That market is awesome tbh. I’ve found awesome vintage cameras, old school nba hats, also there is a really great chicharron spot not far from the market.
Chris & Carol: Congratulations to you guys for arriving today’s in La Paz, Bolivia this week from Peru after spending few weeks in these South American countries in 2023❤❤❤
At 22:42 is that Carol's sister 😉 * El Alto is a very interesting place to visit * The section of housing all painted different colors seems like we are looking at a postcard rather than actual real footage. . . :>/
You are already tired from traveling and still have to go out to shoot this video. I really appreciate it. It is the first time to see a cable car so close to buildings. It is exciting and interesting! If it hadn't rained, that market would have been really nice to visit. What a pity! That city is very lively and all kinds of buildings are mixed together. I like it! If there were dry camels under the house, I wouldn't feel good look about it but scared, Mamma Mia! Thank you so much for sharing, super great job!👍🥰🙏
The best thing that I can say is that at least you are dry in that rainy day you encountered. Unlike that horribly damp and humid atmosphere in Lima, Peru. "0" humidity in La Paz. Love that weather!!!!
Chris & Carol: Welcome to La Paz,Bolivia this week from Lima, Peru after spending few weeks in October before heading to La Paz, Bolivia in great joy November of 2023❤❤❤
Wow! So much has changed since I was there 24 years ago. Wonderful trip down memory lane. The cable cars weren't there. El Alto was quite small. The witches market looks pretty fancy now too. I'm loving your videos! Thank you!
II would have like you could visit some other places in La Paz, there is some wonderful places like "Valle de las ánimas", which means sort of "the spirit valley" I hope you can comeback soon. Greetings!
I’m thankful for the Englishman in Chris to search for the hot drink, preferably 🍵 tea! With TH-cam I have been to Bolivia several times (on my tv) and this was a great insight to the people & their culture. I’m with Chris on the car-parts, very interesting to see the goods at their market - but the tiny-taxidermied alpacas hit my heart - American’s do that too with alligators and starfish at souvenir shops near the beach. Keep up the great work! My personal tip for today: take tea bags with you, then you only search for hot water. Safe🙏🏽travels!
Soy de Peru, estoy aprendiendo su idioma mediante la inmersión así es como llegue a su canal, decirles que su contenido es increible! Muchos exitos se ven que son super cheveres
Nice to see you in La Paz! Mi Teleférico has been a great investment for the city, allowing locals to quickly travel between El Alto and La Paz. It is nice that they keep adding lines like the silver line you took (it was not there in 2018). It is too bad that the rain hindered your time in the El Alto market. 😏There is some REALLY good food to be had there. In Central & South America, a Cafetería is a common name for a place to eat that does not have table service (think US cafeteria style). I am sure that you have moved on from La Paz by now, but if not, I suggest taking the green line to Zona Sur to represent both parts of the enormous city properly. The affluent neighborhoods of Calacoto, San Miguel, and Los Pinos. Settled several hundred feet below the wheeze-inducing heights of El Alto, you will find a warmer climate and easier to breathe air. This area is like a bubble for Bolivia’s wealthy class, and you will find several high end restaurants like the Michelin-star restaurant, Gutsu. Personal budget-friendly local food recommendations for Sopocahi: • Don Pollo (various locations) • Doña Leña (Chicken) • Arco Iris (Bakery) • Mercado Rodríguez (for cooking at home) • Hipermaxi (stall outside selling Choripan, Panchito Lomito & Hamburguesa • Honguito lll (grilled meat, sandwiches) • Not budget friendly, but if you need a traditional US breakfast, Alexander Coffee has you covered
This video is truly one of the best and my favorite. You guys cracked me up going to look for a hot drink. Going up those stairs and then Chris, your reaction coming back down was hilarious. I'm sorry, I just found it funny. You and Carol are so down to earth and comfortable visiting these places and you are very respectful towards the citizens of the countries you visit. Thank you for showing La Paz & El Alto.
