    I can’t wait to open my own car shop ONLY working on Hemi Engines and Nag1 Transmissions. I want to do honest work. Chrysler offered me a job, but I don’t want to start off upselling shit.. I want to do honest work & save people money. That’s my end goal.

    Another thing to look at in regards to the coil packs is the electrical connectors. My first misfire issue with my hemi was caused by a buildup of dirt inside the connector itself. Once cleaned, it was all good again.

    Error code P0300 - Last year and replacing the spark plugs fixed the code.
    Yesterday i encountered the same code P0300. Couldnt be the spark plugs cause they only have about 5k miles on them. I used Lucas Fuel booster and after a day of driving it fixed the code issue.

    I’m working on my Magnum. Thanks to your videos I’ve had the confidence to do 65% of the rebuild myself. The rest was done by a engine shop. Now my issue is Cylinder 6 connector isn’t giving the meter any reading. I’m getting a code for a misfire. I purchased a new engine wiring harness but it came from a Chrysler. I learned the coil packs are different from dodge and Chrysler. Any suggestions on what I should do? Try Chrysler coil packs or find someone to rewire the harness? Thanks for all you do for the home mechanic like myself.

      Our 2017 Ram 1500 was running fine until last Sunday. We were on the highway doing about 70mph for around an hour all was well. Once we pulled off the highway and stopped to make a right turn at the light. The truck was shaking so badly and missing, we thought it was going to stall. We drove for about another mile to where I could get out and check under the hood. Oil pressure was normal, water temp was normal. No hot smells around the engine, oil levels were normal. Went to restart the engine and it sounded like we didn't have any oil on the right side of the engine. We had to drive for another 40 minutes on the highway to get home. It never got worse but it sounded bad. The missing and knocking sounds sometimes go away and it sounds normal. I am thinking it might be a bad cam and lifters, but it shouldn't go away and come back. Crazy it was running great until we came to a stop.

    a guy had done the same thing of diagnosis a misfire on a HEMI, he changed the spark plugs everyone was working so he switch up the spark plug that was supposedly misfiring and that spark plug was working so he looked at the coils check those and they were okay, so he checked underneath the covers to see if it was a roller brushing up against the rockers which would make a negative charge those looked good, So he went back to his diagnosis tester looked at all the sparks through each cylinders and those were okay, so he ended up just getting a new PCM with a 50 dollar install for the HEMI with it's VIN connected, then checked the rest of the codes that came up after the install and everything worked like a charm! Pretty cool stuff.

    Currently have an intermittent p0308 code set at approximately every 20-40 miles. Engine ‘feels’ like a slight miss vibration most of the time.
    Changed plugs, swapped coils, tested fuel injectors (resistance and pulse width live data), swapped fuel injectors, passed compression test - after every check still getting sporadic p0308 code.
    My next check will be input wiring harness to coil.
    Cylinder 8 is not an MDS activated cylinder. I’m not sure if VVT or a faulty cam phaser could cause this issue.
    I appreciate your video, I thought I might be missing something. Turns out I’m just stumped.

    P0301 and p1411 just came up on my 5.7 159,000 miles. I believe it’s the MDS solenoid. I hear no valve/lifter chatter just injectors clicking away. I haven’t put my stethoscope on it yet though. I’m debating doing a new cam now before I have lifter issues later and having heads redone with new springs and MDS delete.

    Thanks for your video! I don't have any check engine codes but noticed that my 2010 5.7 hemi was idling rough, sensation of my butt bouncing up and down in my drivers seat at idle. The scope shows occasional misfire on #1 cylinder. swapped coils cleared the codes and took it for a 15 minute drive and the scope registered no misfire. The misfire returned straight away. When idling at 700 rpm as soon as i increase the idle rpm by 200 it smooths out. This is not a dead misfire but the 4 or so events in 20 seconds is annoying as you can imagine. The car was doing it before the new spark plugs but it seems more noticeable now.

    Great timing for this video! Thank you. I started getting a misfire on cylinder 2 (2008 Jeep Liberty 3.7 V6 engine) on cold starts. The vehicle has 306,000 original miles. Changed the spark plugs (a little over 60,000 miles on them) and ignition coils (original) since it was time. I haven't gotten the code back, but the vehicle now has some intermittent (usually when restarting the engine after being off for over 10 minutes) rough idle. I haven't checked the injectors. That's next.

