Handbrake is a life saver to prevent rolling. This is perfectly doable in Portland at the beginning.
Definitely. I use the brake and handbrake simultaneously. This version seems to be much more forgiving for vehicle damage aswell. iirc the PS2 version was brutally difficult with vehicle damage.
That’s the sad part about this game, once a gang hates you they don’t miss and blow your vehicles up. That’s the only time this mission is possible unless you don’t glitch and your ambulance actually heals

They should have really patched it out. I mean during side missions like that gang members shouldn't be able to recognize and shoot at you.
I took a 5 min break on level 12, but as I pause my game I was next to a npc that needs to be in the truck
As I unpaused the game, the npc started running towards my truck but I forgot to handbrake and the npc instantly died(bones breaks audio) and I was hella pissed
So yes please use your handbrakes
I just finished this bastard of a mission. The key to success is to just drive safely and try to avoid the cartel patrolled territory. If you do that and avoid oncoming traffic then you're golden. Also try to pick up the patients when they're close together because you can add a bunch of time, sometimes over 4 minutes. I played this in Staution Island due to the generous time I was given.
Hardest part about beating this side mission is praying that the game doesn’t crash near the end.
Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the crashing been fixed in the latest patch? I've been able to play with no crashing since, it would usually crash every 2 hours roughly.
I hope they fixed it, I 100% completed it a week ago though so I’m not completely sure.
Mine crashed on level 10, got 12 next go but to me I felt like the game crashes if you are on it for too long, so I usually saved and closed game then reopened like every 45 mins
Or hope to Saint Peter that it gives you a big enough time bonus to pass the fucking level! God, I hated this fucker! By far my least favorite thing about GTA III.

If I'm not mistaken, GSG actually paid attention to detail by not putting so many patients in Cartel territory. I remember trying paramedic in Staunton in the original GTA III and it was a mess (or maybe I just didn't pay attention to detail).
They might have done, it’s different in vice city as well since in the original patients would spawn all over vice beach in the original whereas they don’t in the definitive edition making it a lot easier.
I strongly beg to differ. I think quite the opposite. Most of my patients are in Cartel and Yardie territory where they quickly tear my ambulance apart. I may be crazy but they also gave the ambulance less health and it doesn’t heal when you drop off patients anymore. Mine will be smoking and I’ll drop patients off and it won’t heal. I used to be able to always do the paramedic last on Staunton without issue, now it’s impossible.

Before they patched the ghost car glitch, with the 1.03 update, you could’ve used the ghost car glitch to make the Ambulance not take damage when you crashed it.
I completed Paramedic at Staunton Island. I cannot for the life of me do it consistently in Portland, maybe once or twice I get to Level 10, but no further than that. With Staunton Island it is Level 11 on every attempt, the attempts that don't make it past is due to my own stupidity, or an aggressive driver driving into a patient. The tricky part is patience in Fort Staunton, as the Cartel could be hostile twords you. Before arriving to Fort Staunton, flick the camera to the side or when driving fast enough keep the camera behind you to despawn additional pedestrians and vehicles.

It's the easiest in Portland in the beginning because no one is hostile.
It started the game and trying it on the first island, its not easy, I reached lvl 9. Is it much easier on Staunton island?
@@Mat187 There are definitely perks to Staunton Paramedic. The roads are less confusion and the time restriction is more tolerant. One downside however is if you have a patient in Fort Staunton, the Columbian Cartel can shoot your ambulance. It is recommended to use the Top-down camera trick to despawn enemies as you approach Fort Staunton patients.
excellent advice. would only add if you're in a hurry whether short on time or danger from gangs pull up with door right next to patient and start moving again as soon as they open the door (or start to get in if door's gone). also definitely do it early just because Infinite Sprint is invaluable thruout the game.
The trick is to also complete this and the other first responder missions as well as the taxi missions BEFORE you go to work your first job with Luigi. That way you won't have to worry the Triads and Mafia attacking you on site. Plus doing this gives you cash and weapons that might make the Portland missions a little easier
Doing this right now. Just did 100 taxi fares and the requisite 20 kills you need to do in Portland for the Vigilante missions
Getting 20 Hidden Packages in Portland is key to the Vigilante missions, as doing so will reward Claude with the Uzi at his Portland safehouse. The Uzi is crucial because it is used to drive-by kill suspects in Vigilante, and with the Uzi pickup at the Portland safehouse, you can use the pickup then save twice to quickly pass the requisite 12 hours (in-game) of cooldown between respawns of weapons at the safehouses. Repeating the process is the best way to stockpile ammo for the Uzi instead of having to scavenge for pickups or spending $ @ Ammu-Nation and ruining your criminal rating reputation score by doing so.
So I do this before Luigi's girls or before the one after that mission

