I have a 2021 LC500 Convertible, and I love it. It’s an amazing vehicle, and it has very unique but gorgeous looks. Nothing else like it on the road, and they’re very few of them roaming around. I couldn’t agree more about the front camera. It’s absolutely needed and very disappointing that they didn’t include one on a $113K car. I really don’t understand the WHY around that decision. Lexus needs to be at the forefront of technology for Japanese cars, and it’s not. Also, where is the wireless Apple Car Play? For 2021, they should’ve had it installed, like other auto manufacturers. I also agree that the quality of the screen of the infotainment system should be much better. The trackpad doesn’t bother me that much, and actually prevents fingerprints all over the beautiful dash, but the quality of the screen and the graphics should be much better. All that said though, I’m very happy with this purchase. It’s really an amazing Luxury GT, that is very comfortable, sounds amazing, looks amazing, and is a lot of fun.
Agreed to all your input. My only assumption as to why Lexus hasn't updated the infotainment was because they didn't want to mess around with the layout of the dash. They made that upgrade to the LS and the ES, but the new screen seemed like an afterthought instead of being integrated into the dash. As for the front camera, I'm still perplexed why they never added one in later models - still quite confusing. Nevertheless, as you said, this vehicle definitely has more positives than negatives and probably on top of its segment IMO.
There's no perfect car out there, but the LC is a great GT. Trunk space could be a little bigger and they improved on the ergonomics for the 2024 MY, with a new infotainment system. This is a NA engine, hard to get low-end power with no forced induction....
You have an absolutely beautiful looking car there. Very well done with the exhaust update. Shockingly nice exhaust note. The only thing I would have thought that needs changing now are the fake exaust outlets. I'd have ripped them off and had the armytrix showing.

I love the stock exhaust. While yours is louder, to me, in the video clip it sounds Raspy and too “Mustang” I prefer the classy sound from factory. Why mess with perfection? 😊

Its a learning curve but every car you get into is. What cam is on the car sucks! Lexus has better cams. Why cant they replace what is there? And id love a front cam. I love this car tho. I just wanna hug it when i see it.
This car starts on 163 000$ in my country, totally gonna get it in the future, with the armytrix exhaust ofc. My country hates emissions from cars, thats why its so expensive here, the hybrid starts at 129 000$...

Completely agree with your likes, but the dislikes justify themselves. Naturally it's gonna be considerably more expensive than an ES, since it's considered their "halo" coupe...and insurance is prolly more expensive because of the expensive oem components that are bespoke to this car. Example: CF door sills to replace - $4,500 A PIECE!
Nothing yet. Both Boostlogic and Tuned by LOI have been trying with nothing to show. But keep in mind, this isn't a full blown sports car. Even if an ECU crack would be able to unlock 50hp - 80hp (at best), it wouldn't shave much time off the 0-60 or ¼ mile times - she's still pretty heavy - approx 4,300 lbs!

Like this car is n/a no forced induction like turbo or supercharger and even though the exhaust sounds great you will get smoked by a bmw twin turbo m3 m4 m6 all amg cars and hellcats ! any car with forced induction has the ability to tune for more power my m6 came with 560hp and with a simple stage 2 tune I now have 770hp not counting exhaust and intakes I just couldn’t pay that much money for a car that is absolutely gorgeous but will get smoked by a car half it’s price!
I love my 2021 lc500 dark night inspiration series love the fact that 100 of these cars were made so it’s going to be extremely hard to find another car like mines in my area, car sounds amazing looks amazing it’s pretty comfortable for a 2 door car however I wish it had a bit more hp the car looks and sounds faster than it actually is

Agree 100 percent on the dislikes. I just got a 2018 model in white. I wonder if I can wrap the silver in black and still the same effect visually you got with your car. Mine has blind spot sensors that alert me when pulling into parking but Iam not sure yet if that will help with curbs. A camera would be so much better. Your exhaust is unbelievable. That sounds like a must have upgrade. Your car is stunning!

