Thanks Kevin! That little small block sure is mean sounding looking forward to him getting it in his car. Thanks for stopping in brother much appreciated. Take it easy 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The only way to do it 👍run new lines and sort the chassis first. Great to take it back to the stock tank and have all new fittings and hardware. You already have so many of the right bits that will really make it nice to ride in ! I might actually miss the whistle when the wind hits my vent window at the right spot and speed... LOL Always great to see your work Chris, thank you for sharing it !
Hey Bubba thanks. New lines are the way to go. Don't want to trust those old ones. Don't need any fuel are gas leaking at all. That would be good. About those wing Windows seals. I've never heard if these make any whistle noises but I bet they would lol pretty old. It will be nice to have new in to at least keep the water out. Thanks for following along brother I appreciate it. Have a great evening take care 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Don! I've got lots of parts to work with now. Now I just got to get busy lol winter coming and I want to drive it at least once. Thanks for stopping in brother have a great evening. Take care 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome stuff Chris! It's always fun to put those new parts on! It's like Christmas! That '57 Axle is a nice one to have with the drain plug in it and those bearing retainer plates that are flater than the '55-'56 ones! I'm glad The Truck and Car Shop worked out well! They were lifesavers in getting parts for our rare '54 and '57 GMC 1 ton panel rescue trucks for our fire museum. The stuff is decent quality and the prices are friendly too. Looks like a great start to getting her back on the road and having an Ironhead Garage Shop Truck or parts chaser! Keep up the great work and I look forward to the progress! Take care!
Thanks Jeff and thanks for getting me that magazine it really came in handy. They sale lots of parts and pretty good prices to. Was a little bit like Christmas for sure lol. Sure is nice the 57 housing has a drain plug unlike my old 55 rearend didn't have one what a pain to drain. IRONHEAD GARAGE shop truck that sounds good. Wow Chris you bought the store out your getting like Dan from DDSpeed Shop,LOLLL! Looking fwd to your progress on your cool old truck. Did a clutch on my 55 not long ago lost one of the u joint bearing cup needles. Instead of buying another u joint I miked a drill bit up the same diameter and cut it to lenght and put it in.I figured its heat treated like the originals and nobody will ever know the difference. Just a tip if you ever loose one of those pesky needles in those cups,LOLL Have a great day & nice bunch of goodies...