This video is 100 times more usefull than the one from like 10 years ago, im stuck in this side mission for weeks today i failed at level 11 due to the damn time ( Happend because i ended up messing in the game files and for some reason the time was just like in Portland ) and the car still had plenty of health, the key i used to reach this far is basically what says in the video and driving extremely slow, although it will take like forever

literally the first thing to do everytime a new game is started in GTA3. get it out of the way nice and early
FUN FACT: Each time you drop off a paitent, your ambulance will heal a little bit.
This was in the origonal version, it is said that if your ambulance is smoking, drop off passenfers one by one to restore the ambulance. But I noticed in the DE version, my ambulance still healed in a decent amount of time when dropping of multiple paitents.

Hmm here's why it seemed to never blow up despite it smoking for a very long time. Still didn't change the fact that the timer was ridiculously tight and I kept failing.
@@feder28 I always do it in statuton Island, long times. I avoid the cartel areas, and use the stairs, going down it slowly 🐌

If you want to have Peace of Mind with Ambulance: Just do it on Portland when you saved after the First Mission and reach Level 12 in one go, don't drive like a Fool and you will be fine. If not then happy struggle in Staunton Island.
This all the way, it even cuts the time needed to complete by half. I’ve seen people use rollover as an argument against Portland but it’s really easy to avoid that altogether.
That's actually the best way to do it. Same with taxi mission.

i used to use the cheat to give him ped skins to match the vehicle missions. so in my hanon, he's got multiple personalities and this is how they manifest. of course, it could just be that he feels some sort of need to redeem himself so he occasionally acts heroically, even if it means committing crimes to do so.
I asked Claude about this a while ago, he didn't answer...

if you’re done the story and have no choice but to attempt this challenge, keep reading for some advice:
just completed this and I wouldn’t have done it without this nifty trick that I discovered.
whilst driving, simply hold down on the right analog stick in short intervals to change your camera - this way, you can drive remotely anywhere with zero cars in front and no gangs provoking you.
you will struggle at first since you’re facing the road while driving, but once you get the hang of it (keeping the sirens on helps too) you’ll unlock this challenge before you know it

@@gp7dd8oy9o for me, it made virtually everyone (including gang members) and every vehicle disappear three months ago - I doubt it got patched as it’s not a useful glitch for anything else really, so keep tryin if you haven’t gotten the achievement yet!

3 - level 8, idiot runs in front of ambulance
4 - level 11, after getting the first 3 and on my way to pick up next he gets out (probably brushed triangle)
5 - level 9, rolled
6 - level 12, last 3 to pick up, no smoke, idiot runs in front of ambulance

Number 3 was what happened to me in my closest attempt, all because I wanted to get rid of a Yardie up ahead so he wouldn't shoot up or drag me out of the ambulance... that's why I wish the patients would just wait until the ambulance stops completely before attempting to board it!
No kidding, during my successful attempt I was in a state of constant anxiety throughout the entire thing especially on the last few levels but I thankfully got good RNG and very few times I had to venture into Columbian/Yardie territory. The biggest obstacle in my winning run I'd say was the traffic. I swear they become brain dead during Paramedic. Way too many times when I try to pass a vehicle the driver just suddenly changes lanes with absolutely no warning whatsoever and more than half the time they just immediately move back into the lane they were already in! And the reckless ones... those also contributed to my already bad anxiety because if they are in the wrong place at the wrong time... BOOM, patient dead, back to Level 1! Thankfully that never happened to me. For context this was done in Staunton Island, post-game, with all the payphone missions cleared. So glad to never have to touch this side mission again... that is unless I decide to try and 100% GTA 3 again...
211 miles, 560 patients and 32.7926$ later.. I finally managed it 🥳 PS: I am a professional GTA3 driver now lol 😂
Just beat level 12 on paramedic the other day! Boy! It felt so satisfying! Definitely one of the more difficult side missions! Takes a strong breeze to knock that ambiance over!
Basically got to be strategic, plan ahead and be very careful!
How in the he11 did anyone beat this side mission in the original without a pause menu map! Hats off to whoever did that

Been playing GTA3 since its first release on PS2 and still never finished it ! I'm currently workin on it tho. Yeah, there was no pause menu map so you had to follow the dots and drive to the Unknown 😁. But the driving was way easier back then than on mobile ! As for now, I didnt make it beyond lvl 8. Tryin to complete the mission on Staunton Island... damned Columbians ! Thx for the despawn and siren hints, will try that way !

