On a personal level, I tell 'greenhorns' that mostly what I find is "LEVERITE"... "it's not Gold, so ya leave-er-rite there".... every old miner knows this joke. Met ya Jeff in Arizona a few years ago. It was a privilege, and although your videos are entertaining - there is an extensive mining background and education behind it. But still, I love his attitude too!!! You're right on about that too. He's our Distraction like Shirley Temple was in the 30's for our parents. Aaawwwh. There's really nothing new under the sun. Just reruns to the new learners. Amazing , gold mining has been around since forever, I guess. Or almost.
I'm going through this myself in Liberty Wa. The BLM controls nearly nothing around Liberty with all of the great gold rich gold deposits. I talked the the local BLM office and was sent to the local Geologists who knew nothing about the Liberty area and I just amateur Geologist had to school this guy about where and how the gold got there. Amazing lol

How I found Jeff and slim .it was a long. Long time ago. I was looking for information for my chev Tahoe on TH-cam in the video section half way down the page. There he was making a chain mill rock chusher watch the video and another video . now I'm waiting for the day I walk over the next hill side. And find slim and jeff .in the years I have been prospecting. I have found many strange things and you tubers in the Arizona desert un till then. Happy trails jeff and the crew. Excellent info, Jeff! Heading right over to My Land Matters and will donate then start my research to plan my trips for the coming warmer months. Dabbled in it a few years back but have since learned that knowledge is the key to finding where the good spots are. Thank you for shortening my learning curve! most people don't hike bring your gps mark a way point view the coordinates on google maps to see the terrain hike back a few miles (no roads ,dirt bike paths) just foot paths when you realize no goes there start sampling if the area is known for gold it's ALL YOURS cause no one is back there gotta get in some decent shape I only have like a few pounds in my prospecting pack up to you
Another awesome video. I learn something new each video I watch. One question is what is the best low cost GPS to find areas that are marked so a person won't enter a nearby claim?
buying a claim or two is on my list after retirement,,first hole has to be deep enough to hold pet rattlesnakes ,,,,,and claim jumpers. just til after supper....
"Go to where it has already been found",....hmmm,..The problem with that is when it was found somebody had to go to where it was not found to find it so it can be found and we can go there where it's found and not go to where it is not found which is where we started out at,...not found so we can find it so it will be found. That's genius Slim.

Hi Jeff, I have been using that Map program for a month and it is really good,the modest donation is worth the cash saved not buying maps anymore. OK yes you can see the placers on the map,just drag the letter "i" over to the section and when the drop down shows you can see the placers name and info. just click the map link there and the map-downloads with details of the claims and placers. Also I thought that the white color on the status map means open land and it is OK to metal detect there ,Whats up?
