I purchased a z690 and 13700k. I got no display on boot. I knew I needed the latest bios. I was going to purchase a 12th gen from bestbuy and return it to flash the bios. I seen this video and got up out of bed to try this. IT FIXED MY ISSUE. I will be able to game tonight because of this video lol

Will install a 12600k with corsair 5600 ram , samsung 2 gig m2, msi 1000 ps ....gonna do a little oc'ing with noctua air. Can always move to 13 or 14 series if necessary but want to see what I can do with a little less power draw.
I got the Z790 AORUS ELITE AX (rev 1.1) needed to find someone flashing a AUROS type board GIGABYTE boards seem to have the q flash plus button on the back of the I/O area where he plugged in the ram stick. My only suggestion is this worked to perfection but its always best to only have the GIGABYTE.bin file as the only file saved to your flash drive under the root directory or basically the area where you formatted been that way since 99 when i built my first rig using a Floppy Abit board with a AMD 1Ghz processor yeah im THAT old LOL. Or in easier terms copy and paste to the flash drive through your windows directory after you've renamed it from extraction.😁Great video and i got the info i needed just let it do its thing till the power supply shuts off and no lights unplug the power supply then the flash drive and get to building your new rig. Going from a 2700k Antec Box to a new Montech Air 903 Max its been 12 years since my last build so i had to brush up on my skillz
Thanks for useful video. I tried to update the bios but my mobo did not power-up. Could be because of no load on power supply. Also I had issue with my RAM ddr5 5600mhz. I am using 12600k and mobo is version 1.4 It did power up after I connect all components but did not POST due to RAM issues. The yellow light kept blinking between RAM and CPU. I tested both RAM sticks by keeping just 1 at a time and it worked but did not work with both in. So I installed the OS and then updated BIOS from FK to FL (the latest ) Rebooted and then shutdown, put the other stick in and it worked this time. Have not enabled XMP yet, RAM is running at 4800mhz Didn’t get much time to play with it further
Grab the latest or whichever is at the top of the page. In the old days, one might have to update to one in between...but I haven't seen this in years.

After the update is done, everything should shut off and you can disassemble it, unplug it...etc. You are now ready to start building it up with a 13th gen.
Hi, I,ve got a trouble here. I bougth this motherboard with 13600kf and first i tried to run this without updating bios (I simply forgot to do this). But after I realized this thing and do a step by step update following you video, but nothing worked. After booting pc the cpu led is ligthened and after half of the second the dram led is going on and thats all. After several minutes pc just rebooting himself and going to the same loop. RAM is new pack of kingston fury, i've tried to run with 1 slot, changing it but nothing works I even bought 12100f for classic update but get the same boot trouble. What is the problem? Is RAM is not supporting or maybe motherboard is dead?
I used this process to update on my Z690 Gaming X DDR4 and the time to update the bios took about 40 seconds and then it stoped blinking and psu stopped. Now my question is that is it normal to update it this fast?(Ps:Motherboard rve is 1.1, updated to Bios version F22 date 2022.12.14 description 1.Checksum : C7AC 2.Enhanced BIOS security)
@@karoldw9471 Well in the end I couldnt do anything about the problem so I contacted an operator from the store that I bought it from and told them about the issue and they took it into warranty service(after 2 weeks in service when I recieved it worked without any issues and still does)
I can't seem to be able to get my Asus Prime Z690-P wifi to boot without the CPU. It doesn't have any button for the EZ Flash function. The motherboard is already in my case and connected to the front I/O ports and has the RAM seated as well. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for the video it was very clear and easy to understand. However, I'm running into an issue where the light isn't turning on after I press the button. I'm not too experienced with building computers so I thought I could update the BIOS later on, so I tried booting my computer, and was running into some issues (my CPU is intel 13700K). I'm not sure if that could have caused any issue. When I figured out what might be wrong, I watched your video, and removed everything, as well as the motherboard battery. Then I put the battery back after 20+ min, and followed your video step by step very carefully, but then when I press the white button on the motherboard, nothing happens, I don't see the flashing light. I reviewed all my steps just in case, and I'm confident I followed every step to the letter, had the right things plugged in in the right place, right USB format, etc. Anyone knows how to resolve this issue?
Sorry to hear you are having problems. You are not the only one. It is entirely possible that your motherboard might have issues. I actually did a different video with everything installed just to see if this method works and it does: th-cam.com/video/NIvNeAUSVJQ/w-d-xo.html Lots of things to look at. Do you at least get a red light on the motherboard after you hit the button? When it works, there is a red light and orange flashing light. So are you 100% positive that the bios you downloaded matches your motherboard. If I remember correctly, there are 4 versions of this motherboard...D5 and wifi, D5 no wif, D4 and wifi, D4 no wifi. All would have different bios. Thumb drive, seems like you definitely have the formatting. The other thing to try might be another thumb drive. Sometimes the bios won't see a particular USB even when it works in Windows. Make sure you have installed the thumb drive in the dedicated bios USB Port. Hopefully, your power supply is in good working order. If you have a PSU tester...might be worth trying that out.

I am also positive I put the USB drive in the right slot, it is labeled ''BIOS'' so it's hard to miss. After pressing the button, I do not see any light at all on the motherboard. So no red and orange flashing light, nothing seems to happen. :( For the PSU: I do see a flash of light when I power on the power supply like you do in the video. I was also able to power up my PC when I initially tried to boot it with all the components plugged in, but I was getting a DRAM error (red light on motherboard), and after pulling out 1/2 of the RAM sticks, I was getting an alternating CPU/DRAM error. @@kathcaly6832 i recently tried to bios update my gigabyte board and ran into some issues about the USB Stick you use to update it. after a while of searching in the internet, i found a post that states that the USB stick shouldn't be larger than 8GB I was trying to Update Bios from a 14GB USB Stick after i found a USB Stick with 8GB and did the Bios Update everything worked fine. Before that i had similar issues, nothing happens when trying the q flash button, bootlooping or not starting at all.
Is it possible to start the Bois 21 without removing all the components? I reassembled the pc a few times, but I did not find the problem until I realized that i had to update the BIOS. I dont want to repeat this again. Please answer my question. Thnx
If there still any one reading this, i would sugest updatin from the second version onwards. It takes a long ass time, but it's safer. I'm currently using a b360 gigabyte with a 9700 cpu, and when updating the bios, I had to update one by one, otherwise an error would occor. Maybe not necessary for the 660 series, but i couldn't really find anything concrete.
No..should take 6-8 minutes. The whole process can be done in under 15 mins...but the update portion for the 10 I have done has always been in that range for the actual bios update portion.
Unfortunately, I have never tried that. The directions on some of them are rather vague. You would think they would put something like Note: This will not work with a CPU or GPU installed. I have another Gigabyte motherboard so I might just try and find out later today or tomorrow.

i just update my Bios on my Z790 UD, still waiting for the CPU Cooler, than i can testing it, is the BIOS update ok 🙂(with a i5-13600KF and DDR5 5600MHZ. Missing only the CPU Cooler to run 😞, will come this week). Merry Christmas to all, have fun and Enjoy.
I already have everything built, and the CPU is making the pc turn off and on every few minutes because of the lacking bios update. Can I update by just not turning the pc on but with just power, as in should the cpu turn off the pc if the pc is not switched on but there's power running through it?

My fault, my MB is a Aorus Elite AX, and not a Aorus Elite. I'll try again the flash as soon as the USB is formated again, but it's probably too late.
I finally was able to overwrite the wrong flash by the good one and it works. What a relief.
