking career with Schneider.
I’m very interested in learning how to drive trucks . Looks very rewarding
Just got my Class A 🤍, Starting with Schnieder in a couple of weeks. I’m ready & nervous lol.
@O.N.L. SAME HERE lol
@O.N.L. Yess we do ! If we don’t start at the sametime, just know you got this 🤍🚛💨.
I was in trucking school that they paid for and i was there since the 4th-26th. I just passed on Tuesday, and my recruiter called me and was giving me some info about the process and all.
Good luck to both of you! You got this! Drive safe out there, so glad to have you on team orange.
How did the training go for you with Schneider? I'm thinking about joining them as well
How did it go? I start next Monday
I just got hired from you guys! Looking forward to this new journey!
How is it going?
How was the training?
He failed the drug screen. 😂
Looking forward to attending a cdl school and hopefully work for this company
Looking forward to an opportunity to join soon
I got great training It was intense but it was quick and it was top notch quality.. unfortunately they just don't pay
I'm starting may5 in Phoenix..O experience , haven't been in a truck since December.. I'm worried I forget everything
You will be fine! Best thing anyone can have is confidence!
@@schneiderjobs thanks.. tomorrow is the orientation . My mind is blank... And it's hot here lol
How did it go? I'll be starting orientation in Phoenix soon.
@@12thmanzag4life my backing is not great either, but you should be fine
driving for Schneider I'm happy working for Schneider! Schneider facility the best place to work!
We are so glad you enjoy working at Schneider!
Schneider doesnt pay for cdl driving school. They only offer Tuition reimbursement. Because of that im talking with TMC
Pleroma wrong
Thats what I was told. Thats what I read
I'm very excited to start
Welcome to the big orange!
What's your closest training facility to New York?
FYI, and "forced dispatched" is just a PC term for you are going to get screwed by that company.
Some of the best training you’ll ever receive.
Thank you! We agree!
That is true. Other aspects suck but training is top notch.
Yea like teaching you how to take a shower 😂
No thanks !
It's not "teaching you How to Take a Shower!"
It's teaching you were you can find places to take a shower when you are an otr cdl driver.
If you truly didn't understand what they were saying about showers, I suspect you don't understand the ins and outs of otr cdl lifestyle.
@@MeG-fy1ozsome people lack reading comprehension skills
Will Schneider hire new cdls grads but with no varifiable expierence? How much does it cost to live on the road hotels/food/shower? Or does Schneider help you with some stuff? Have class A license didn't know it was going to be this hard to get hired
yeah therez alot of ztuff they leave out when gettin cdl they make it zound eazy & that ull make alot of $$$$ all LIEZ .
I have CDLClass A with the endorsement Hazmat and also I have my twic card and well I would like to could work for that campany Schneider.
I have a CDL A. With "T" & "X" endorsements
Starting Orientation on Tuesday, ready for the journey.
Have fun and drive safe! So glad to have you on the team! :)
Big Red how'd it go?
The company I drive for got me a rental car to orientation.
I was in orientation for 2 days .
I kept the car and didn’t turn it in until the final day of orientation, When I got my actual truck.
Which means I drove myself to and from orientation.
They booked my hotel room and I was the only one in it for 2 days .
Oh and yes I got $500.00 orientation pay .
Now everything they state here is go to your recruiter for assistance.
They’ll teach you how to take a shower ?
If that isn’t fair warning to void this place, I don’t know what is ? ⚠️
Nice, what company is that?
I’m really thinking about joining the London team soon!
What about internal transfer to different divisions once you’ve gotten your experience? Ex: Going from OTR to Tanker.. Would that be an easy process?
Hi Zach. Yes, We've updated the internal transfer process and you can search and apply for internal roles with the Schneider Compass app. You would just need to speak with your leader.
One week with a road trainer is shorter than any program I've heard of. Why so short?
Ya not long enough. That’s what worried me.
Every company is not for everybody. You have to find the right one for you.
Hey Derrick, yes we couldn't agree more. Thank you for your comment!
Sounds good. Hope I'm allowed, after I get a driver's license.
I had considered maybe driving a truck especially now there are automatic transmission trucks now and yes I know I'm dumb. I have a Class B for driving a school bus which I have air brakes on my license needless to say. I'm seeing if this field is a good fit or not.
I literally can’t wait to join the team I just need to get my permit
Kso want to add that I started out with Schneider good conpany
Great video
Im heading there in a few days at Dallas terminal, I would like to know if I'll get 45 and 90 degree backing during those 2 weeks, thats my biggest concern.
Hey how was orientation Iam going in a week
Hola que tal tengo cdl a pero no se mucho ingles aun asi puedo trabajar con ustedes?
The training I received from schnieder was excellent but my training engineer was rude to put it mildly. I still learnt from him though
Learnt?
Ich habe trucking von Schneider gelernt.
Yankee Trucker -YES learnt!!!
This is a terrible company with terrible pay. Only work here if you are learning and get your experience and move on eventually.
is this the company that is trying to get driverless trucks?
Yes it's one of the ones who has invested in that, which doesn't give me the warm amd fuzzies about them.
Can I start this training with a cdl permit? Or do I need the full license
Hi there, you need a CDL in order to apply for a job at Schneider and attend orientation. If you are still looking for a truck driving school to help you get a Class A CDL, Schneider can help: schneiderjobs.com/truck-driving-jobs/inexperienced/find-truck-driving-school
@@schneiderjobs the web site mentions you do cdl training though. So which is it or is it both?

I'm hoping to go back to trucking next year. I have 3 years otr experience and hadn't driven for over 10 years. I'm looking for a good company to drive for and Schneider might be one of them.
That is exciting! Looking forward to you joining our team!
Can you also teach them how to come down a mountain so they don’t come down at 5 miles an hour riding their brakes. I do daily mountain runs and I just love the smell of breaks in the morning. That’s how I know there is a Swift Schneider or Amazon driver in front of me.
Exactly what I'd be worried about. What companies do you suggest for OTR training that handle all weather, mountain and inner city driving?
Pray I can get this❤❤❤
Schneider pay with W2 or 1099?
Great video!
I consider Schneider National the best company to start your driving career.
Thats great to hear man. What do they pay during orientation and training for recent cdl graduates? After you upgrade to solo, what's the cpm?
@@abrahamdabo2576 Sorry I can't be of more help, but I started out with Schneider back in 2008. I'm sure their rates have changed quite a bit. I have nothing negative to say about my experience with them. I was assigned to a dedicated account with Sears out of Gouldsboro PA as soon as I finished my training with them. We offer up to $7,000 in tuition reimbursement to a refresher course with partner trucking schools. That means you would attend a refresher course at a trucking school, and once hired on with Schneider, we'd help repay your school loan.
Nothing "independent " about it anymore. You've been warned
And
excellent information How would you apply from Peru to the company
I need help please, I'd like to know if there is any company that woukd hire a CDL class A driver without experience, or that at least this company would provide training in order to release a driver on the Road, i almost got my CDL but the issue is that most companies wont hire you without experience

If you already took your DOT physical when you got your permit, do you have to take it again at orientation?
No, im currently with Schneider on my 4th week train ring with my TE (Training Engineer) ....no you don't have to again. Normally when you talk to a recruiter over the phone they with send you an email prompting you to upload up if you already have one along with license