No crazy tick tick sound coming from the engine. Definitely has a misfire though cause it’s rough at idle gets better the more you put your foot in it check engine light comes and goes. Guys, here’s a Misfire issue that NOBODY covers. I was putting dielectric grease in my coil pack boots like a dumb ass lol. I do it for my 4 wheeler and my dumb self thought it’d be a good idea for cars too. NO. The grease gummed up inside of my Coil Pack Boots / Spark Plug Boot & wasn’t allowing for a smooth flow of electricity to my spark plugs, causing me to misfire. So guys, if you’ve got ANY misfires, check your Coil Pack Boots, if those are okay. Swap the coil pack from your misfiring cylinder, to a non misfiring cylinder. If the non misfiring cylinder starts to misfire, you’ve got a bad coil pack. If it doesn’t, check your spark plugs.

    • @Ryan-fm9uj
      @Ryan-fm9uj ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So dielectric grase is not needed for the coil pack boots?

    • @thomydavid
      @thomydavid 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      SHIT! I just did my plugs and used dielectric grease on all of them! Wish I had read your comment before. That’s what I get for watching other people’s videos.

    • @BWADaniel
      @BWADaniel 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thomydavidHahaha. Its an easy mistake to make! Dielectric grease is typically used for Vehicles that are prone to get soaked in water such as boats, ATVs and Dirtbikes. On cars, it creates an issue if you put it on your spark plugs or where the coil pack meets the spark plug. It can also create a hell of a time for you to get them back off in the future since the dielectric grease dries up and makes your parts stick together. Ever since i found this out, ive never used it again. Havent had any misfire issues, and if I need to yank my coil packs out, they come out without a single issue. My next thing to wonder is if you can put a small glaze of anti seize on the outside of the coilpack boot, where it sits into its bore. Seems like a logical idea but I havent had an issue removing my coil packs since I got all the Dielectric grease out of there.
      But yup! it all just dries up and creates gunk into the coil pack boot. There was alot of green gum in there afterwards. I had to buy new boots.

    • @thomydavid
      @thomydavid 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@BWADaniel thanks for the reply. Right after reading your comment I went and yanked all of my coils/boots out and cleaned them with q-tips and then cleaned all 16 brand new $180 worth of spark plugs. I wanted to eliminate that possibility as potential problem for diagnostic purposes. Turns out I’ve got lifter failure and worn lobe on my camshaft which sucks. But, I did leave some of the dielectric grease on the same spot you just mentioned just to keep any moisture getting in. Thanks for the tip. I really appreciated it.

    I have a misfire on cylinder 3 (what isn't a MDS ).
    I switched plugs and coil and cleared the code with my autel scanner.
    Test drive still says misfire cylinder 3.
    I checked the injectors (live data with my scanner and they are all in the same range.
    The misfire I only get, when I push the truck hard.
    Do you think I'm on the point to replace the camshaft and lifters?
    I also will replace the oil pump for a hellcat what supposed to fit without modifications.
    Btw I have only a 105k on my truck.
    What you think ❓

I was on a Diablo tune and changed to HP, Diablo tune was fine I just couldn’t tune the TCM. I got the tune finalized from my tuner on HP and all of a sudden I have an issue with revving the car anything above like 3k. If I rev to 4-6k in park or neutral my decel comes down extremely slow and then hangs at 3k before dropping down rapidly. I’m almost certain it’s a tuning issue as this was never a problem on the Diablo tune and that’s the only thing that changed. Thoughts? Anything helps

And after my engine warms up , I can get up to 25 misfires in cylinder 6 that stop when I start driving. And again, it’s not enough to throw a code. But I see them while live monitoring and also on mode 6 data.
    I’ve already ruled out coils and spark plugs. I have not did a compression test yet.
    But doesn’t this sound like early mds lifter failure?
    I am currently also keeping mds turned off with my tuner . Is that hurting, helping or probably a non factor in terms of protecting my engine and helping it run better?

    Hi there, one thing that you didn't touch on (if you did, I missed it) is will a clogged fuel injector be a possible cause for a P030# code? I have good resistance on all injectors including the #5 which is where my misfire is.

