I cannot thank you enough for this video. My niece wanted a stacked, naked cake for her wedding cake which I had never done before. I watched this a number of times to make sure I had it down and did everything properly and it all worked and the cake was a huge success! I learn so much from your videos, thank you so much! 🤗🙂
Very good demonstration. Your way is more easier than what my teacher taught me. Seems like everything she taught us was very difficult. But, I've learnt so.......much from these videos. Thank you.
Your videos are brilliant! Just what I need to improve my baking. Your tutorials are so clear that I think I may be able to try some of these things out with confidence. THANK YOU!
Just found your video by chance, so glad I did, I've subscribed! You explain everything so well as you demonstrate, I have my first wedding cake in 4 weeks and I'm going to watch all of your videos first now! Thank you, love the pink straws tip too!
Ditto to what everyone else is saying. Excellent, informative video. Fab kitchen, bit echoey and not as homely as the other bit still so good and very practical. Xx
Or you could just use a pencil sharpener and sharpen the end of the dowel and tap it down with a hammer..goes through all the boards..you can feel and hear it.
I actually really like her idea of putting the stick in and finding the center before hand because I’m new to this and it’ll insure my cakes are centered
This has been the best wedding cake assemble tutorial I’ve seen so far. Thanks for the descriptive details. I have yet to do a tiered cake. Client is asking for 4tier with bottom one being a dummy. Would you but straws and dowel through the dummy cake too? Also how many layers are in each of your cakes?
Thank you so much!! No the dummy is a thick and strong enough layer that you can just place the cake directly on top - I would still use a cake board on top of the dummy layer so it can be dismantled easily
Yay! Glad you’re back. Used your older macaron video as reference when trying to make them for the first time! 🤗P.S. I don’t know what your audio setup is like but a lavalier mic (pretty cheap, clip to your collar and plug into your cam) is great at getting rid of some of that background white noise.
Good afternoon Georgia! Thank you very much. Nice kitchen and good video. Just checking did you stack cakes to give the height then dowelled the cake with the straws? Thank you very much. Shalom🙏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🙏🏾
LOVE this tutorial, it's everything I needed and more!! I am doing a wedding cake soon and I was wondering what you use to take the whole cake off the cake drum to put it onto the desired cake stand? I would hate to drop it!! Please help :))
Hello! I'm making my first 3 tiered semi-naked cake this week & found your tutorial immensely helpful, thank you! Regarding the center dowel - I noticed yours barely went through the top tier, and I'm wondering if my dowel is too long now (I thought it was supposed to go almost to the top of the cake). Should I cut mine further so it only comes up 1-2 inches into the top tier as yours did? Thank you very much for your video(s)!
Thank you! As long as the dowel doesn't come up the top of the cake then any size is ok. It's good to measure the tiers and then the dowel to make sure it's not too long!
I'm sitting here now confident that I can make my moms semi naked birthday cake, and I haven't gone through all your video so maybe you have done one like this, but I would love if you did a how to cut the servings video next. These cakes seem more complicated to serve than a regular sheet cake or single tier cake. Thank you
Thank you for your very helpful tutorial...i just wanna ask, when is the best time to stack a cake,a day before the delivery or hours before the delivery? Would you keep it in the fridge after stacking? Then how did you keep your stacked cake in the fridge? Thank you very much..im your follower and subscriber..
So are the cakes packed separately for transport, then stacked at venue? How do you transport a stacked tiered cake? Could you pls give us more tips and tricks on transporting decorated cakes without ruining them during delivery? Thank you.
Hello bonjour .. i m from France your videos are awesome thank you very much. I just wanted to know for the naked cake like you do do you have to use the center pillar or can I just put the same kind of plastic straw in the center please. for a cake 25cm above 20cm and over 15cm diameter 10cm high each please thank you
Question. Can I use a plastic cake board, that's the same size as the actual cake, and stack those? I dont feel comfortable removing a finished tier off its base 😫 needing to travel 1.5 hour away and will need to stack on site. So it will no longer be chilled when I arrive and I dont wanting crumbling apart.
Hi.. Very useful video. I am going to do my first 3 tiered cake. Are u using the same plastic straw which we normally use for drinking juice? Sorry if i asked something stupid..
this is great; I have a question if you could please please answer... are these tiers 2 layers of cake each or three? Also, I would love to see a video of you mixing, baking, icing and stacking...from start to finish!!! :) thank you
Thanks for the great tips! I have a question.. if doing a 5 tier cake (14”, 12”, 10”, 8” & 6”) With the base cake (14”) being polystyrene - would it be best to buy a single rod that would fit through all 5 tiers? Thank you 😊
I have a wedding cake to make and deliver for my friends wedding next weekend and I’ve been feeling very anxious about it but watching your video has made me feel so much better. Only difference is it’s not a naked cake it’s a full buttercream with gold drips... would it be best to stack at home or do it at the venue because I’m worried I’ll damage it and won’t have time to fix it but also nervous of driving it there as it’s a good half n hour 45 min drive away... as u can tell this is my first wedding cake 😬 x
If it's not so tall, I would stack before transporting. I always take palette knives, extra buttercream and scrapers to a venue just in case!! Good luck!
Do you recommend decorating all of them first and then tiering? Or tier it all and decorate? I’m making a rosette base, a plain middle & a rosette top so I’m kind of nervous
Finally a teacher who tells us that each cake is sitting on its own board! Thank you!
Very nicely demonstrated.
Georgia, your voice is very pleasant
Probably the best stacking video I’ve seen. Thank you!

