Wow! This is the Holy Grail of digital sticker videos. At last someone shares how and what files to put the stickers into so we can upload to Etsy. Thanks for the clear and concise tutorial! I’m saving this video and subscribing!
I honestly couldn't fathom why digital stickers were so pricey considering I make my own all the time and I can whip them up in a snap. Annnnnnd THEN i got a wild hair up my backside and thought I'd try to sell some of my stickers (ADHD is fun😂) Anyway now I know that I don't have the patience or hyperfocus to do all this. You sticker sellers are amazing. You don't charge enough for your time.
Amazing ive been searching for this kind of content, still unsure how people have learned to do this stuff but this helps. Does anyone else think she sounds like Jennifer Aniston or am i desperate to watch friends.
Soooo glad you found my channel 🥰 I have been learning the past 3 years how to use procreate and using it as my main art media. There is always something to learn even after 3 years.
Thank you thank you thank you!! I've had a few followers ask me to turn my sticker sheets into digital sticker sets, but I had no idea where to start. This helped me so much!! I'm excited to start on this journey!
Super helpful video, thank you! I doodle a lot on my ipad and thought about gathering them together for a sticker pack but realized I only knew how to do the drawing part and no idea on how to do the rest!
So appreciative that you were willing to share such valuable and informative info. Instructions worked fabulously, but I sort of hit a wall when it came to doing the mockup for selling. Can you share how you keep your file size smaller. The jpg I saved from Procreate comes in at around 24" and by the time I sz it down, my listing photo isn't very crisp. Haven't seen a new video in a bit; hope all is well. Thanks Alana
This is a great question Margie! I personally use photoshop to create my mock up photos for listings. But it is totally doable in procreate. I would make a 10in x 10in canvas and make sure the dpi is high too. If it’s set at 72dpi, that’s probably where you are loosing your quality. Set it at 150 or 300. If you start to loose layers too quickly, merge some together to give you more space. And thank you for caring. I am doing well, been busy getting another business off the ground the last 3 months and haven’t had the time to make videos lately. But I appreciate your comments and questions. I try to check daily for them. I want to fully help you all along your journey 💖
Would you consider teaching on Skillshare I really want to get into digital sales but have no clue where to start an in depth step by step lesson from beginning to end would be great and I know this will be in demand on Skillshare as there are not many lessons to do with using Procreate in particular for designing and making digital downloads or even physical items to sell on Etsy your so easy to follow
Thank you sooooooooo much! I had been praying and debating to download good notes to specifically sale digital planner stickers ... I am tooooo excited to watch!
great video, thanks so much for posting. how do you get your stickers so uniform and aligned in goodnotes? i can't ever get them to be the same size or aligned.
Thank you for creating this video! I just started making digital stickers and I'm also hoping to publish on Etsy. I just have a question; how is cropping and saving as individual files in GoodNotes different from exporting the individual layers in Procreate as PNG files?
This is a really good question! So I crop in goodnotes because it’s quick and easy to do there. If you have many layers/stickers on a canvas in procreate and you crop the stickers there before moving them, you will be cropping off anything that is on the page that is out of the box. Procreate is a pain like that.
ive watched sooo many videos on how to do this and it seems like as a Samsung user im just screwed lol. why does everything always have to be goodnotes 😫😓great video!! im just starting to get frustrated with apple having the only good apps for this stuff lol
I use photoshop to create mine. There are other ways. But I screenshot my page layout in goodnotes and place that in a iPad element and play with the background and titles and fonts.
Thank you so much for sharing ! I am so glad to learn that you can drag and drop your Procreate layers in Goodnotes directly ! I have a question; in which format you can export your pre-cropped stickers so it's working on other app notes ? Is it your zip file with all your individual stickers ? Thanks again for all this info
You’re very welcome! Isn’t that the best hack ever!!? So the easiest way is you drop them into your goodnotes app and crop them like I shown. Then you can open the file app in split screen. And you take the goodnotes cropped image and drop it to a file folder. It will save it just like it is and then I zip the file so it’s compresses.
I love this video! You explained the process so well and I’m thinking about starting a digital sticker Etsy shop of my own too! I have one question: the stickers only need to be uploaded once on the website bc they are digital correct? (If ur not sure what I mean, I mean do u need to restock them or not bc they’re digital?)
Hi, great video thanks, Ive been making these for myself on procreate for my digital planner in goodnotes, but I have a question, can I make a compressed zip file using my ipad for the cropped images? Thanks!!