You should destroy the rear and the passenger door so that the patient can get faster into the ambulance.
This is a good thing, but it can also be bad if you have a one star wanted level and a cop catches you by surprise. It definitely happened to me. lol I think I was on level six or seven.
Tried these missions a few times. Pretty tough but I want that infinite sprint lol.
Did this right after Luigi’s Girls as recommended by some guides, never actually played GTA III before so I got to know Portland a bit by doing taxi fares and once you plan your route for all pickups it’s quite doable in Portland
You must be a God driver cause I just restarted the game to try this exact strategy cause I was already on Staunton Island and it's STILL impossible for me. I can't go too slow cause the timer will always be close to ending and I can't go fast because the AI in the definitive edition is so trash that the roads will be full of traffic cause people just don't know how to get around each other in this version of the game. The highest level I can get to is 5 or 6.
@@rs82302 It takes some practice but it’s very doable, my best advice is take the main roads and closest patients first, allowing you to store up as much time cause its really the first levels you need those, I found that in later levels with multiple patients spawn the timer was always at abt 3 minutes minimum (been a while since i did this so memory could serve me wrong). This just happened to me on level 11 and I wanted to punch my monitor and jump out my window. I’m just trying to get the 100% but stupid little things like that make this game so unenjoyable. I’m taking a break right now for my mental health.
Ahh Rockstar you assholes. This is easily harder than the original version. I’ve been able to do paramedic very last on Staunton many times before but now it’s impossible. Even with driving fine, if you have to pick someone up in Cartel or Yardie territory consider yourself done because they’re gonna tear that ambulance up quickly. You also shouldn’t have to have your arm twisted to do certain things at certain times without increasing the difficulty. The bare minimum should be gangs don’t attack you while doing missions or side missions. Certainly one of the bigger flaws of this game is being limited where you can go after certain parts because gang members beat the shit out of you. The appeal of open world games is being able to do things at your own pace
EDIT!!!!- so a tip I picked up from someone else as it helped me to complete it finally, switch your game to fidelity mode and it will cause less gang members and cars on screen at once which significantly reduces the challenge. Best of luck people! Rockstar still fix your game.

Pro tip: try to destroy the passenger doors the one on the left and the two at the back, it will make ur life easier cause the civilians will get in the ambulance much faster

Easiest way to do this mission is use the car crusher glitch in Portland with the ambulance and then store it in garage
The vehicle will become damage proof and need not to worry about catching fire after crashing too much
The handling is pretty shit though need to be careful not to flip over and catch fire or worse kill the patient by running him over
I got to level 9 and was 0.5 seconds too slow to pick up the last patient. FML. Completed the game so avoiding the bad roads steal up alot of time. Literally had him sitting in the ambulance and it still failed, because he hadn’t closed the door yet.

I was doing this in Staunton Island, Nearly Finished level 11 And I’ve got 2 guys at the bottom Of The Island And I just dropped off patients and the game gives me 20 SECONDS TO PICK UP THEM BOTH, 20 SECONDS! WHAT THE HELL ROCKSTAR! I was Gob Smacked When I Saw The Game Give me 20 Seconds On Timer. I spent an Hour and half to 2 hours doing it. Absolute Joke

Rolled on level 12, ended up on my wheels, near heart attack but completed
Did this in my second attempt yesterday and got a few tips for anyone struggling:
1. Do all the taxi missions before so you know well how the city works.
2. Learn all the shortcuts and use them.
3. Always pickup the nearest patient and do a route in base of that.
4. Only the first 5 missions are tricky with the timing, after that is not as hard as the first ones.
It’s intense, pero not as hard as everyone is telling me, I saw this guide first and was already regretting playing the game! 🤣 You can do it! 🔥
level 12 is insane on how much time it does give you. I failed it

The worst thing about this game is giving you constant reasons to restart the game... all because of the stupid gang attacks.
God, I wish you could actually fix the ambulance with a lot of time available. I kept losing in the higher levels because the ambulance would catch on fire from the guns.
I would add some tips , either it is too late or you all know these , but I think they will still help. Do this sub mission after Luigi's girls and before you get in the ambulance smash the two backdoors and the passenger door with a baseball bat until they come off. Use the handbrake when taking turns and also spam the button that changes the camera perspective , because that remove traffic and you won't waste time.
The gangs shoot at me on the 2nd island too and they blew my ambulance up.
I'm still really early in the game but i'm NOT doing Turismo again gonna wait till i unlock the 2nd island thx for the tip
Paramedic missions always gives me a head ache
I just want everyone to know how much I hated this mission back in the day.
During the tedious passing of the mission paramedic, many failed attempts to get to level 12 I had a delusional thought at first glance, but still. As a rule, we often pass the paramedic at the very end of the game and in fact it is the catharsis of the main character, his redemption before every car crushed, shot, blown up peaceful citizen of this city for the entire passage of the game. That's why this mission is so difficult and unfair to the player. We've done a lot of terrible things and it's time to answer for all our sins.
Pan the camera up and down repeatedly while driving to get rid of enemy’s shooting

