Oli- *violently rips out lung*
Baby metal-" OH YEAH"
Oli: we're going to mcdonalds!
baby metal:
They really said "YIPPEEE" on a metal track lmao
i love them for that 🥹
OLI: AYAYA
metalheads can choose to hate Babymetal, I choose to be happy.
Seen babymetal live twice, both times there were bald metalheads all around me singing along to gimme chocolate. Happy times.
@@haxel96 I'm a 6 foot tall fat metalhead with a beard and I assure you I know more than one babymetal choreography
ive never seen babymetal bcs im unlucky against bots so ye I LOVE THEM
yeah not a big fan of babymetal but i don't see why we need to hate certain genre. we're a happy metalhead. we're not gatekepers
This is the Way 😊 Why choose to be miserable when you can just scream "YAAAAAY" with them?
I was in the pit at the Kobe show, the first stop on the Japan tour. BMTH was the fourth and final band. But I had been surrounded by hundreds of sweaty people for hours and I was super dehydrated. The venue didn’t have any concessions inside so I had to exit the building during BMTH’s set to get a bottle of water at a vending machine. Just as I started drinking, I could hear the muffled sounds of the beginning of Kingslayer - the very first time it had *EVER* been performed with both bands present - and was like “FUUUCK!!” and had to rush back inside 😅
I was so pissed that I chose that moment to step outside, but hey, I got a dumb little story out of it :p
Now that's terrible timing !
The more shows you go to, the more 'war stories' we get, at the Babymetal first London show this year I almost passed out from the heat after standing outside in the cold all day, but I did it during the opening band and got seats for the Babymetal show. So my timing was better 🙂
@@autohmae Yeah, the Kobe show was on Halloween night and it was pretty cold outside (probably not as cold as it was for you though). I left my jacket in a locker at the train station, but there were some people in the pit who kept their jackets on the whole time. Not sure how they didn’t die
I was in great spot in the pit - really close to the stage - which is where I wanted to be for Babymetal, so I didn’t wanna leave that spot during the two bands that played before them. For BMTH, I was more interested in moshing than being close, so that’s what I did. But after six hours in the pit without a sip of water, I knew I was gonna pass out if I didn’t do something about it 😵
@@Malkav65 you gotta do what you need to do, but turns out... not great timing. It's just the luck of the draw, etc.
I was at this concert, too😂 Were you in the front row?
Baby Metal vocal performance on this one was outrageously good, they frickin' ripped !!!
Babymetal live are often better than studio, they absolutely kill it
They're actually so amazing live it blew me away the second they started
Ja, they’re fucking amazing. They’re also much heavier live.
I saw them back in April with Lordi and Sabaton. Fucking 👌
That’s their bread and butter! They’re second to none live!!!
ICONIC SOOOOONG
Su's vocals have matured so much since they started out and I think she sounds so god damn good now.
100%
BabyMetal live hits different. They bring SO MUCH energy to their performance, and it energizes the crowd.
Saw babymetal live in September of this year at Louder than Life, was one of the best performances that day. They're energetic, and honestly interacted with the crowd so well.
We all have been waiting for this and they did it at last giving one of the most hype song in the festival. Watching the girls headbanging real hard along with Oli like they never did before makes this even more impactful.🦊🤘🔥
BMTH live is a totally different thing- everyone is into it, the band the audience, it’s just an awesome environment
Seeing them with Bad Omens in January.. Can't fucking wait.
Yeah I didn't really know much about them besides Kingslayer because I'm a huge Babymetal fan. I went to a gig with my friend and it was incredible. They're a fantastic live band.
@@shona5512I am too and I actually can’t wait.
will see them this summer. well again. rock for people 2024 :)
except indonesia live LMAO
BM has entered the Rock Sound’s Top 50 Albums Of 2023 (the only Japanese band afaik) and number 2 at The 50 best metal albums of 2023 - as voted by the readers of Metal Hammer, surpassing any other J-metal band, so yup, they're still on the top.😎🤘🦊
The new rhythm in the breakdown is insane, and this track shows the power of drum and bass live.
Oh look who i found here. Local Metal fan i see ;)
@@raphaelgomi5875 oh that explains the random subscription from you haha! I was turned onto metal in 2020 with Doom: Eternal, and it's been a ride ever since. Hope you're doing good :')
@@SALEENS7GTR5 I'm great, hope u too. It's really cool to see you around :) I've been loving Metal since 2016, but i alway listened to tons of music, so Bass music still is my favourite, but different music is fun :D
This was the BMTH Next Fest in Japan, where they invited multiple bands and performed together with them!