I can see why you choose sit down eateries instead of buying street food, because those places look a bit sketchy with sanitation standards. Bolivia looks like an interesting place to visit and take in all the culture of the area. Happy travels JP, looking forward to more videos.
I luv how La Paz has gondolas. I'm planning to visit Bolivia within 2 to 3 years. So I'm taking noted of all the places Carol and you are visiting over there.
Bolivia is my second home, so I will admit I am biased… but it is a super underrated destination. Low crime, rich culture, a wonderful culinary scene, ancient ruins, a welcoming people… please visit and eat a lot of saltenas!
Love the cable cars!! It's scary of how low they ride over the houses and buildings... I can't believe what the weather being like that that they love ice cream you would think that they would want hot tea or hot chocolate and that would be widely accessible in that region...interesting! The views outside your window at night that's really pretty it's not New York City but it's still pretty...
Hey, I really enjoyed that. I dont think I have ever seen a video before from Bolivia. I just always wished your videos were longer!!! You are a sweet couple.
wow im so happy you are visiting more countries in South America, please come to Colombia, i suggest going to Tayrona National Park in Santa Marta, great video guys
What a great video! I was fascinated by the culture of Bolivia. The heights reached by the sky tram were unbelievable. You were literally flying over buildings. Can't wait to see more of such a unique place. Thanks.
This series just gets better and better. Southern Peru and Bolivia are such a highlight of South America. You went to El Alto and didn't get robbed unlike me!
I had a worse experience in La Paz just off Sarnaga St. I got taken down by 2 guys. 1 had his arm over my throat and I passed out. I always say you ain't been to South America if you haven't been robbed.
Maan... you guys rock. You do some random adventures. I love that about you. Beaches are my favorite too but to get out there and explore new geographic locations is awesome.
Interesting city ☺ I liked the old architecture in between the high rises. And the street arts here and there ☺ Great view from the cable cars, but I,m scared of heights, so its not for me 😅😅 I've read somewhere that the bolivian people are very poor, so I guess they need the tourism ♥ Sad to see all the tired homes up in the hills. ♥ I didn,t hear you say wich date it was, but about the parade I googled this: "24th - San Rafael - City of La Paz Patron festival with typical andean folkloric groups, music and dancing...." Thank you for showing this colorful city. (dried lama's was kind of creepy though) ☺Take care you to ♥♥
Yes i think it is one of the poorest in south america, I also saw in another video that apparently if people don't paint their houses and leave them unfinished they pay less taxes which is why the majority of the buildings have an unfinished look
@@JumpingPlaces Ok, pretty much as it was in Greece in the 80's and 90's. I don't know if it's like that there anymore. But I remember in Heraklion it was bad when I was there in those years. It,s prettier now ☺ hehe
Bolivia, my favourite country :) Teleferico is so good, amazing views you had, I enjoyed your random walking, just seeing the street scenes, the people, the daily life. Uyuni is an interesting small town with the Train Graveyard and the railway history. I'm sure Salar de Uyuni is coming in a future video. Safe travels.
Looking at a list of countries by vehicles per 1,000 people and Bolivia in 2019 had 174 vehicles per 1,000 people, so thats like over 80% of the population has no vehicle. That's probably why the actual roads and traffic control is not so good in the center of the city where most everyone are walking. The USA in 2023 has 908 vehicles per 1,000 people which is insane if you think about. I have visited countries in Europe where people my age born in 1951 never had a vehicle and their parents never had a vehicle. Here in the US, its like a given at age 16 you get a car or very soon after. Back in the 1950s my parents had a vehicle and my grand parents too. And now its like a family has at least two vehicles one for Dad and one for Mom. There have been times when I had two myself. I really enjoy your videos.

Hi
Very beautiful and looks like metrocable from Medellin Colombia!!
The traffic is bad because van carries 12 people, buses can take 30 to 40. If they have double decker buses even better.
