    Had an Oxford Oximiser 900 for a while now. Tbh had it on but never really new what the readout was telling me, as long as it started, who cares!? This guide however in a couple of minutes has explained the basics of the readout and what it is actually doing. Many thanks.

    There's a lot of talk about how technically speaking, AGM batteries need the higher 14.7v charge rate to fully charge the battery to 100%, most chargers only charge to 14.4v equating to 80% charge capacity. But those same people forget that any car or bike's charging system will stop charging at 14.4v anyway lol.
    I have this Oxford charger(the blue one you mentioned) that's pushing 15 years old now and yet it still works fine. Love how it shows the charge rate and voltage of the battery, many don't have this for some reason?

    Neat device, I have had no problems with mine (I have 2 running) - cheaper and less hassle than a new battery as well. Win win really. (Tip - For neatness and to stop the oximiser swinging about on the cable, if your bike is right next to the socket, you can bond/adhere the wall bracket to the plug)

    I had an aniversary edition one that failed after 18 months taking the motorcycle battery with it. When I complained to an ex Oxford rep I was told they weren't very reliable and had loads back.

      Yeah, I ended up getting the Aldi motorcycle and car charger instead, which works brilliant ,and was less than half the price 👍

    Just purchased one today. My old oxomiser kept my battery good for 13 years before the oxomiser finally failed, probably due to water ingress? Best £29.00 of anyone's money if my new battery lasts half that long again 😊

    Yes. The anniversary is blue, doesn't come with a wall mount or crocodile clips either. The leads are way to short on these newer Oxford chargers.
    My 360T Oxford charger was far superior in display, information and both leads from the plug and to the bike socket were much longer.
    Anniversary £28. Regular £31....

    Does it need to be with the key ignition on?

    • @Crohniebiker
      @Crohniebiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it will charge the battery directly so won't need to be ignition on .thanks for watching

      Then something is wrong because when the key's off shows 0.0 0.0

    • @Crohniebiker
      @Crohniebiker  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would try charging the battery for a couple of days because it's a very slow charger then if its still not working there's something else wrong .

    I have a similar one, a C-Tek, good bit of kit, I don’t need it for the GS mind, that’s really good and never seems to lose charge,where Helens Africa twin does, nice vid buddy😎👏

    Hey, my E-motorbike uses a 72V battery at 30AH/40AH I havent checked forsure. Would something like this work with its battery. Thank you.

    • @Crohniebiker
      @Crohniebiker  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi thanks for watching.
      I don't think this charger would be suitable for a 72v battery. It's only designed for a 12v system.

      It does what it says on the tin Optimiser .
      Although a good product I had a Datatool optimiser for the best part of 20 years and decided to buy this Oxford one based on the reviews. Although it does a job it feels and looks as if 5 years would be a good life span. Not the quality of a Datatool one but as I said it does a job. Its ok. Biggest let down is the length of the leads it comes with and the need to use an extension lead to reach the bike at less than 2 metres away from the socket. Takes all of 5 minutes to fit as do the most of them and thats using the permanent fittings supplied.

      Good value and easy to use
      Happy with the optimiser. I'm not at all mechanical minded but this took minutes to set up. The only thing I would have liked is a longer lead, other than that I'm really happy with the product and value for money

      3rd purchased
      This is the 3rd charger purchased to run on another bike recently bought. It does exactly what it says!

    Hi, but why is there a mains charger? I want to buy one but have no garage, i thought this device can just sit under your seat tucked away does it really need to be connected to a mains for the device battery

    • @Crohniebiker
      @Crohniebiker  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes this is a type of trickle charger for keeping your battery fully charged when you're not using the bike ,for example over winter. It must be plugged into the mains .hop this helps .

    • @Ben24784
      @Ben24784 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crohnie Biker thanks, i think with this it doesnt always need to be in mains but can connect to your battery and just simply forget about it and it will stagger a charge

    So I bought a cheap shit one of Amazon for £12 it worked charged the battery (although it was near full very vague) then took it for a ride came back home and on idle it shut down……
    I’m like what happened?? I had forgotten to plug the plastic back on so the metal charger part was touching a metal on the bike and discharged the entire battery 😂😂
    But I can see that no metals for accidents in case the cap comes off!!!
    So should be all ok and it stops which is great!!!
    Ordered one arriving tomorrow!
    Are you having /had any problems? I only use my R6 for the nice summer weather!!!!

    • @Crohniebiker
      @Crohniebiker  ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience they work best if you're battery is in really good condition, I find if you're battery is old and worn down they won't bring it back to full capacity although they will still probably get ybike started once you unplug the charger . Hope you have success with yours tho and thanks for watching 👍