I don’t have Etsy any longer. But it’s pretty easy to follow. It won’t let you make anything active till you’ve gone through it all and done all the things.
If I was to make one sticker at a time and save each individual one as a png would I just skip over that step and go straight to putting them in a good notes page? Thank you so much!
Hi, I have been creating digital stickers for my shop but the goodnotes file is so huge! How large are your goodnotes files when you pre crop them with such a large canvas and DPI? I know 300 DPI is standard for print but it seems like it wouldn't be necessary for just a small sticker on an iPad.
So this is a personal preference as far as what DPI you should use. I use 300 because I blow up my drawings sometimes and want the best quality. Some use as low as 72. It’s all what you want to use. My files are always large and I compress them.
Hello, thanks for this video, I have an issue with my stickers I’ve made them on a big canvas however when I export as a png and try and use them, I make them smaller but the stickers goes all pixelated? I did the same dimensions as you?
If your iPad or computer will not open them with a double tap, there are websites and apps that you can use. Search unzip files and you should locating that will work.
Great question! With digital downloads, you upload the files to the listing. Once the payment is cleared by Etsy the customer can download the files attached to the order. You do not have to send them manually.
Thanks for making this video!! Im a little confused, why did you save the images individually if we've created the png file? Is that in case you want to mix your stickers one day?
When I save the image, I did so in procreate. I don’t crop my stickers in procreate because it will cut off the other stickers permanently too. When I bring the images to goodnotes is where I crop them. You don’t have to crop them if you don’t want to. But having a cropped image/sticker keeps the page cleaned up so I don’t accidentally lasso other things later.
This was extremely detailed!! One question I was watching someone else’s video and they commented that they sold digital products because you don’t charge sales tax for digital downloads is that correct? The tax and fees are extremely confusing so any help is appreciated. Thank you! New to all of this.
Are you wanting the app goodnotes? That is in the Apple store for download. If you are wanting my Etsy store for stickers, go to Etsy.com and look up BearInMindPlannerCo
Can you make and sell digital stickers without goodnotes? I’d love to try it out but I don’t have and can not get goodnotes and procreate but I use autodesk sketchbook which is quite similar. Could you use keynote or canva instead of goodnotes and create a full page of stickers similar to a goodnotes sticker pack that you export? What file/how would you export and file them for sale? A png file? Tia
You can definitely make stickers is many ways. You will have to have them in individual files. Not on a page like the goodnotes has. But it will still work I have sold them not in goodnotes files too
That shouldn’t be a problem, on your iPad you have an app that is your files. It’s a blue file folder. After you save you items to a file, preferably all in one , you can use the select option at the top. Select your desired items, and press in the bottom right corner the circle with 3 dots, you will have an option to choose from and one will be compress.
Thank you for doing this...but I am a bit loss. I have my cropped sticker sheet in Good Notes....when I export it to say Google Drive (where I hold all my stuff)...it does not have just the sheet...just a lot of other stuff. I want to get my shop up and running but having a horrible time trying to figure out how to get my sticker sheet uploaded to Etsy. If you could help me out of this nightmare! Thanks again!
You want to get your stickers arranged on a sheet in goodnotes. When you are ready, export and make sure you have this page or single page selected. That will export the page as it is and as a goodnotes file.
@@Alanasgiftshop1 thank you for the fast reply. Yes, I did that. When it gets to my Google Drive, it comes in with 3 files, attachements, notes, search. Having an issue finding the one page with my cropped files. I will keep at it!

I was wondering if i make digital stickers in illustrator. Can my digital stickers use in goodnotes? Is there anything I need to do to make my stickers can use in goodnote?
Hi, to make this goodnotes precropped stickers you need to have the goodnote app? is there any option we can create this sheet, without goodnotes, but still work on goodnotes?
Great question. To export as a goodnotes file, you do need goodnotes app. You can make files in any way or use other platforms like google drive, but they will be individual pngs and your customers will have to upload individually. Personally, my customers look to see I offer a goodnotes file to save them from the headache. This is just how I do it. There are other ways out there that work too.
Alana, First instance of my GoodNotes file exceeding 20MB. Issue I'm having is that I started with 22.5. I've eliminated images from the page, tried resizing to think that reducing would make a difference. After all my attempts and reexporting for the 4th time, my 22.5 has continued to grow to 34.6MB!!!! Is this a case of less is MORE? !?! Really though, any suggestions for me thanks?
