@@ErenYeager-yc2do I liked that. Maybe they were locked in there because of an apocalypse so human race survives. Maybe it was time for them to wake up and be the new beginning. The movie is full of metaphors so quite open for interpretations. After this I will definitely see the whole film.
I think the movie is a metaphor for life and life after death: during life, there is nothing but struggle. The only thing we have is one another. After we die, we go to a better place (at least in the Christian belief).
Our physical body is made of earth materials, we cannot leave earth while in our physical bodies because we aren’t made to go anywhere else without special equipment.. BUT, once we die we’re able to explore freely without the restrictions of a regular body

It freaked me out, if something happened I'd have no real way of getting information to them, a few months ago there was a man sneaking around behind their house, I knocked on their door and said "Hombre aqui!"
They has no idea what I was saying because the H in Hombre is silent, so instead of saying "Man here!" I was just frantically pointing behind their house and saying "Hungry here!"

it's not terrible, it just doesn't have a complex plot. sometimes reducing the conflicts (man vs. man, man vs. self, etc.) to their fundamentals is all you need.
The plot is metaphorical, not everything has to be chewed up and put in your mouth

This has a lot of symbolism. From my perspective the first room with the decomposing rat and his awakening represents the death of the old and the birth of the new. The second room represents the struggles of life and the partner you can meet that will struggle with you. The third room is death as it contains a grave. The heaven it the afterlife. Or it could just be an epithet for the Adam and Eve story.
I agree 💯 this movie seems about symbolism and I certain they were being tested and passed in the end which made me enjoy the film only the making love was far fetched in his condition but wasn't a deal breaker for me it made sense and yet didn't

Am I right in saying the reason the oxy-acetylene torch didn't work was because the flame size was wrong and gas mix was wrong? It had a big yellow flame not a small blue one.
Yeah, too much acetylene...gives that yellow flame. Needs to add oxygen to bring it down.

Oh I remember this movie. I always figured it was aliens cause of the world they step out into at the very end. Like kind of a test to see if they were worthy or not. The plant life there looks different but similar to earth at the same time.
They really should have given the end a bit more tho. Maybe have an alien welcome them to the world or something idk...

Actually it is a heck of a lot better than the vaults.
After decades one of their descendents makes it to the end of the world only to find a vault door there.

@Aluzky you're wrong. The water will flow as long as the water main isn't closed off using a control valve. Air is also a compressible fluid where as water isn't, at 100+psi, which is often city water pressure, the air would be compressed to a very small layer. However this is ignoring the fact that once the room fills and pressurized that the the air in the room would travel up into the above sprinkler pipe feed through the open head, as when the pressure of the water coming out the pipe and the air pressure in the room are the same the less dense fluid will naturally rise to the highest possible point. This would only leave about a 1/4" of air pocket above the hole of the sprinkler head, which isn't enough to open your mouth and breathe in. however even that optimistic analysis assumes an air tight seal around the sprinkler head that won't give under 100 psi, which obviously isn't the case imo, so the more likely case would be even that 1/4" air pocket quickly depleting.
@Aluzky the only hope would be for an air lock to form immediately once the air reaches the same psi as the water, which is extremely unlikely given that would require the 1" supplying the head to be goose necked, given it's dropping down into a thick ass vault it's most likely either coming straight off the bottom of the main or out the side breaking over to the vault from an adjacent protected area.
@Aluzky however, it's too bad that humans can only survive in a couple atmospheres of pressure, about 40 psi. So, he'd likely die before the room even fills with water if the air isn't escaping the room faster than water fills it...... In other words he is absolutely ducked if that sprinkler head was actually functioning, I install fire protection systems BTW, you know, for a living

This film In my opinion seems to be a metaphor for the 2 Christian/Abrahamic belief of Purgatory or a better life after death.
I think it is about purgatory, we can suspect both the Woman and the Man are dead, the women might have died for peacefully or was burried as she woke up in a coffin? And the man might have died in a car crash or any other lethal accident that's why he woke up with a headache? I can see both characters redeeming themselves. But I see s Weird, "white saviour" cliche, like the Man Guiding the women through purgatory?
I mean, she literally saved his live at the end... not sure about this.

We are all trapped in life one way or another.
Those cans are not both oxygen, you need fuel gas aswell (otherwise there wouldnt be 2 hoses in the torch) by the color of the container I think its acetylene.
That piss drinking scene is one of the most beautiful moments in cinema that I can remember. From the man rushing to stop her wasting the urine, to him explaining his desperation, to them both drinking from the shoe. I'll never forget that.