They also invited Yaosobi, Maximum the Hormone, Hanabie, etc...
SuMetal is getting 26 next (December 20th), she and the girls still got the kawaii factor so it's all good, man.🤘❤️
This just shows that Su's vocals should never have been as "artistically modified" as they were on the studio album
I could not agree more💯
there's also pitch correct on her vocals live from the mic. Oli uses them as well for his clean vocals at every show.
Nothing organic about her voice here
There is live tuning correction on vocals for both of them
Yeah, but it's supposed to sound digital, so it's not like it's there because they can't sing on pitch
@ruslanglazkov7919 yes but the studio version has much more production to make it less human sounding
Lmao to bro who said hanabie is bigger than babymetal. Them 3 ladies are the reason why there is a modern J rock/metal breakout outside of japan right now, and it's majority female led or all female bands are getting more popular today because record labels in japan are also creating their own babymetal success. That's not bad thing tho, because the product is good, it's just Babymetal will always be steps above from their peers.
Yeah. Babymetal is the biggest and the most successful band outside Japan. They have festivals tour in 2024 already announced, so another world tour is possible.
1- Babymetal
2- Nemophila
3- Band maid
4- Lovebites
1- moreru@@jaykanou7331
lol then i will just say same as Rap God used to : "Hanabie who? "
About what you said at the end of the video, don't forget that power metal and visual kei have legendary bands in Japan that are still active. In addition to legends with a lot of prestige and local popularity such as Maximum The Hormone or the secondary projects of Hyde, the singer of L'arc en Ciel
Very true! Visual Kei is alive and well with groups like Unlucky Morpheus, and Dir En Grey is still going strong too
Power metal and visual kei in Japan is huge. I'm still waiting to see if The Last Rockstars comes out with any real bangers. I haven't been impressed so far, which is kinda disappointing seeing as they have legends like Yoshiki, Miyavi, Hyde, and Sugizo in the band..... Then again, I'm old school and would kill for a new anime album from Animetal. I know the lead singer is busy with JAM Project, but I miss those 80's style metal anime covers.
same@@suketherurouni37
Babymetal name wasn't a reference to their age. It was about a birth of a different metal. As well as a play on words. In Japanese Babymetal and heavy metal look almost identical
I was at the Kobe show which was the first time this was played. The entire set they were lightly teasing it (playing segments of itch for the cure between tracks) so everyone there knew this was happening but still everyone in that venue lost their shit when BM finally walked on stage
rediscovered Babymetal this year, i've listen to their live album on spoopify almost for a month. now this banger. never was invested in BTMH much, but this collab is extremely energetic and that's just a damn banger! loved that.
I listen to everything Metal, lots of post-black, hardcore, prog, math-rock, MeloDeath, so many genres.... All of that to say I've seen BABYMETAL live 20 times and they're the best band I have ever seen and I'll see them live a hundred times more if I could. Insane
Saw them open for Sabaton in april and saw them again as the main act a month ago, they're insanely good live
Interesting! I would say that my preferred genres are the same as the ones you stated, lots of post-black and hardcore especially but for some reason, babymetal never really did it for me. Although i did like karate somewhat. That said, i do prefer this live version over the original though :) Taste is so hard to define I guess
@@Whooooooops We might have been at the same shows haha
My only critique of Babymetal is that their set is far too short. Barely even reached 70 minutes. Like, 70 minutes of back to back bangers and pure energy, but I wanted more. And that's probably a good problem to have!
@@cyber_rachel7427 haha awesome!
Agreed, could definitely have been longer! But man those 70 minutes went hard!
@@nationalkillah3169Babymetal is one of my favorites but I don’t even listen to them on Spotify. It’s almost always watching live videos. It’s all about their live performance. Karate is probably the only studio track I just listen to on its own.
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。They performed REAL "Kingslayer" together 4 times in Japan. I witnessed the 2nd REAL one in Nagoya on Nov.1. That was mesmerizing 😍.
In an interview Momometal made an interesting comment like :
(1) The theme of this choreo is "collision of souls" that has an image like we throw the power multiplied by the two bands at the audience.
(2) We danced with our full power and rigid determination thinking "We do not care no matter what happens to us after the performance"
The one thing worried me was the statement at the end of this song in the final show in Tokyo on Nov.4. After some hugs with the girls, Oli said "We are never gonna play Kingslayer without them, ever again. Just not right." I know BABYMETAL and BMTH are going to appear in the same festivals next year in USA and Europe. I look forward to seeing them preform Kingslayer together again on those occasions. But BMTH should perform this amazing and popular song even without BM being actually there.