As someone who had to do this after I completed the main story (because I forgot how crazy things got after you leave Portland): FUCK THIS MISSION WITH EVERYTHING I LOVE. There is no need for the ambulance to handle so shitty, and every gang member being able to randomly somehow know that it’s Claude driving and immediately shoot you up or throw you out of the car, after I complete my last side mission I’m probably never playing GTA 3 again tbh.
In GTA SA, if we complete Paramedic mission, we actually complete saving people 13 times
2:47 you got 4 minutes and when i tried it in staunton island it gave me only 50 seconds and the patient was om the complete other side of the island
How on earth did you get 5 mins when mine starts at 20 seconds and each patient I pick up only adds 19 seconds. I can't even get past level 3 because of time 🤬😡

The stupidest way to fail this is when a hostile gang member pulls you out of the ambulance and makes you fail instantly. That happened to me once when I was on level 11.
That's why its better to do it in the beginning of the game lol

I finally did it after saving 312 patients, Goddamnit.
I've trued to complet it on Stouton Island and at level 2 they gaved me only 30 second and after I taked the first patient, the aditional time was not added.

I think if want to easy mode, nowdays the car can be damaged with bats, isn't it? Now it is possible to destroy the ambulance door easily to "saving" pickup time.
Yeah, it can only be done in VC or SA, as well as the Stories games. In III, might as well ram the passenger side door and the rear doors of the ambulance first with a car until they fall off, but because cars in III are fragile (they tend to smoke even after a few bumps), it's a risk.

bro when i was doing this on pc, on lvl 4 a guy got stuck on a wall, and it pissed me off and i had to do the mission ALL over again, like it just sucks

My vehicle keeps flipping at level 9 or 10 it’s annoying because Portland has those hills and if you just take a turn slightly fast it will flip. Soooo annoying

I was playing this mission on staunton island and i was level 3 or 4 and i had more than 6 minutes and i delivered all patients to the hospital and then my minutes went back to below 2 minutes and then i failed this is bs

Is this glitched? Like why is it sometimes when you drop patients off at the hospital you get added time and others you don’t?!? I’ve lost on level 11 twice because of that.

Trying to complete Paramedic in the post game is a special kind of hell...
Closest I've gotten is level 8, forgot doing it in Portland (bc the Leone Mafia and their shotguns) and Shoreside Vale (takes bloody forever to drive from Pike Creek to Wichita Gardens, and time may or may not be plentiful) then the patient that I had to collect ran in front of my Ambulance as I tried to run over a Yardie guy (I had done all of King Courtney's missions so they were hostile). I could and WOULD have raged SO DAMN HARD if it wasn't 10PM at night...
In conclusion? Do NOT attempt Paramedic in the post-game! Unless you want to torture yourself then by all means... get it done as early as possible in Portland, when you're not in a conflict with the Leones and Triads.

I am so not doing very good at the paramedic missions. I’m doing better the vigilante missions that I am at the paramedic missions. I’m stuck at level three.
I wish the players had to complete paramedic side mission in order to unlock mission "Drive Misty For Me".

Yeah, only if you drive like Baby Driver. The ambulance in III drives like a piece of shit because it's prone to rollovers. VC and SA ambulance handles way better.
1. Never use one brake on a turn always use both
2. Back into a wall repeatedly in order to break off the back doors so patients can just hop in

I used the ghost car glitch. I have the physical edition of the game, before installing gta 3 I deactivated the internet connection so that it could not update, but to do this you must have the physical edition, if you buy it in digital version you will already download it correct.
Wish that helped me. I have yet the physical edition. But I have yet to fail because of the ambulance getting busted.

Hey guys , i just pop the trophy for this one i will give you a tip on how i did it , i spend two days for this trophy even my tv broke by it self because of the heat , anyway
1 use siren but drive carefully
2 avoid the gang streets try to memory the street where they spown or if you cant memory it go to maps and pres up you'll see the gangs logo that's their place
3 take your time and try again like i said i spend two days , good luck if i can do it so can you :)
4 if you finished the game and want to do the side quest like i did go to the second district,
Absolute joke I’ve just done this after 2 weeks none stop before doing the missions and as I say just done it got infinite run and shows on my in game stats as it being done but no achievement!!! Anyone else had this problem? Really annoyed as want to now go on with the game and can’t be arsed to do it again for it to not just pop again.

I hate this mission, every time I reached 10/11 lvl the car freaking roll over, luckily I finished it after a couple of attempts
was the game patched or something, I don't get that much time at all. and the brain dead npc cars...
