Here we go through the process of installing the ALP HD Playfield Upgrade Kit from Buystuffarcades.com using a LG 32GP750 which is a 2K 165Hz Monitor.
It took me a few weeks to complete this project and compile the video. I'm a Dad, I have a day job and volunteer locally so those things take precedence over my ability to work on these projects. Either way I hope you enjoy it.
Here are the PC specs, it was built 2 - 3 years ago so some parts may not be available: pcpartpicker.c...

Thanks for making this video and sharing the whole process! I have a heavily modified ALP, but I gotta say, I wouldn't be willing to do all of that work and spend $400-$600 between the upgrade monitor and BSA kit. Certainly not on an ALP that cost a total of $800 to buy in the first place. When the playfield on my ALP fails, I'll simply buy a 2K or 4K monitor, retrofit it, and go strictly OTG with a simple Display Port cable out the back. At most I'll buy the stand-alone mounting kit for $150.

This the kit buystuff charges $300 for? I'd be happy just buying the lvds kit bag and buy a $15 2x4 foot of sanded plywood from home depot.
    Anyways looks great, nice job

If you are not interested in full kit you can always message them and see if they would sell you the Playfield conversion parts without the mounting kit.
In my experience Buy Stuff has been really cool with that sort of thing.

@BillyWoods-Mods most definitely, and they would do that. Their service has been good with the stuff I ordered from them in past. I just kinda wish some prices were not a bit beyond my means. I ended up canceling modding an HD when the back box 2.0 deluxe shipped was going to be $770. With spare monitors laying around, I'll make one. But their stuff is top quality always. They did just introduce a cheaper backbox which is nice.

@@Roadsurfer2k11 Quality or not, most people can't justify the price tag for the upgraded backboxes (or even this $300 screen upgrade kit that doesn't include the monitor). When the entire ALP can be purchased all day long from AtGames direct for $799, it's insane to consider spending $500-$700 on a backbox and then another $500-$600 on an upgraded playfield and BSA kit. $1,000-$1,300 in upgrade parts for an $800 machine! If you're going to be investing $2k or more into the machine, why not spend another grand or two and go with a proper full-featured commercial VPIN? I get that it costs BSA money to design and assemble the kits etc...etc..., but the price relative to what you get is just too much. Its like buying a junker Honda car for $500 and then spending $1,000 on new wheels and tires for it. Yeah, it's an upgrade, but why not just buy a better car to begin with?

@@BillyWoods-Mods It's not even necessary to ask, the listing for the kit has a dropdown with separate options for all different needs (just the conversion kits, mounting kit with conversion, or the mounting kit alone).

You mention having done additional trim work on the plastic to better fit the LG monitor. What did you cut off beyond what’s shown in the BSS install video? I did mine as they showed - but there’s a bit of the monitor’s “chin” visible. It’s not a huge deal…but if cutting a bit more plastic can improve it, why not!

I had to cut the pieces out completely. In their video there is still a little bit left behind, but they were also using the Sceptre which has a thinner bezel.
My cuts were flush to the frame so there was nothing left, you may even need grind or sand down the cut area little bit depending on your monitor.

@@BillyWoods-Mods I had to with the LG model as well. The gasket tape was too short that came with mine kit and I didn't like the the look and replaced it with a thinner type which I think looks better. Overall, very pleased with the mod.

Exact same thing I did using the LG.

Great video! Are you familiar with the Buystuff Haptics kit ? The reason I ask ... After installing my Buystuff display kit my backbox sound is only working on the native ALP games. My haptics speakers work for both native and PC ... but the backbox speakers do not work when running OTG /PC mode. Any thoughts ? Thanks

Sorry, I have been away for a few weeks.
I am not really familiar with their kit, I got the amp, but picked up my own exciters and a secondary amp to split everything off.
My suggestion would be to reach out to Buy Stuff, their support is beyond great!
I would suggest joining their Facebook group: facebook.com/groups/buystuffarcades or hitting them up on their chat via: www.buystuffarcades.com/
