OMG!!! Thank you SO much for helping me to FINALLY shut that damn screen saver off!! I’ve had this TV for almost a year & could not figure this out for the life of me! I thought it just didn’t come with the ability to shut this annoying setting off!!! 🎉🥳

Hi Chris, great channel first off all. Second can you help, with when I first of all turn on my TV & FS it now starts with the adverts on the very top of the menu? Can this be changed back to it starting on the home, search, game, live & my stuff line?

It’s worth having a look to see if you can find these settings on your other Amazon devices and set them if they are there.

Also a thing you can do is using ADB App control to completely remove the apps,you just need the IP address of the Fire TV,I will probably do that when I get mine

@@cwtek1 No problem,I did it to my Android TV and I removed a lot of bloatware,it felt way faster after that,I also did it to my phone to clear up storage and make it faster,overall,a pretty good tool
thank u 4 the tip. adb app control works perfect with firestick 4k max. works also perfect with fire tv. You can also install apps from your laptop on your Fire device.

Thank you for the video do you have any idea how we can remove the Amazon proprietary apps like Amazon photos Amazon shopping anything that's Amazon related because all of these of course take up space on the devices

I have a problem setting up my 2nd gen cube to control my cable box. When I go to the add equipment menu I find it doesn’t list the cable satellite options. Any idea why these option are missing?
I would assume that is not compatible with the cable box.

The "My Fire TV" options are not showing with the Amazon Fire TV Omni Series. The rest of the suggested setting you said to turn off or on are showing.
I understand some of the TV's are slightly different and maybe lacking some of the settings, I am glad you found most of them!

You can remove them from the cloud.
@@cwtek1 how do I do that it not my amazon account I got it as a present and it was set up and I don't have the amazon account to change it to my owb
@@lreland1712 From memory you need to go into my apps from the main screen then go into Not installed on this device and remove from cloud each app you wish to remove. But you are probably better off resetting the firestick back to factory defaults then reset up under your own account.

When you say video ads on Amazon video are you talking the preview of the show? Cause I do want that!
These are the previews at the top of the main menu which run videos when you push the upper part of the circle.

Anyone know why my Cube switches off at 4,00am when I am watching very late night movies, it's really annoying. Is there a hidden control I can disable ??? So far, I can't find it.

I just purchased the fire TV stick 4K it has the button for prime video Netflix, Disney+ and Hulu. I’m following your instructions and when I get to my Fire TV there is no developer options button available. Can you help me with this maybe give me an answer I don’t understand with it being that way. I cannot download anything outside of Amazon.

Doesn't apply to AFTV2 which still runs great and doesn't need a cube to replace it
If it’s working fine for you then that’s great don’t try and fix something that’s not broken.
the remote has power off button that doesn't do anything, you have to go to my firetv and tell it to sleep.
The power button on the remote is to turn the TV off the firestick should go to sleep soon after the TV goes off.

Do you no how to stop the annoying orange dots on corner of apps (1 app for me surfshark) keep appearing , tried everything , turning notifications off rebooting Etc , i no it’s minor but it’s the ocd kicking in 😂
Do you have a VPN Monitor installed on your device, if so it might be that.
@@cwtek1 it’s the vpn app that is showing the orange dot , once I scroll over it it disappears , weird cos I have two other fire sticks it doesn’t happen on them .

@@asha7244 The only apps i am aware of that overlay with a dot in the corner are VPN safety Dot and VPN Monitor Dot.

Bro. All week my TV kept turning off and Alexa kept telling me there could be a salty wire and I kept telling her it's not a faulty wire stop saying that and of course she kept saying it and I knew there was something that had to do with something on her side that she just wasn't telling me
So Amazon makes a settings menu in which you should not find the settings?
set automatic updates to off.
1. It doesn't make sense to automatically update apps that are never used.
2. When an app needs an update, you can tell by the fact that it stops working. Then you can still update.
3. The setting to "on" also slows down the system.
btw. the appstore sucks.
Amazon would rather you did not adjust these settings but to be fair it’s good of them to allow you to make these adjustments.
@@cwtek1 Just because Amazon does not immediately poke the user's nose at what settings can be made, so each user can see for himself which settings he can make. That's the point of every settings menu.
Amazon doesn't want us to find them...........................yet they are there for anyone to easily find.

They would rather you didn't change these settings but do still give you the option.

Because this is a TV rather than a stick or cube then you might find the settings are different and therefore you might not have this menu. You could try looking for about in one of the menus such as Help or preferences etc.