(ps. I found BMTH played a virtual "Kingslayer" in the concert in Bangkok, Thai on Nov. 7 after Japan. That's good 👍)
Can't explain the feeling I had experiencing this in Kobe when they played it together live for the first time ever. Still getting chills just thinking about it 🔥
Seeing Moa and Momo do literal crabwalk made my fucking week, I can't even imagine what it was like to be there for this, it's the most perfect collab yet so not expected at all. They're perfect for each other.
It's not like it's better than studio record, but because it's real, it makes me wanna sing or scream along with them.
It was so awesome finally seeing them together on stage
Every new live releases, Su-METAL keeps astonishing me with her singing. The choreography is also so fun for this one (the stomping and YAY gives me a chuckle every time). BABYMETAL live is the definition of fun, and I definitely recommend attending at least one ;-)
Probably the most entertaining, energetic ,live video I've seen in a hot minute
I like how a few blokes from Sheffield are playing to an absolutely packed out stadium in Japan, it's insane how big they got. When he talks it's just full Yorkshire accent 🤣
I think its just Japan. I have never seen any rock/metal shows in Japan that isn't a sold out crowd. They know how to rock out.
Song was sooo fuckong HYPE I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the Codec referencing Metal Gear & low key Shadow Moses.
You can bet the MGS reference the visuals with the girls dope/adorable ass crab stomp 🦀 🥾 the fan energy was so wild!! 😄
Walking into the venue was like atmospheric ecstasy 😝🤪
I like how they did the intro song, i always play them back to back.
This song is what got me into metal when it first came out, I waited 3 years to see it live and I kid you not when I watched a video the night they performed, 240p with horrible audio, I literally cried. It's insane the impact these things can have on you but also i want to mention how entertaining it is seeing the two groups finally together
This song bangs. Babymetal is the most successful international act Japan has ever had. Saki of Nemophila says they are just on a different level than the other acts in the heavy community there.
When did she say that?
@@DeathFORcameO She was being interviewed by a Western journalist I believe and asked about other Japanese metal acts and when Babymetal came up Saki said they were on a different level than everyone else. I will look for the clip, and there is a clip, after work. Think on it. Nemophila is going to cap their 5th anniversary with a Budokan show; Babymetal has played there a dozen times, and they could go every year if they chose. I like Nemophila probably more than Babymetal, but Babymetal are a juggernaut.
@@Wombatmetal And check out the Nemophila cover of the BABYMETAL song 'Megitsune'.
Everyone in the band is wearing a different BABYMETAL t-shirt, and the studio is decorated with a bunch of Saki's BABYMETAL merch.
Babymetal are succesful but certainly not more than bands like ONE OK ROCK who have been filling much larger tours overseas for 10+ years
@@triplej8666 everyone knows babymetal. jrock fans and weebs know one ok rock. BM absolutely surpassed OKR
their production with led screens and their light setup is so sick. props the the whole crew, they are underrated as hell
You're a fucking legend dude. I love your approach to music, without hate and prejudice.
He only applies hate and prejudice to the people he's unfaithful to
that had to be amazing to see live with both bands together. the energy looks like it was through the roof.
Graspop in Belgium this year: babymetal on thursday, bmth on Saturday.. A man can only hope 🙏🏽
In resurrection festival too, well if they play on the same day.
I saw them live this year and this song went so fucking hard even without Babymetal, I have been to multiple concerts nothing made me move as much as this song. Imagine being at this concert, goosebumps man.
I saw them performing the song for the very first time in Kobe two days before the Tokyo concert. Incredible moment! They also played some old bangers i.e. Chelsea Smile🎉
This is the first time I have ever enjoyed a choreographed dance routine
6:50 STILL best part of the song lol.
What an amazing performance even thought I'm not the biggestr BMTH fan.
I like that it doesn't take itself seriously but at the same time it's still edgy and slaps so hard haha
every Babymetal (and Japanese Rock/Metal Band) live Show is as hype as this. also with those Intros that's typical for a Japanese Metal Show to set the Mood for every Song that is played. The biggest Bands in Japan are X Japan, DIR EN GREY, Crossfaith, Lovebites, the GazettE, Maximum the Hormone, SiM (Silence iz Mine), Aldious, lynch., Ningen Isu & Galneryus just to Name a few
Babymetal are still rising in popularity within Japan even though they have a very dedicated Fanbase there so the bigger popularity is more in the US and Europe for Babymetal
Also HANABiE are still Up and coming with their popularity
Since Babymetal is an Idol Group they will always have Choreography to every Song they play to visualize the Music as it is very typical for J Pop (and also K Pop) Groups to not just dance to the Music that is played but to literally visualize it through their dance, so you can hear and See the energy of the Song that is played (also to visualize the Emotion of the Song so even non Japanese Speaker can grasp what the Song is about even though they don't speak the Language)
Also the name babymetal at this point is literally just to describe that they perform Metal with youthful imagery and energy and not literally to say they are literal Kids because they are not anymore clearly
I saw BMTH play this live last year in Pittsburgh. They have gotten so incredibly good live!
Pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥!!!! Love, love Su's vocals here, and I also enjoy the original with her more processed vocals as well. 🦊 🖖❤
Honestly one of my favorite songs of bring me's discography, its soooo good
Saw that both BMTH and Babymetal are booked for resurrection fest in spain, i would fucking die of fatigue if they collabed this track there!
That was an amazing performance to be sure. Reminds me of seeing dethrone live and being shocked how Noah sounded better live
BMTH is a top tier band live. Everytime you see them it feels fresh and their production is always amazing.
Considering Babymetal have song literally called "Headbanger" tis no surprise they can headbang just right
This was easily one of the most unexpected plot twists in my years listening to BMTH. Found out about babymetal a few years ago, started listening and enjoyed it. OUT OF THE BLUE THEY LITERALLY PUT OUT THIS COLLAB AND I WAS IN AWE
Live shows of BMTH are the most fun! They always kick it up a notch. Love the song, love Babymetal and love this performance!
It makes me so happy to see metalcore alive and well, and arguably more popular now than it was.
BMTH just keeps innovating.
That intro is exactly how they introduce all their shows and often between songs, suuuper cool, always a different story for each tour
Babymetal’s Japanese shows are so visually impressive
all babymetal song are designed for be played live with crowd interaction, big energy song, rest song etc...
Highly recommend everyone see babymetal live. It’s an amazing show
Babymetal are f* awesome.
They always bring it in all their performances
I was there in Kobe when they played it the first time..crazy how the got better with every time they performed it
The Intro is part of a storyline BMTH tells during their show, they fight the AI and with every song the AI gets weaker. Its part of the Post Human Storyline.
4:11 croud 2steping :D
BMTH are so awesome. Mad they are from Sheffield too which is like 30 minutes from where I live. Yorkshire!!
There are a few bigger acts in Japan. I'd be surprised to meet anyone from Japan that hasn't heard of X Japan. I think Dir en Grey and Maximum the Hormone is bigger. They haven't done a proper Japan tour so I think it is hard to tell how big they really are. They can sell out the biggest venues within hours. But that is for one-off shows where people can travel for that show. I think it is anyones guess how big venues they would have doing a 20 show domestic tour.
Internationally they are by far the biggest metal-band nowadays as far as I know. The only one that comes even close is X Japan. I know they've sold out Madison Square and a few really big venues in the US, but that is 10-ish years ago and they've never been that big in Europe.
Unfortunately, Dir en grey isn't as big as X, Baby Metal, or Maximum the Hormone. The biggest place I have seen them is at Budokan, which is about 15,000 cap (albeit they played there two days in a row). Baby Metal can play Tokyo Dome, which is 55,000 cap. X can also do Tokyo Dome though, so I think I would agree that X might still be bigger. They have a longer history.
I'm gonna see them live in January, they play 2 nights at the o2 arena and i got tickets for both nights, I'm so fucking hyped
Just hearing the entire crowd yelling "yayy" that drop... Seeing BMTH (did kingslayer) and Baby Metal (sadly not together) the energy for both is insane
BMTH are on a different level recently. Maybe THE band you have to go and see live! They are so great!❤
Seeing them in April next year, with Sleep Token opening for them. So hyped.
@@Eckythump if you are a bmth fan, trust me with this current BMTH era the concert will be the best day on your life dude. Saw them live a while ago it was the most hype shit ever
@@JuliusBelmont1616Dude fr, I saw them earlier this year, I knew like 3 songs (one of them were pray for plagues lmao), I weren't into them that much, and that concert, that level of production...geez, top 1 concert by far, also that was my first arena concert so it was already a plus!
5:01 perfectly timed comment with Ollie saying “ayaya” killed me
I literally cried during this
Yep baby metal is definitely in thier early 20’s Kingslayer came out 2020 the year the pandemic started
Oli sounds the best he's sounded in a LONG time in my opinion. Not to mention baby metal always sounds amazing live, like better than recorded IMO
Her fucking vocals are so perfect for this holy fucking shit
That Yay is the most wholesome thing ever ! 😂 😂
Found out about them from the cyberpunk 2077 Spotify playlist. Never knew what they looked like. Fun looking concert.
