You should setup one clear room with a white backdrop and move in one item at a time and photograph, document and catalogue everything one at a time. Please share details of everything in there!
@noahderrington5156 - yes I should. Who is going to pay me for my time? 🤣 I'll be going back there to do some more videos, so don't worry! You'll have more content soon!
@ ah yes I mean whoever is going to be selling the gear as it’s such an amazing collection. I would happily watch a deep dive on everything there! I hope it all goes somewhere where it’s safe and restored. Love the videos and thanks for sharing
as a Ex Pre-Press Manager for a large printing company its an amazing collection of gear, Macs/RIPs/Software, have'nt seen a Crossfield drum scanner in almost 30 years :). The last time I saw this amount was when me and my boss used to visit auction sites of PrePress houses that closed down in the early 2000s
6:50 turn it around, that must be the back as the power lead is hanging out that end. It looks like a line isolation box so you can feed music into a telephone line, as in 'on hold' music into a PABX/small office phone system, like the one on the other side next to those routers.
Yes @paulstubbs7678 - they are nice (if they work)... mine has a big battery in it... need to pull it out. Theres a video of an APC that I picked up here: th-cam.com/video/cNztqXmay2w/w-d-xo.html
Another great hoard! Great to see all that boxed software in such good condition. I saw a few boxes of Act! in there; I had blocked that program out of my memory due to the headaches it caused me in the 90's 😂
The spinning drum printer is like a printer I saw in the early 90s at a company in Croydon, UK and it was used for making the UV masks for PCBs from a Gerber file. This one had a laser that traveled along the drum as it spun to produce an image, it wasn't quick and would take several minutes to do a A4 size image.
@sulrich70 - yes it was very overwhelming. Especially since this was the last house. I kept getting confused on which rooms I had been in and what I had filmed. 😆 It was a great experience just seeing this and being able to capture it for everyone to enjoy.
Please let me know a contact when it comes available - I am in Bairnsdale - so not far away it seems. I am an old School SUN developer - would love an old bit of equipment to play with. Been fun watching - and yes - I have subscribed :) Well done.
@DISC_web I've just picked up about 11 of them from a major Apple hoard. The video will be out in about a week or so. I'll be listing it all on the facebook page. facebook.com/RetroRarez/
I'd love to see LGR, The 8-Bit Guy, Adrian's Digital Basement, This Does Not Compute, etc, etc, and a lot of volunteers taking care of this amazing hoard!
Yeah would be good to see those guys maybe but I think it would be to far for them being this secret location is in Australia and they are from overseas
The problem with selling these components from Australia to the rest of the world is the huge customs duties. Buying something in Australia is like buying it in the UK, over 50% of the cost of the purchase is taxes! It is almost impossible to bring anything to Europe from there, unless you have money to spare.
@jvegazorro yes. But I could say the same thing as an Australian buying things from the USA. The Australian dollar is nearly 60% of the USD... so it costs us more. Swings and roundabouts. It doesn't stop me buying from the USA either.

I think this one uses strobes to image.
Two boxed N-GAGE games randomly amongst all the printers.
@GlennBroadway - yes it was pretty amusing. I might be going back there to do some unboxing at some point.
It’s overwhelming and a lot to take in, I would be completely worn out

Is it very far from Canberra? It would be great to get an old Apple II. It was the first computer I ever used as a kid.

@codingwithculp youre not wrong !!!! 😆
Really, it’s mostly old crap. Interesting, but next to useless except for making youtube videos …
Yeah.....all those vintage cars, motorcycles and wines, instruments, clothing......nobody wants any of those. Not.