Until I watched this vid I Haven’t seen a single LC500 where those trims around both front and rear lanterns were color matching the car paint. If I owned one that would be one of very first customizations I’d do, that bothers me a lot mainly the rear ones with that awful chrome part, what were they thinking ✋😖 Just a small detail that bothers me and won’t change my idea that’s a magnificent car design overall❣️
I'd be curious to see that - where the trims match the vehicle paint. Only thing tho, is that you wouldn't get a clear differentiation between the car's body and the trims....still would be nice to see.👍

No need for a rear view camera.... just open the rooftop and you will see everything....if you need cameras everywhere to help you operate this Lexus LC500 then you should drive it at all....
Not sure if you're familiar with the LC, it doesn't have a sunroof that opens, so you can't stick your head out. I can still drive the LC with 0 cameras, but all I'm saying is that a vehicle of this caliber should have some cameras....the RX has a 360 degree camera.
A lot of American cars have loud exhausts (without modifications), but are still slow....thus isn't supposed to be a speed demon, it's a grand tourer that mixes both luxury and a little speed....
I own a RC350 f sport I adore abs love Lexus To me the LC in beige is the most elegant and beautiful interior in any car I will take the LC over 90% of Ferraris / Aston’s etc etc

Possibly one of THE best exhaust notes of a V8 EVER. That 10 iCVT is shitty. A dual clutch would be so much better. It's also drop dead gorgeous. The Hybrid model is kind of a joke.
@@RichWithCars On that particular transmission, Gears 1 thru 7 are great. That exhaust from first to third is a beast. Fourth to Seventh it tends to fall off just a tad, and forget the last three. They are just overdrive, and I guess you will save about a thimble of gas per tank if you are not pushing it.
@williewade1 you are absolutely on point. Though I'd say the exhaust prolly still sounds good up until 4th. The switch from 4th to 5th in Sport S+ is the last transition where you get a nice crisp shift on that 10-speed. Anything beyond 5th....meh. Like you said, the last 3 gears are ultimately overdrive. I usually just have my drive mode in ECO when cruising, and Sport S+ with manual when having fun between 1st and 4th....
The color of this one is Nightfall Mica. Depends on what year you're looking for, but the new ones (2024) offer a blue similar to Structural Blue called Ultrasonic Blue 2.0

Unfortunately not. They haven't even out a FRONT CAMERA for the 2022's! Big miss on Lexus' part with that. Really shameful to have a lower priced Lexus (such as an RX) with 360 cameras but the more expensive LC's can't even get a front facing camera...🤦♂️

@LittleYellowRice ohhhhh. I had to take the mirror housing apart and change the lights (bulbs) - which is an entire piece in itself that has notches that shove into the mirror itself. I purchased from a supplier from Ali Express.

I wouldn't say that it's an "issue", unless it bothers you. Those brakes are more performance oriented, with more metallic material based pads...I personally prefer the bigger bite, and the squeaking doesn't bother me as much. Lexus did provide a TSB to get the pads replaced with a softer material to have less squeaking. I just prefer the original ones - only downside tho, is the excessive brake dust....