This song is a banger
Put your nuts in a vice
The first of BMTH's three song encore. They played a full set just after Baby-Metal's. It was an epic day.
I have never seen bigger, crazier pits in person than the first time I saw Babymetal live. They're ridiculous and absolutely do not disappoint.
Currently metal awards are holding a vote for best female vocalist and Su is leading with almost 80% of total votes, which is insane regarding that she competes with Floor Jansen, Tatiana Shmayluk or Alissa-White Gluz amongst others. Fair to say that this young lady can sing.
Can we appreciate for a moment how raw they were singing? I mean sure, they were effects and everything but... it was their voice still. That's rare and I loved it.
Su's voice has just got better and better
Crazy to see everyone into and embracing BMTH modern day. So happy for those dudes. They have always been years ahead of anyone else and the majority of people didn't get it in the early Warped Tour days. If you told me back in the day when Chelsea Smile came out and Oli had hair extensions falling out live in front of a crowd of maybe 300-500 max that this is what this would turn into - I would have called you fucking crazy. Cheers to BMTH and cheers to Nik.
Like Babymetal has actually a song named Headbangeeer!! (to the comment about headbanging), actually pretty good
I saw them at Download festival in the UK in June and BMTH had by far the best performance of any one there, bare in mind Metallica and Slipknot were on that lineup as well. They’re really on a different level when it comes to live performances
Their Download set was insane! One of the best I've seen. Fully deserved that headline slot
I was at 2 BABYMETAL's show during their EU tour a month ago and yes, the girls definitely know how to headbang... I think I would broke my spine 😅
I was there up front for this...fucking amazing show!!
3:34 editor chose violence
It has already been announced that BMTH and BM will perform at some of the same festivals next year, so this collaboration may happen again.
The BEST BMTH performance since the Royal Hall, I gotta say.. It's a been a massive dream for a lot of people to see this feat live recorded, I can't even say what happened to the people who were actually there... Facking final fantasy core! ^^
When the energies of Yin and Yang come together to achieve perfection, what a combination
Saw them at download this year and honestly it was the best show of the festival, and one of the best all year I’ve seen. Meshuggah at Bloodstock was ridiculous, as was Lorna Shore in Birmingham, but yeah BMTH live is a spectacle
For that intro, Easy Funky Crazy was there & said that's common for the bands to do some fun animation visuals for their performances.
Coldrain is also a dope band from Japan. Tbh one of the most slept on bands. They have so many bangers. Mayday, New Dawn, Vengeance, Envy, Bloody Power Fame, Cut Me, Runaway, Wrong, Rabbit Hole, Gone, Breathe, Revolution, Die Tomorrow, Side Effects, etc etc. And they even sound great live.
I mean, Posthuman was HEAVILY inspired by videogames, so the beginning and the FF character wouldn't be that much of a shock (Also, doubly so because of Parasite Eve on the album.)
It’s absolutely insane to me that the girls of BabyMetal are in their mid to late 20’s and they look like young girls still. Can we also admire the fact that Oli when MAKING this song ASKED THE GIRLS TO SING IN THEIR ORIGINAL JAPANESE LANGUAGE SO IT WOULD BE EASIER FOR THEM AND OUT OF RESPECT FOR THEM??!?!!
I think this is the first time I've seen two separate bands doing a live show together. The collaboration between these two amazing bands was already cool, but seeing them actually perform together is on a whole other level of awesome.
Babymetal comes from a play on Japanese word for baby/heavy which have a single stroke different in the character and sound similar. It was also a "new" metal genera - it was not meant to be based on the young age of when they started.
That actually made me cry how awesome it was!!!!
This song is Insane , i remeber listen this album for the first time and say "need more stuff like this song". Now i cant quit out off my head the idea that nik make a metal cover of "Specialz" , the opening of Jujutsu Kaisen.
Japan and Australia, two of my favorite metal scenes because they just go crazy!!!!
The choreography the Babymetal ladies came up with goes hard af.
So much hype that I didn’t realise the lack of Mr Fish
Nik discovering how old Su-Metal is was actually hilarious
They did the whole metal gear solid thing at their first ever download Festival headline slot. The whole story and narrative switching between eve (the AI) and BMTH. Even though Babymetal wasn't there kingslayer still sounded great live
Honestly BMTH have improved so much since I saw them in 2019, they blew 130k people away. They set the standard of headliners now.... Absolutely phenomenal
