Really good vid. Easy to follow, and you go through all of the troubleshooting for nearly every possible cause for the misfire. From easy fixes to the most expensive worst case scenario
Ma you are awesome! Great video! Great information! I really appreciate you showing everything in comparison and explaining so much further it really helped me understand what was being shown and what was going on with the vehicle and why. Only question i have is what would cause this to happen??? Not changing the oil on time as you pointed out in the beginning...? But how would that cause the cam to be so worn down like that? Thanks again for providing this perfect video and please make more on the HEMI motor!!!
Not changing the oil, I believe is the cause. My personal belief is oil should be changed every 4500 miles maximum. The cam was worn from lifter hitting it after axle of wheel failed. I have have had many high mileage engines in my life and never seen any failure like this. But I always change my oil 4500 miles max and use quality oil filters. Thanks for watching.
Great video !! My 2016 dodge charger is misfiring cylinder 5 and I changed the spark plugs , ignition coil , fuel ejectors and still misfiring . I took it to dodge and charge me $218 just for a diagnostic check but didn’t find nothing . They told me the need to break down the engine but that’ll start off at $800+ . But thanks to your video I’m going to check the lifter and cam today
Great video. I just installed a 392 camshaft in my 5.7, along with lifters and pushrods. I had a hemi tick gone bad. Ruined cam and lifters. After my 392 install, it's all good. I did need a 91 Tune though for rough idling. Good as new now. I like how you showed the rockers while engine cranked, that's novel. I would warn against long cranking a starter like that; it will ruin not be good for the starter.
2016 5.7 pursuit. 159,000 miles. I have two codes cyl 1 misfire and p1411 which is reactive engine performance code cylinder 1. I don’t hear vale train chatter. I think I have a failed MDS solenoid. But I’m gonna dig into it like you did and check things out. I feel at the mileage it’s at now I should probably do a cam lifter job just as a preventative precaution and so I can inspect things. What do you think? I’m looking into doing a 392 cam MDS delete and custom tune. Not sure if the pcm is locked on the pursuits because they have the AWD and Nag1 5 speed transmission. Let me know your thoughts. I appreciate it. Great video!
So you changed the cam and also the lifter lobe?? So would the same principles apply to a 14 dodge challenger 5.7 rt? I have the exact same issue with cylinder 5 misfiring and the spark plugs/coils have also been changed. The cam hasnt been checked yet but this is basically the same exact issue.. but my check engine is on but it also blinks at times.. sometime it doesnt
Is it possible to only have to replace the lifter and not the cam? If the lifter is in fact damaged is it a guarantee the cam is also damaged? Im hoping i just need a lifter 😅
I'm having the same issue on my 2012 on cylinder 1. I changed all the coils and the spark plugs I want to have mine towed to your shop. I live in Lansing I will give you a call tomorrow.
I have the same problem with my 06 charger 5.7 only 9k miles cylinder 4 misfire I replaced coils plugs and tested injectors, guessing the lifter and cam is bad
Thanks for watching. Please don't guess have the problem diagnosed by someone who knows what they are doing. WhiteOneAutoLLC would love for you to be customer of ours.
Changed my camshaft position sensor. Now I having a ticking noise. I moved the starter out of the way installed the part . I had trouble making the crankshaft flush. But now my new problem is the ticking. Anyone familiar with this situation?
Man, it's looking more and more like Imma have to change out the Cam Shaft and Lifters in my '11 Ram 1500. I'm not looking forward to removing the exhaust manifold. Y'all know what comes with that... broken @$$ bolts. Smfh! It will all be a challenge, but I'm looking forward to being able to learn more about engines. Any advice or heads ups would be great. I already know... Good luck with that, right? I got'chu thanks in advance. 🤣🤣
I just had my cam and lifters replaced on my 2013 charger so mechanically mine is sound but I have a dead cylinder on number 3 and I've been told thus far it's a PCM problem do to the fact I have good power to the injector but the coil has little power
Thanks for watching. You to find a good mechanic who can tell you for sure what is wrong. I would love for you to be a customer of WhiteOneAuto 313-264-1689.
This exactly what my dodge charger hemi is doing you took me right through what and how I needed to do the job...thanks a million.
GLAD IT HELPED. THANKS FOR WATCHING

update? how did checking the lifter and cam go?
@@moniugly1 you remove valve cover rotate engine and make each rocker is moving.

In a fantasy world with no emissions police. I would do MDS delete with correct tuning. Please remember we live in the real world.
🎯🎯 I couldnt see where you brung out the cam was that passenger side
@ceewilson4774 thanks for watching. Cam comes out the front.
Hello Sir, I changed the game shaft in this car and changed the 5 plus 7 type it, but the car is missing. The number 5 cylinder is having problem
4500 for a cam and lifter job might as replace engine right ?

If you think the cam or lifter has failed remove valve cover. Slowly turn over engine by hand and see if rocker arm moves.

@@LA2XXtharapper I didn't have it towed to them but the cam and the lifters have to be replaced
@@Mister-t9x wow how much that is basically a new engine right ?
Those hemi always have valve problems and passenger side exhaust manifold problems.
Dodge knows they are wrong, they wont address the fact cam wiping a 5.7 is inevitable
I think they should tell customers to change the oil every 3,000 miles, and things would be fine.
I'm having some problem with my dodge charger rt 2013 5.7 in cylinder 5
How much does a cam and lifter job typically cost for a 2013 5.7
This one was $4500.
Lmao learn ur self u will save money
Good video Sir!!
Thanks

Thanks for watching. TH-cam is great, but sometimes problems go beyond general help. I believe you need professional help.
could just be the manifold since you take it off to replace the sensor
Wat fuse is it to it won’t crank all the way
Starter relay
Man i wish you could come to Delaware and fix my ram Hemi
Thanks for watching. Ship it here.
Can I get an estimate on that job you just did.....
Each job is different I could give a price until I tear down engine and see what all parts are bad. WhiteOneAuto 313-264-1689.
I have the same issue with my charger took it to shop hoping they would fix it. Paid $800 and the misfire is still there
I hope video helps you out.
That's ridiculous. Take it back.
Same with me took it to dealer got it back same misfire and paid 500 for my truck to come back the same
It’s either spark plug, coil, fuel injector, bad valve/lifter/cam or MDS solenoid.

Typical lifter tick..
How much was this job?
Thanks for watching. $4500.
Can u do the lifters without doing the cam?
@AlottaSkillz252 yes IF the cam is not damaged. But most of the time, they get driven too much after lifter failure and a lobe get destroyed.
My car is doing the exact same thing and same cylinder 5 problem a guy is telling me I need to rebuild the bottom and top end of my car
The car in the video only needed cam and lifters. Your case could be different.
@juanwitdahemi did u find the fix
