Novak Djokovic vs Rafael Nadal Full Match | US Open 2010 Final

  • Rafael Nadal entered the US Open 2010 tournament as world No. 1 on the heels of French Open and Wimbledon victories. But in consecutive US Open semifinal appearances in 2008 and 2009, he won just one set in two matches as he bowed out to Andy Murray and Juan Martin del Potro.
He was improving on the hard courts, but still far from satisfied. Already a legend with eight career Grand Slam titles, Nadal had a point to prove.
Armed with a newly-bolstered serve that routinely clocked 135mph on the radar gun, the then 24-year-old stormed into the final without dropping a set. But could he find a way past Novak Djokovic to become only the sixth man to earn a career sweep of all four majors?

But he is so good that even this way, he has been winning tournaments but specially whe Djokovic or Federer failed. When Nadal was at this level (2008-2010) he was invincible.

This was Nadal at his highest level on hard courts. His serve, forehand, and backhands all did damage and he went for hard shots that opponents couldnt return.
Since this time and even in 2012AO final majority of his shots were just relying on topspin and tiring the opponent with few aggressive play making shots like he displayed here.

For those who criticize Novak and say he is proud they should watch this match again. It’s important to see his attitude after losing such a tough match. Both players were seeking their first US open title. So it was precious. But see how Novak remained very cheerful in defeat, and gave Rafa all due respects. Notice how he took the cheque off Rafa to allow him free his hands to carry the trophy. So impressive. Not only is Novak arguably the GOAT. He is also one of the best losers, if not the best, in the history of tennis.
