Such sad news. Always loved Trevor Sorbie, he’s such a lovely man, grown up watching him on TV. He’s done so much for cancer patients himself, styling wigs. Sending lots of love and blessings to him and his family……🙏🏼💜
Such an amazing guy. Always remember watching him style wigs for ladies going through cancer treatment that had lost their hair. Full of empathy & will leave such a huge hole in the hair styling world. God bless you Trevor.
As an apprentice hairdresser over 40 year ago I grew up in my career watching this wonderful creative man... I feel very privileged to have followed your work.. Be strong Trevor 💪💙
I'm from America, and I had never heard of Trevor. Seems like a stand-up guy. From his persona, I see on this video and reading the comments confirm that. This just showed up on my TH-cam feed. Coincidentally, I've recently been diagnosed with colon cancer. Trevor certainly is handling his prognosis with dignity and class. I don't detect any anger, only gratitude..... Seeing him handling this in the way he is helps me. Thank you , Trevor. Godspeed to you sir.
It just doesn't seem fair with all the amazing work this gentleman has done for people losing their hair through cancer treatment. He has given so many people their dignity. I wish him many pain free peaceful days also for anyone else out there fighting the beast of cancer ❤
as a stylist that trained in the 80s i grew up with Trevor Sorbie and Vidal Sassoon ,,,i looked up to them both as Gods of hairdressing ....and rightly so...one of my clients who wore a striking blunt bob was sat on a train in London and a man kept staring at her ...he came over and told her to congratulate her stylist as the cut was amazing he said ... that man was Mr Sorbie...how could anyone get a better compliment than that ? thankyou Mr Sorbie you are not only of the worlds best stylists but a true gentleman ....
Me too. I went to Sassoon’s in South Molton Street in London in the early 80s and was offered an apprenticeship (I was already college qualified to level 2 but they had their own apprenticeships to learn their way of hair design). I was offered an interview amd managed to secure a place but at £50 per week for living in London it just wasn’t going to be workable, so I ended up in the most popular and busy barber in my town for £55 while living with my parents until my first husband sat in my chair while my back was turned in between clients (we called them through but he decided he wanted to talk to me so he snuck into the cutting room and sat down, I turned around and there he was), and we married a year and a half later.
This man seems so kind and gentle. The world needs more like him. Peace and comfort to this family. I hope you know there are people who care about you and appreciate you!!! You are a precious soul!!!
I have heard of Trevor Sorbie but have never heard him interviewed. What an amazing man, what a treasure, he is. He is totally inspirational and speaks so much sense. I hope and pray I can learn all the lessons he has taught us in this 12 minute interview. Thank you Trevor for helping so many people and comforting us all. eta that must have been such a difficult interview to conduct but Cat and Ben did a wonderful job. I would have been in tears talking to this beautiful couple.
What a lovely man. Such sad news. I still remember buying His shampoo and conditioner! It smelt and felt amazing. And yes, I scrunched dried my hair too. God bless x
Such sad news. I won "a year's supply" of Trevor Sorbie's hair products in a competition about 20+ years ago. When the packages arrived from the supplier there were about 5 large cardboard boxes full of products, beautifully wrapped and presented. Much more than the promised One Year Supply. I gave most of it away to friends who had hair worthy of *Sorbie-ing.* I kept just a few bottles for my No 4 crop! It probably lasted me about 4 years as there was SO many bottles of different products, all different types, colours and fragrances. I felt quite *posh!* 😊
Gosh, I just got the results of my colon cancer screening test this morning and thankfully it was negative. Please do the screening, its free and it can save lives. Sending you love and strength Trevor and Carol ❤❤
@SashaLawrence-ns3vv - If you are 60 years of age or over, they send it to you automatically every 2 years. If you are under 60, I suspect you have to ask for it and may have yo pay for it? You could always as a pharmacist and they can help you or advise you.
I loved my wedge😂😂😂. He’s done so much in the past for cancer patients, setting up a charity to supply & style wigs long before his own diagnosis ( think it was following a family member not being able to find a decent wig). One of the original celebrity hairdressers. So brave & strong coming on tv to raise awareness.
Couldn't watch the half of this, have to be honest, too emotional. I remember the man Trevor Sorbie, the name, the images and posters in hair salons and on tv, If you grew up in the UK in the 80's you'll remember. Synonymous with the words United Kingdom and hair fashion and the 80's. I'm so sorry to hear about his diagnosis. Luckily he has a loving family behind him. Like "Micro Live", "Video 'n Chips", "Dramarama", " Grange Hill", he defined what it was being British and having a talent in that century. All the very best Trevor. ❤
A lovely man. I remember seeing a talk that he gave about 15 years ago about a charity that he set up to help ladies with cancer get properly styled wigs that either matched their original hairstyle or gave them a whole new look. Where previously only very rough NHS wigs had been available, this was a massive improvement and also a psychological lift for the people receiving the wigs.
I don’t know anything about this man but watching this bought a tear to my eye , what an incredible couple , I hope you keep breaking medical science Trevor ❤
This man has been an inspiration to me for 45 years.A very talented and unassuming man and a great ambassador for the trade.I am deeply saddened by this news.I pray that Trevor and his family have the strength to cope! Thank you Trevor for your inspiration over the years❤.
Such a lovely man and amazing carol, have had the pleasure of meeting you both a few times, you found Jessica and Louise my twins and set them a path for their amazing career x thank you, lots of love Suzanne

As someone who was just diagnosed with cancer (albeit not terminal), this was wonderful to hear these words from this famous gentleman and his wife. Their words put everything into perspective. Bless you both.
All the best to you, Elizabeth. Glad to hear yours isn’t terminal. You’ll come through it. I’ve seen it with my grandparents, who were terminal. It’s a challenge to say the least. 🫂
Sorry to hear this news. I was diagnosed with cancer in April. Like you I carried on working till my op in June. Cancer all gone thankfully . I have this inner strength because when you have had it you're never the same!!! So you carry on ... I wish you all the strength and love in the world... 😢
Trevor is the hairdresser's hairdresser. Back in the day, us teenagers, both girls and boys, were OBSESSED with the wedge, it was our work of art, all the soul kids had to have one and we paid a lot of money to get it done well. I think many of us chose hairdressing as a career because of that cut. Trevor, you're a beloved legend, God bless you, sending so much love to you and your family.

Grief counseling is so important. When our daughter died, several people brought us brochures about the importance of it and initially we thought and said, "Why? Will it bring her back?" Thankfully, after a series of events, we realized we needed help. I now tell people, grief is a minefield and it's so much worse if you try to negotiate it yourself. A therapist doesn't tell you, "this will happen, then that, etc." because each individual will experience different things at different times. A therapist can help you recognize what is happening and how to work through it safely. It's especially important if you're a couple because each of you will experience highs and lows, often at different times. A therapist will help you both see how to understand one another.
Oh Trevor you are a true inspiration and have guided me in my career and i admire your passion and strength especially in what you’re facing now. Love and peace to you both ❤️
So sad, I used to go to his salon in Covent Garden, hadn't known he was ill. So brave to come on and speak about it, with his lovely, clearly very supportive wife. All the best to him and his family in during this time, as Carol says, 'dying a good death'. ❤
So sad. I used to attend TS salon in Covent Garden. Had a wonderful sassie short haircut, which I think was called the Sorbie cut. Even in those days, the cost was around £80.00 but well worth it. I felt like royalty when I emerged. It's the only time I've ever felt good having really short hair.
Thank you Trevor for your thoughts, your sharing, advice, and setting such a great example to us all. . You’re a wonderful man. And your wife is lovely too. God bless you both, from NZ. 💜💜
