  • One of the most overused buzzwords in self improvement right now is "optimization". In this video we talk about when optimization is right, and what to do instead.
If you're reading this, congrats, you've found my new channel. Here we do weekly videos about living a better life.

Dayum! This is great stuff. So refreshing. I'm an engineer and get paid to optimize. Which has led to me trying to optimize all areas of my personal life. Which has led to a lot of un-needed personal stress. I paused the video and did the life assessment for where I am now, and defined what 8/10 would be for each area. I feel inspired to improve the areas that really need a boost (6/10). Now I can focus my time and attention on the few things that will really improve my quality of life, and be happy and at peace with the things that are already going well. Thanks for the inspiration!
(p.s... i decided to stop optimizing my disc golf game... its good enough to play without getting hurt and the real reason i play is to get outside, be in nature, move my body and connect with friends... at peace with not caring about the score anymore and just enjoying the game again. This alone will relieve a lot of stress from an activity that is meant to rejuvenate & energize)

Not sure if this is a common sentiment going around the self-improvement world these days or if the algorithm is just THAT good, but your channel is such a perfect summary to how I've felt lately and the perfect counter-balance to all the self-help, optimization, maximize productivity stuff that we've been drowned with the past few years.

Not sure either, but it's definitely where I'm at personally!

Your examples were great! They really helped me understand the concept you were explaining.

Popped this video on pause to watch tomorrow morning but so happy to have found your channel. Also love that your filmmaking has made these instantly such a high quality, stunning. (I’m assuming this from your b-roll in previous video) :D