    • @ReignitedAuto
      @ReignitedAuto  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's possible but very unlikely unless the vehicle has sat for a very long time, or if you have reason to suspect you got contaminated fuel, but that usually shows up in more than one cylinder. It's a fairly easy test to swap the injector to a different cylinder and see if the misfire follows it. 👍

    I just remembered a problem I had outta a project car a while back. 07 chrysler 300c. I eventually gave up an sold it. What would cause idle surge on start up once the motor is warmed up. An you've tested for vacuum leaks an found none. Replaced throttle body. Could it have possibly been the ambient air temp sensor or some other sensor. That maybe an issue others have had.

    • @BWADaniel
      @BWADaniel 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could’ve been numerous things. Even a failing Crank or Cam position sensor, would’ve caused those symptoms. The symptoms are almost never the same, some are bad, some are very bad lol. Sucks that you sold it, but you never know, maybe the car would’ve ended up with thousands of dollars of work needing to be done like mine lol. I’ve got the 07 300c as well, and I just became a master mechanic working on my shit hahaha. Rebuilt the engine and replaced a few things on the inside of the trans. You could, but really the difference in the results generally ends up being fairly minor. And truthfully the actual number isn't that critical, it's more checking whether it's consistent with the other cylinders. Or if it's below 100psi overall. Also, if you do this you'd better make sure the engine doesn't somehow fire up, it'll go full throttle 😄

    • @ReignitedAuto
      @ReignitedAuto  2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You've swapped the engine and the PCM and you're still having a misfire on the same cylinder? If so, at that point you've already narrowed it down to the wiring harness. Either the injector wiring or the coil wiring is compromised.

    • @doxter360

It's a multiple cylinder misfire but number 6 is the pissed off one. Seems nonsensical. And on this engine only seems to do it on cold start and you try to immediately drive it. And there's a code for wrong viscosity of oil but it's correct and just a break in oil. Bunch of weird things. Sorry but I'm desperate. Any help is appreciated

      Is it code 3449? If so, first place I would be looking is at the wiring harness going to the MDS solenoids under the intake manifold. If you've got faulty wiring or a stuck MDS solenoid it could be misfiring due to that. It's someplace to look anyway. 👍

      05 heads will fit on a 03 block, basically the cylinder head design is the same from 03-08 however, there could be minor differences in the heads themselves depending on what application they were used for. What I mean is, if you try to put truck heads on a car block, the heads will not be drilled and tapped for mounting the power steering pump. The bosses are there if you want to drill and tap them yourself, but just something to look out for.

    How many miles on an engine should you consider replacing it when a lifter fails?

    • @BWADaniel
      @BWADaniel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need to order a new Camshaft more then likely as well. I’d go ahead and replace the whole timing kit. Sprockets, chain & tensioner. Not that expensive. I got all my stuff from PartsGeek and you can choose between aftermarket and OEM. I went with OEM. But I’d repair this as soon as possible. New Lifter, Camshaft, timing kit, oil pump, & you’ll be in the game. I always suggest an oil pump replace after parts have started to fail. You don’t want metal debris inside your bearings. But it’d be a good time to check all that.

    • @BWADaniel
      @BWADaniel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But you’ll have to place your head gaskets, and all that while you’re in there. New head bolts since they are TTY.

    • @BWADaniel
      @BWADaniel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      My new Camshaft was $400 made by MELLING. Lifters I paid $200 each for, DNJ rock brand. They had an extra oiling hole so I preferred these over OEM. I only replaced the rear set of lifters, Left & Right. I paid $100 for my OEM timing chain kit with tensioner, but I got it on sale. It’s a bit more expensive, but there’s other good brands besides OEM. My oil pump is MELLING. $125. Head gaskets we’re $30 a piece. Head bolts were $30 a box, you need two boxes. Timing Cover gaskets & front timing seal. Good time to replace all that stuff.

    • @BWADaniel
      @BWADaniel 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      But do this repair ASAP. My lifter failed, exploded into pieces and jammed my crankshaft up. I had to completely disassemble my engine, and yank my crank out the block with 400 pound of force. It took out a chunk of my lifter bore but nothing that will cause it to prematurely fail, atleast, not that I think. I had to cut my torque converter off since my engine was seized, $1000 right there. So my point is, do his repair ASAP before your out of more money and parts.