I had the unfortunate event of an unseen manhole that was 1.5" above ground and cracked my front lip - which I had to replace. I've been lucky tho that I only replaced my lip once in 5 years of ownership.
Yeah...the number one take from this is "I want my car to look "MENACING"." In fact, why not make everything in your life look menacing? There are several decals you could install on your car to really make it look MENACING. I'm just not sure when the "MENACING" look became desirable but if that's really the image you want to project to everyone who sees you driving your car, there are so many MORE things you can do. I guess the best way to go through life is to project a MENACING look. So, enjoy your MENACING looking Lexus LC 500 and have a wonderful, but MENACING life if that's what you want.
Hey bro nice vid I heard the first model year cars (2018s) have some issues and they recommend the 2020s instead but then again the 2018s are much cheaper tho Whats your take?
2018 models had a clunkier transmission and the ride quality is more firm. 2019 fixed the transmission issue so it has slightly faster shifts and the suspension was updated so the ride quality is softer. 2020 didnt have any new changes it just added a new color choices. 2021 Is the same as the 2019 and 2020 but it had another suspension update and the ride quality is even more soft. 2019 is the sweat spot if you want you want a LC with the issues fixed, 2020 isnt worth it. I would stay away from 2018s even if they are cheaper unless you dont care about faster shifts and softer rider quality. Also 2018s dont have apple carplay unless you can add it at the dealer.
Thanks man. No major issues on the 2018's imo. There was a recall on all 2UR-GSE engines for either low or high fuel pumps...but this was for 2018's until 2021's. Other potential issues which might be associated with 2018's would be jerky transmissions, dusty/noisy brakes and slightly harsher suspension. These are all tweaks that Lexus made to newer models. Suspension is now a little softer, transmission is smoother and they now offer a less aggressive brake pad on non-performance trims as standard.

Agreed on the lack of performance upgrade potential... but you don't get this car for performance numbers or technical spec sheet... unfortunately for those who's want to up the power, as u said... not much out there.... primarily to the fact that the ECU is so hard to crack...😔
I think it’s fast enough and prefer the reliability factor that it comes with. It’s not terribly quick off the line but the upper RPM power is impressive.
Quality by Novel is supreme. I liked the sound profile of the Armytrix system. And I couldn't say many negatives on the quality from Armytrix. Taiwanese company, still pretty good. I know that Novel is in production of headers for the LC...but I'm not gonna put any, as it will make it obnoxiously loud....

The LC500 needs a major update in terms of trunk storage, better low end power, more advanced ergonomics, more assertive brakes.

How much did you get yours? There is a 2018 10k miles certified which has 2year maintenance and 2year warranty for 77k I’m debating on getting.

No need for a rear view camera.... just open the rooftop and you will see everything....if you need cameras everywhere to help you operate this Lexus LC500 then you should drive it at all....
Not sure if you're familiar with the LC, it doesn't have a sunroof that opens, so you can't stick your head out. I can still drive the LC with 0 cameras, but all I'm saying is that a vehicle of this caliber should have some cameras....the RX has a 360 degree camera.

You can make any car sound good with exhaust but the car is painfully SLOW
A lot of American cars have loud exhausts (without modifications), but are still slow....thus isn't supposed to be a speed demon, it's a grand tourer that mixes both luxury and a little speed....

Possibly one of THE best exhaust notes of a V8 EVER. That 10 iCVT is shitty. A dual clutch would be so much better. It's also drop dead gorgeous. The Hybrid model is kind of a joke.
I agree with you on everything except the transmission. For a 10-speed auto when pushing it, it's almost as fast as a DCT...Otherwise a little clunky
@@RichWithCars On that particular transmission, Gears 1 thru 7 are great. That exhaust from first to third is a beast. Fourth to Seventh it tends to fall off just a tad, and forget the last three. They are just overdrive, and I guess you will save about a thimble of gas per tank if you are not pushing it.
@williewade1 you are absolutely on point. Though I'd say the exhaust prolly still sounds good up until 4th. The switch from 4th to 5th in Sport S+ is the last transition where you get a nice crisp shift on that 10-speed. Anything beyond 5th....meh. Like you said, the last 3 gears are ultimately overdrive. I usually just have my drive mode in ECO when cruising, and Sport S+ with manual when having fun between 1st and 4th....

The color of this one is Nightfall Mica. Depends on what year you're looking for, but the new ones (2024) offer a blue similar to Structural Blue called Ultrasonic Blue 2.0

Unfortunately not. They haven't even out a FRONT CAMERA for the 2022's! Big miss on Lexus' part with that. Really shameful to have a lower priced Lexus (such as an RX) with 360 cameras but the more expensive LC's can't even get a front facing camera...🤦♂️

@LittleYellowRice ohhhhh. I had to take the mirror housing apart and change the lights (bulbs) - which is an entire piece in itself that has notches that shove into the mirror itself. I purchased from a supplier from Ali Express.