Or you could just use a pencil sharpener and sharpen the end of the dowel and tap it down with a hammer..goes through all the boards..you can feel and hear it.
clever!
That's what I usually do. :)
That’s exactly what I do!! Sharpen and tap in! Makes it snug!
I actually really like her idea of putting the stick in and finding the center before hand because I’m new to this and it’ll insure my cakes are centered
@@Destroy.6666 i was just gonna say this. I saw another tutorial and the cake wasnt centered at all. I love her idea
You made this look really simple. Great tips.

Only just got round to watching this one, thank you! I have one question, so I’m assuming you have each tier fully iced and decorated and then stack?
Lovely!
loved that! thanks!
I always have used straws and pounded the dowel through the top this is mush easier
Love your page... any tips for transporting the 3 tier cake??
you are back yaay
Thank you for the video! It is great. This cake is for how many people?
Thank you . So helpful 💐

If you build the cake with support you can transport it stacked! I have just released a video about packaging a cake too :)
This is really helpful. Thanks for sharing!
Great Video.. Thanks
Beautiful! How many layers are your cake ?
woooooowwwww THANKS FOR THIS. THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH
Thanks for the video. I have a wedding cake order for next year and I'm worried how I'm going to deliver the cake to the wedding venue.
Yay!! You are back. Love all your videos!! How many would this serve ?
This size will serve 120 :)

Hi.. Very useful video. I am going to do my first 3 tiered cake. Are u using the same plastic straw which we normally use for drinking juice? Sorry if i asked something stupid..
Do you have to use the central wooden dowel for a 6. 4" small cake? And are the boards under the cake cake boards or drums x
this is great; I have a question if you could please please answer... are these tiers 2 layers of cake each or three? Also, I would love to see a video of you mixing, baking, icing and stacking...from start to finish!!! :) thank you
They are 4 layer cakes - if you see my channel I have a few videos stacking a cake from start to finish including the making too!
Thanks for the great tips!
I have a question.. if doing a 5 tier cake (14”, 12”, 10”, 8” & 6”)
With the base cake (14”) being polystyrene - would it be best to buy a single rod that would fit through all 5 tiers?
Thank you 😊
Very lovely

Great video! Can you also just wash and reuse your cakeboards or are they disposable?
