The same man who wrote the famous "Napoleon" biography and I have just reached Chapter 11, "The Battles of Lexington and Concord". I love to do my homework and research to back up the book and fact check everything and your video helped me immensely. To be fair, most Americans are stupid and don't know their history and cant even name the king we had the revolution against, so thank you for educating the people!!! I am studying English history and European politics and want to major as a professor. I look froward to your more videos. SUBSCRIBED!!!
Awesome video 👍
Remember in Black Hawk Down when the soldiers ran alongside the rescue convoy to safety while getting shot at the whole way?
L&C was its 18th equivalent
Haha! I really want to see the Ridley Scott version of this battle now. With the same style and music as Black Hawk Down
Hey, I love everything about the video. But I was wondering what your source’s are for your vids. Love them and keep it up.
This is so underrated keep it up
Hey Rebel you should’ve went through both the major battles and the lesser known battles of the revolution like the seizure of Fort Ticonderoga and the early battles down south in 1775
good history channel....well done ! :-]
This is what I have been waiting for😊
Really well done 👍
2:08 The Nine Years' War and the War of the Spanish Succession were pretty global too...
Reminds me of Heth at Gettysburg, "It started out as a minor scrap with a few militia--next thing i know Im tangled with half the Union Army."😮
Anyone else reminded a bit of the Teutoberg forest there at the end? A disciplined force of regulars on a road slowly getting picked off by a lesser armed but determined group fighting in their home woods?
damn i just found this channel and it's fantastic!
Just terrific! Great content, great detail, and even as a Baystater and avid reader of the Revolution, you've included things I wasn't aware of. I really enjoy retellings of the war and period from u.k. sources as they don't seem penned in to include american 'lore' of versions of history that we were given in elementary school.
Thanks very much Jae! Comments like this really motivate me forward :). I really hope the series can capture an honest and even handed perspective of the war. Look out for the next episode on the Battle of Long Island! Coming in about 4 weeks time
@@HistoryRebels Long Island? I hope you're not going to skip Saratoga!! I feel like it's a pivotal moment in the development of the character of what it is to be American; visavis “… the most brilliant soldier of the Continental Army who was desperately wounded on this spot … winning for his countrymen the decisive battle of the American Revolution and for himself the rank of Major General.” with that victory, reluctant allies [namely france] determined the rebel cause was worth supporting.
… and keep up the good work!!
@@jaewok5G completely agree! I can’t wait to get into Saratoga, it definitely won’t be missed. I’ll do Long Island and then Trenton/Princeton for 1776, and then we’ll get right into Saratoga :)
@@HistoryRebels 👍
National myths and "lore" exist for a reason. Most countries have their own versions.
never knew that about Pitt honestly
Fantastic channel
