Wouldn't be surprised if that "Cry" part was intentional. Babymetal really likes to do wordplays with the lyrics in their songs. If you wanna dive into how Babymetal works with their lyrics I'd recommend you the TH-cam channel "Duane Metal" he goes thorugh every song in the first two albums and explains the lyrics, it's really interesting :)

Jordan Fish said in an interview about the collaboration: "they went into so much detail, them and their team, they wrote the lyrics in Japanese and they gave us these charts for different options... the amount of detail they went into on their verse was like super crazy"

Your point about Su's voice been tweaked, rings true for me. Although I like Metal Galaxy, it was very disappointing for me that so many tracks Su's, voice was tweaked to the extent of sounding as if they sampled her voice and her singing skills are virtually irrelevant. I am not a fan of Bring Me The Horizon but obviously curious to see what BabyMetal would bring to the table. For me, collaborations are only good if something new and interesting is created. This track falls woefully short for me and again, they could of sampled any female singers voice as Su's voice is wasted by the vocal tweak. Glad you enjoyed it and your neighbours!
I struggle to take BMTH seriously. They were ruined for me when I read an early review that referred to them as Bring Me the Hair-straighteners. This is the first time I've knowingly listened to one of their tracks and it hasn't encouraged me to dig further. I'll give it a few more spins though, see if I can find some merit. I do like that they are trying different things though - can't fault that.

I had the same "complaint" at first: Su is a good singer, but from this, BMTH fans won't be able to tell. But it does fit the song, I guess.
