    I love a totally random non-businness opening! Like commenting on a sports team they are wearing or ask them about their shoes or comment on the ten kids hanging on their arms. Break the ice and be nice. Pay a sincere compliment. Really probe to find out the deep psychological reason they walked into your store. I love your ideas, Victor! I would love more high ticket B to C videos!

      it's all about your knowledge on the product and how you treat the customer! Try to engage in a conversation first and make them feel comfortable with you. Once you build a good relationship with the customer, they will eventually end up buying your product. I am also a sales representative and I always try to find a way to convince the customer why our products are the best! I'm on top 3 on sales in my region and I've only been working for about 3 months. If I could do it, you can! (good looks always help too). 😂😉

    • @VictorAntonioLive
      @VictorAntonioLive  7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Maria, you have to develop your own first question; try different ones until you find one that works. Sales is a learning process...don't be afraid to experiment a bit. There is NO one way :-) VA

      I go with what can I help you with today? I try avoid the questions where their first response is no or I'm not interested. That question generally leads to, "I'm just looking." That's where I slide into explaining our deals and what we have to offer. But it always becomes a matter of asking deeper questions.

    Hi +Victor Antonio, great videos, love your content! This one threw me a bit, It makes sense for a store owner, but what about legwork salesmen, I, for example, walk into a used car dealership, to sell advertising space in a newspaper, how would I start a sales conversation in that situation? I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thanks!

  • @wadhwaditya
    @wadhwaditya 7 ปีที่แล้ว +14

    Hey Victor, Great stuff.. saw for the first time but cant stop watching your videos one after the other. I am in a middle of taking some big sales related decisions for my wedding photography business. Do you have a video about getting a sales call when the customer straight away asks about the price of your service.. should I share the price?, give an idea about the price and ask for a meeting? Or just ask for the meeting.. Or something else? Can you help? Thanks a lot!

    • @VictorAntonioLive
      @VictorAntonioLive  7 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      Great question! When someone asks for a price I'd say, "Well, Mr. X, it could be anywhere from $200 to $2,000 depending on what you're looking for. So, tell, me what are you looking for and let's hone in on a price?" Pick a wide range and this will allow you to move within that range. VA

    This is unbelievable! I checked so many reviews and you almost have answered all of the followers . That's why I believe you can answer me too :) I work in a mall I repair cellphones , iPads and tablets. Most of customers come from Apple Store to our kiosk , they want repair their devices in a short time and we do most of repairs in 15 . Even when I say Customer i do repair your devices in 15 minutes just come back in 15 minutes some of them stay over there and they say we wanna watch you I know they don't trust that's why I say of course you can watch but they rush me so sometimes I break some devices (for example iphone 7 + plus) and it cost me so much and I m only an employee , I need to buy an other device for customer. Mostly I don't know what to say the customer when it happens. Do you recommend me some words keep my money in my pocket? :))

    • @VictorAntonioLive
      @VictorAntonioLive  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Don't be nervous when repairing. In fact, invite them over and show them what you're doing; educate them so they appreciate you more. It's also a good way of building a good relationship. So next time you're repairing one say, "Absolutely you can wait. In fact, pull up a chair and I'll show you what I do." Now, you're involving them and teaching them and you won't feel rushed. VA

    I walk into manufacturers, and mechanical engineers everyday. These "gatekeepers" are sick of seeing prospectors everyday, and have heard every line in the book. How do you get past them to the decision maker? And once there seal the deal quickly? By the way, I sell industrail steam valves & process controls in Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, & Long Island. Probably the toughest territory in the whole USA. Id love ideas.

    Assumptive question - How can I help you? or I will be glad to help you? Ask or take control right away? I'm going to have to experiment and take some notes on which approach works better for me. Perhaps use both? After they answer the question, respond with taking control.

      Victor Antonio Thank you Victor. So far, using both seems to be working great. Ask the question....let them vent so they feel heard and I get more information that I can utilize during my sale and THEN take control. My clients seem to be responding to someone who can take control and is more knowledgeable than they are to help them make the right buying decisions as long as they don't feel pushed. Balancing listening to the client and teaching the client is working for me.

    Have my own struggles in the sale process at the stage from engaging to disvovery of the guest's needs in furniture store... Would be it a propriate question to ask about renovation of their house to engage the conversation or start discovery of their needs? in our short training we were taught talk about weather after greeting and welcome to the store. it doesnt really make sense, my product doesnt relate to the weather condition... I have few good ways of using sales pitch at the steps of reveal of the product and maximize the sale, but sometimes I just dont get to those steps. in my situation its a little gap between engaging and discovery of their needs... i want to fill it!

    Excellent video Victor! I'm starting a door to door selling about a service that reduces electrical consumption of companies, hotels and restaurants. Some times it's difficult reaching the manager because you have to talk first to the recepcionist. How I can convince the recepcionist?

    • @VictorAntonioLive
      @VictorAntonioLive  10 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Leonardo, first thank you! Second, door-to-door is tough given today's consumers access to information and their limited time. I'm not a fan of D2D selling because it's intrusive and you will always be at a disadvantage selling. That said, I like your concept. I would try something like, "Mr/Ms Secretary, we have a product that reduces energy consumption by X% and on average will save a company $XXXX/mo. I only need 10 minutes of your managers time. Is he available?" She says "No. She's busy." You say, "Well, at least let me show in 2 minutes how it works." I would have a short demo for the secretary. When done, "It's that simple and can save you $XXXX/mo. Do you think this is something your manager would be interested in?" You've not shifted the responsibility on him/her to show it to the boss. Big Note: You've shown the secretary great respect and that may give you some consideration.

I am wondering how can I transition from their bill concern to selling tv service . And lets say they had really bad experience with the service before. And for those who never had it but love their current carrier? :) badly needed to save my job.

    Great video, but what if you are the one walking into their business/house to sell your product? ie. A vacuum cleaner.

      @VictorAntonioLive  10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's a different question and scenario altogether. What you're asking about is a "push" call when you are "pushing" your product on the client. I'm not a fan of door-to-door selling; that worked before the Internet existed. Nowadays clients don't want someone just showing up at their door trying to get them to buy something without doing some research. That's old school selling! Now, if the client called you in to do a demo, then that's different. I would say upon arrival, "Tell me why you called us out here today?" And let them talk (i.e., sell themselves on why they need new vacuum cleaner)

    Victor, thanks for the very good video as usual. You definitely deserve more views.
    If the first time we suggest Product B to the client and they refused/declined, does that mean that it will be impossible to re-suggest Product B again? Otherwise, how do you recommend we re-suggest Product B to clients without coming across as hard selling.

      The key is asking the right questions that "lead" to Product B. You can only "resuggest" Product B if during the conversation the client mentions something that Product B has and Product A doesn't. Ex (You're selling computers): Mr. Client, you mentioned you want more "battery life" from your computer. The product I showed you (prod B) earlier has 30% more batter life which is why I mentioned it. Since you travel ALOT, I'm sure you're working on your computer a lot...which means you need more battery life. Am I right?" Get the idea Blaxerx? The ideal way is to first find out what the client wants by asking those key questions BEFORE you show them Product B. Imagine asking upfront, "Mr. Client, do you travel a lot?" "Do you work on your computer to do work on the plane and in the airport?" Well, then along with Product A, let me show you Product B which has 30% more battery life. With this approach the client is more likely to say yes. See what I mean? Best of luck!

    you are a sales man for some appliances a customer approaches you and asked for some details about your product. You want to close a sale because you have to meet a quota for the month you are tempted to keep secrets some features about the product that may affect the buying decision of the customer. How will a utilitarian analyze this situation?