Completely understand, as my Samsung Note 20 Ultra was too big to place anywhere except the middle glove box. Bought my holder from ProClip USA
do the brakes still squeak or did they fix that issue??
I wouldn't say that it's an "issue", unless it bothers you. Those brakes are more performance oriented, with more metallic material based pads...I personally prefer the bigger bite, and the squeaking doesn't bother me as much. Lexus did provide a TSB to get the pads replaced with a softer material to have less squeaking. I just prefer the original ones - only downside tho, is the excessive brake dust....

I do my best not to scrape, and plan ahead my route many times. I had the unfortunate event of an unseen manhole that was 1.5" above ground and cracked my front lip - which I had to replace. I've been lucky tho that I only replaced my lip once in 5 years of ownership.
Yeah...the number one take from this is "I want my car to look "MENACING"." In fact, why not make everything in your life look menacing? There are several decals you could install on your car to really make it look MENACING. I'm just not sure when the "MENACING" look became desirable but if that's really the image you want to project to everyone who sees you driving your car, there are so many MORE things you can do. I guess the best way to go through life is to project a MENACING look. So, enjoy your MENACING looking Lexus LC 500 and have a wonderful, but MENACING life if that's what you want.

I heard the first model year cars (2018s) have some issues and they recommend the 2020s instead but then again the 2018s are much cheaper tho
Whats your take?
2018 models had a clunkier transmission and the ride quality is more firm. 2019 fixed the transmission issue so it has slightly faster shifts and the suspension was updated so the ride quality is softer. 2020 didnt have any new changes it just added a new color choices. 2021 Is the same as the 2019 and 2020 but it had another suspension update and the ride quality is even more soft. 2019 is the sweat spot if you want you want a LC with the issues fixed, 2020 isnt worth it. I would stay away from 2018s even if they are cheaper unless you dont care about faster shifts and softer rider quality. Also 2018s dont have apple carplay unless you can add it at the dealer.

Thanks man. No major issues on the 2018's imo. There was a recall on all 2UR-GSE engines for either low or high fuel pumps...but this was for 2018's until 2021's. Other potential issues which might be associated with 2018's would be jerky transmissions, dusty/noisy brakes and slightly harsher suspension. These are all tweaks that Lexus made to newer models. Suspension is now a little softer, transmission is smoother and they now offer a less aggressive brake pad on non-performance trims as standard.

A lot of owners say that....but Lexus purposely did that to emulate a calm Japanese environment....but it is quite dim in there...
I love this car so much the only thing that made me go with my m6 over this was lack of performance upgrades! Like this car is n/a no forced induction like turbo or supercharger and even though the exhaust sounds great you will get smoked by a bmw twin turbo m3 m4 m6 all amg cars and hellcats ! any car with forced induction has the ability to tune for more power my m6 came with 560hp and with a simple stage 2 tune I now have 770hp not counting exhaust and intakes I just couldn’t pay that much money for a car that is absolutely gorgeous but will get smoked by a car half it’s price!
Agreed on the lack of performance upgrade potential... but you don't get this car for performance numbers or technical spec sheet... unfortunately for those who's want to up the power, as u said... not much out there.... primarily to the fact that the ECU is so hard to crack...😔
I think it’s fast enough and prefer the reliability factor that it comes with. It’s not terribly quick off the line but the upper RPM power is impressive.

Try Novel headers and exhaust it’s way better than armytrix and japan made
Quality by Novel is supreme. I liked the sound profile of the Armytrix system. And I couldn't say many negatives on the quality from Armytrix. Taiwanese company, still pretty good. I know that Novel is in production of headers for the LC...but I'm not gonna put any, as it will make it obnoxiously loud....
The exhaust “note”/ RACKET RUINS it. Sounds like💩. All that noise and it’s still slow as hell.
