从一片废墟到最酷博物馆 -- From piles of ruins to coolest museum

Curator Zhang has created an amazing museum. The buildings and the exhibitions are mostly items collected from demolished neighborhoods in the city of Wenzhou, Eastern China. From the stones used to erect the museum’s walls up to the sculptures standing in the exhibition halls, almost everything was collected over a decade of rapid changes in the city. Lively during normal days, the museum and its surroundings become a vibrant fair twice a year with hundreds of stalls selling many things from artworks, teapots, nicely designed clothes, and many other things. Curator Zhang invited me to such a fair back in 2021, but we had to wait until this one to finally meet. It was worth the wait.
My Chinese nickname is Lao Lu, ‘Lu’ stands for road, which is fitting considering my original French name is (Olivier) Ruelle, or ‘small road’. Lao literally means ‘old’ and it is often used to address older friends. Everybody calls me Lao Lu in China, or ‘old street.’
张馆长创造了一个令人惊叹的博物馆。这些建筑和展览大多是从温州市被拆除的社区收集的物品。从用于垒博物馆墙壁的石头到矗立在展厅中的雕塑，几乎所有实物都是在城市十多年的快速变化中收集的。现在，平时已经很活跃的博物馆及其周边地区，每年会举办两次充满活力的市集，有数百个摊位出售艺术品、茶具、设计精美的衣服和许多其他物件儿。早在2021年底，张馆长就邀请我参加，但我们不得不等到这届市集才能最终见面。不过，这个等待是值得的。
