I was just reading an old article about Hana and she was talking about how she lacked strength and stamina when she started to play - WOW! She came a long way! So, so good!
Just found this band about 3 months ago - wow, what an epic force of nature!! - 5 phenomenal musicians that play amazing intricate parts and killer melodies - I am Hooked!!! - Hana just kills the solo!! - great mix too - you can hear everyone very clearly
if you havent listen to Senri Kawaguchi.. shes also a great female japanese drummer.. shes a jazz fusion drummer.. her technique and precision is really great

Think about it, Gacharic Spin member usually jumping around the stage like maniac and their playing still clean and spot on,... And now as Doll$boxx, with Fuki commanding the stage and practically reduce the need for other member to jumping and running around they can concentrated more on their instruments and the results is even more outstanding,... i'm not diminishing other Japanese all female bands because I love all of them from the pop-rock like Scandal, Peggies, or Silent Siren to the ass kicking hard rock/metal like Band Maid, Mary'sblood, Aldious, or Lovebites But in terms of unique melody/groove, versatility, and unpredictability i dare to say no one beat Gacharic Spin except for Doll$boxx,...
Gacharic Spin & Fuki together, without people jumping around, sounds good to me.👍 But I find two problems with that idea. First, Koga and Hana are too compromised in the concept of Gacharic Spin to change it, even a little bit, "controlled chaos" is their brand and with it they will go to till the end. And second, I think Fuki is currently too comfortable in Unlucky Morpheus to leave them for a project that hasn't released a full album since 2012.😞
They do have a newer one out, that's what this concert was about, it's for sale in the description. I wouldn't compare wildly different bands, just that this group in whatever form they've taken over the years and Band Maid are my favorites. edit : oops, just checked, concert DVD sold out, sorry.

Gacharic Spin in their own right are a fantastic group, and Fuki has Unlucky Morpheus / her solo work so we aren't hurting for their work. Just when they come together, it's absolutely magic. DollSboxx were the first Japanese group I ever fell for and they opened me up to a world of music that still dominates my tastes today.
The DVD is no longer available on cdjapan at the link above but is available from other dealers in Japan who advertise on eBay. I bought my copy in December 2023. It was not cheap, but worth it--an amazing concert. Just relentless.
Want to buy this concert no matter the support, digital version on iTunes or blu-ray. I would pay a lot to get this one. To the production teams: Please dont let the video files sleeping on some hard drives. 🙏 Amazing band, stunning musicians, awesome live performance. Doll$Boxx should have been the main project of these girls and Gacharic their side project. In Doll's is easier to appreciate the fine talent of these girls, away from Gacharic controlled chaos.
Gachapin's controlled chaos is what makes them unique, so imho they made the right decision. Doll$boxx is but one aspect of them (and a fine one at that). Did you listen to Gold Dash, their new album? As a D$B-fan you should like it (can be found on youtube).
With Fuki (as this clip makes pretty clear), GS are just a backing band. I'm pretty sure that's not the direction Hana wants to take it. ; ) Quick edit: Since Hana's changed position behind the kit she's joined the big leagues drummer-wise. Great dynamics.
@@COTTERO Not from a musical point of view, from a performance point of view. GS aren't just a studio band, they're a hard-working touring band where everyone gets some spotlight. When a band plays with Fuki, it's all about Fuki. (And of course Fuki's not about to give up her other projects, either. She clearly likes to be busy.)
@@spuri0us It's obvious in this video that this performance of Doll$boxx is not all about fuki, Hana is doing a drum solo, and she is given the spotlight when she's singing, The keyboardist Oreo Reona was given the spotlight in her singing, Everyone has their spotlight parts, In a musical point of view it's clear that the compositions were designed in a way that everyone gets their spotlight, You may think that fuki is the center of the band but she's the singer, happens to every band in the world. And As a musician myself, I see that Doll$boxx is beyond just fuki, It's about every singer member, and I can assure you that doll$boxx is more like a super group than being all about fuki, It's like Liquid tension experiment to Dream theater but with a singer. But then again, liquid tension is the side project. So is doll$boxx.

Hana is easily in my top 5 list of best drummers. Pure talent.

yes she is, oreo used to took the 2nd vocal in Gacharic Spin (in case you don't know Dol$boxx is collaboration project between Gacharic Spin and Fuki)
She's harmonizing very well with Fuki. and all those high notes she's hitting OMG!
