If you’re walking one of the many routes on the Camino de Santiago in Spain, one of the biggest questions you might have is - do I need to know Spanish for the Camino?
The answer: Yes and no. While you can get by well enough speaking English, knowing some Spanish for the Camino is EXTREMELY helpful. Plus, if you know some Spanish before you go, you’ll have the chance to connect with other Spanish-speaking pilgrims and locals.
In this video, I dive into why I encourage you to learn some Spanish for the Camino and also teach you a few specific Spanish words and phrases that you’ll need to know on the Camino de Santiago.

I actually did not use Spanish that much, mostly in restaurants. I think knowing Spanish is helpful, but not necessary.