Is this the size of the file after you zip it? If you zip it it will compress the size. Some computers can do it by right clicking the file and selecting compress. If you can’t do that, there are free websites that will compress it too.
I’m sure sites like smartPDF or ilovePDF would work just fine. My computer, I can right click the file and I have an option to compress it. It zips it up and usually the size is perfect
I'm trying to figure out how to make my own cropped stickers using my laptop (Windows) or Surface Pro. I don't have any Apple products or Procreate. Do you know of any programs/apps I can use for that?
I am the complete opposite of you, I don’t have any windows programs or devices. Lol I am so sorry I am not as much help. You could look up using photoshop, it is manageable to do cropped images there for stickers. A really long time ago I did that with some stickers when I was first getting started. Good luck
hi i have a question and i need help. I'm designing a planner on the keynote. Although I couldn't reduce its size too much, it opens too late in the goodnotes app. Even after opening, the pages are loaded again and again during the transitions between pages. naturally I cannot use my planners. Most people said that this situation was caused by the device I was using. I am using iPad 8th generation. Seeing the same device in your video, I thought it might help me. Really, this situation is very frustrating. Also I just bought my device! 😔
I totally get what you are saying. Reduce some pages with your original planner. And add them as you need it by keeping them in a file on your iPad. I have found when you brake things up it helps. Another option is to have 2 “planners” or files in your goodnotes app.
Alana, This is the step where you export the page as a GoodNotes file. You say in the video that GoodNotes does the compressing, so this is the size after it is exported. It isn't the individual PNGs that I compress on my laptop. I know I could put the images on two separate pages and export, but am baffled as to why 18 or 19 images should require that and it's not very convenient for someone to have to receive 2 GoodNotes downloads. Any idea as to why it keeps growing in size even when I remove images? Does the GoodNotes page seem to retain some history of sorts as to what's been placed on it? Thx
I’m sorry if I said that goodnotes does the actual compressing, I meant you can have them compressed by exporting them to your files. From there you can compress. I have never had a file grow in size. That’s interesting. It very well could be retaining information like you said. Maybe with newer updates. Maybe try putting on a new slide. See what happens then?
You need to compress your file. Or also called zip the file. There are websites that can do this for you if your computer doesn’t have the option when you right click.
I’m sorry to ask this here: is it alright / legal to sell Goodnotes stickers? It seems okay as I’ve seen many people selling them on etsy, but i just want to confirm before starting this smol business as well. Thank you 💕
From GoodNotes do I save it as a png file and save it to my Dropbox then upload the link from Dropbox to Etsy or do I save it as a GoodNotes file then send it to my Dropbox? I didn’t know if it would work due to everyone doesn’t have GoodNotes on Etsy
When I save files as goodnotes files, I do that to allow people who use goodnotes to have a more streamlined import experience. The best way to save a digital planner is to save it as a PDF. That is usually the most readable format for apps like goodnotes and other like it to upload a planner to. You can then save the PDF to Dropbox and share the link of your file that way. I can work on making a video on that this week.
Bear In Mind Planner Co. yes please I greatly appreciate that. I get nervous that I’m going to upload it wrong and then my customer won’t get the planner

hi i have a question and i need help.
@@Alanasgiftshop1 thank you so much xxx ❤️😍
👏
How is it possible to sell planners in Etsy as there is that 20 MB limitation for files ? I guess planners are bigger than that.
😂😂😂😂😂😂 good on you 💕💖
Thank you 😊
hello, hope you can help me! I'm writing with the translator because I'm Italian. how can i shrink a 48 mb goodnotes file to 20 mb?
You need to compress your file. Or also called zip the file. There are websites that can do this for you if your computer doesn’t have the option when you right click.
is there ever a situation where a customer buys them but use them to sell or make things to sell out of them?
I’m sorry to ask this here:
is it alright / legal to sell Goodnotes stickers? It seems okay as I’ve seen many people selling them on etsy, but i just want to confirm before starting this smol business as well.
Thank you 💕
As long as it’s your work, it’s legal. It’s a file type, it’s not the goodnotes product you are selling.
Yeay! ^^ Thank you for your reply 💓
How can i read in german what you are saying? :)
What can you use if u have an Android?
How do you upload a digital planner to Etsy
I was forced to be a teacher cuz of COVID and I’m not a teacher neither lol 😂luckily mine was in kindergarten at that time. If it was 1st grade or higher we prob wouldn’t of made it that far 😂😂
