I have been unemployed for 2 years now. I have applied to hundreds and hundreds of jobs and even made it to 2nd interviews and orientation. Only to be told “Sorry, were not hiring” or “We decided to go another direction”. I have sold everything I own, done tons of gigs, but i am literally holding on by a thread and if something major were to happen to me right now I’m scared to think what I might do to myself. Im very close to giving up.

I have been unemployed for 7 months. The ghosting, phone screening, is all BS. I opened a business during COVID, at the time I was still employed got my business license etc. Fast forward today I decided to go full force. It’s hard but I am not giving up. I hope I never go back to corporate America.😡

I know they keep saying the economy is crashing and people are working two jobs but there not seeing the benefits behind an economy crashing more money for smart people and less money for stupid people. We're slowly figuring out ways to save money and some of us are just waiting for certain spots to open up so we can excel into higher paying jobs if you tell a big company that you only showed up for a paycheck you might get hired.
I'm amazed at the requirements companies want for basic jobs. I'm convinced they have to post jobs that aren't open to appease the job Gods

I have a good restaurant management job, making more money than I’ve ever made in my life. But it sucks. I don’t even care about work anymore. Everything seems pointless after 2020 to me, it just seems like everything can be taken away at any point so why even try. Do I sound functionally depressed? Absolutely lol

This is why I’m a barber. My husband is a welder and a journeyman sheet metal worker. Hands on trades are always needed.
My personal favorite is ghost rentals. You go fill out a application pay the 300.00 fee only to get turned down and 3 months later it is still up and available.
They’re collecting soooo many fees!
Greatest rental scam ever, collect never ending application fees then reject every single applicant. Government needs to address this. Make application fees refundable if applicant gets rejected.

@@AveriesMirandaYou probably don’t want to hear this, but in most states property management companies/owners cannot profit off fees by state law.
I’d recommend calling and contacting the leasing agent in charge of that listing. They are very busy contacting leads, staging the property, managing repairs and maintenance. And at the end of all that they get ghosted by 50% of the leads, 30% aren’t interested after the showing, and 15% don’t show up, and the other 5% might sign the lease. They are going through so much rejection on a small hourly going to make a commission while going through daily rejection.

@@NE0Nwhipsounds great, I would love that. But I also know how the game is played. That is how we think, trying to be "fair". But the Banks that rule us all with their $$$ don't see it that way. So my take is..... live as simple as possible, need as lil money as possible, grow your food and preserve it as much as you can or support your neighbours that do, have a few chickens if you like eggs. When you don't need their crap or their monopoly money, that's is freedom to me.

As an older millennial I can still remember the 2008 recession. I was too young to worry but watched the adults around me struggle. At first you had lots of corporate employees job seeking for months to a year only willing to take a job similar to what they lost. As it dragged on you had skilled corporate employees fighting over pizza delivery jobs. We are headed there again imo. Yes we have the social media and online now to make money but as things get worse it will dry up for most. Companies will pull back on ads/sponsorships and people will have less extra income to spend. SAVE all the money you can NOW

Im about to give up breaking into a new tech industry after my first layoff. Got a temp job at costco and just got offered full time. Pay is crap but benefits are decent esp after many years of work. Lots of 10+ yr employees there make it more convincing to just stay

I know us ladies like our beauty stuff, but it’s time to ditch all the extras. The lashes, the nails, the fancy beauty stuff. It’s all fake and most men don’t care anyway.
The economy is sooooooooo terrible and disturbing that as a homeless person with no job ( thousands of rejections for applications ) I am forced to hand clear land I bought, create my own stable foundation by hand and soon make my own logs to hand build a log cabin home just to have a roof over my head. Mortgages and gouged rentals are criminally insanely high and nothing in America is affordable anymore. I am going to have to grow my own food too because I can no longer afford 99% of food in grocery store or its poisoned with bioengineered fake ingredients. First time ever I will most likely be using food pantries until I die. No longer interested in participating in capitalism the dumpster fire 😤😢☹

I am surprised by the number of juniors applying for senior positions. Companies have very high expectations for senior positions, so if a senior position is re-posted over and over, most likely it's because the right candidate has not been found yet. Even for junior positions, companies are not looking for fresh grads with zero experiences, they are looking for people with a few years under their belt. So I'm not sure how many ghost positions people are thinking about are truly ghosts or it's a case of mis-matching expectations between hiring managers and candidates.

Maybe it’s just me but I’m noticing a lot of women being laid off of these tech, etc. jobs. Does anyone know if it’s an equal amount of men or am I correct? Or is it just that mostly women would actually make posts about it instead of the men who were laid off…

Majority of people in HR and Marketing are women. Those roles are some of the first to be laid off. So that might be why. Now more career paths are being affected, including engineering which tends to be male dominated.

If you can't afford fairtrade clohting bc they be expensive as sh*t even if it's "worth" it even those online shops have sales or you could look around if you have a 2nd hand shop in the city closest to you where you could find 2nd-3rd+ hand me downs too and they mostly still be looking good. I don't know why some people act like that's just for those who've always been "poor" not the "new poor" (which some of the old poor also treat relativley arrogant in my humble opinion 😉 😉). Also it would indeed be nice if we could earn our money to that degree that not sponsoring fast fashion would be affordable more and am like the furthest from a "Shopping Queen" when it comes to clothing.

40-50 don’t follow their feelings. Go work as a roughneck in the oil fields. No education needed and will make 75,000 a year. Let’s me guess, “that’s not what I want to do”.

This isn't "modern day job hunting"... it was just the same when I was looking for work in the 70's 80's 90's 00's etc. We were just told to suck it up and get on with ANY job we could and work our way up. No boo hoo ing, no living on benefits, just a kick up the backside to get out there.

I HAVE NEVER DONE A COVER LETTER IN MY LIFE.... but I also don't have finding a job a problem because I have 6 licenses in healthcare. & healthcare is so desperate I never even "INTERVIEW" I SHOW my licenses and start the same day if I wanted to. Or I download the healthcare apps and pick up shifts at different facilities. People need to find a TRADE or SKILL to make money on. 💰 I quit one job and have 6 interviews by the next day. No EXAGERATION.. they beg you to come in & the pay is Hot!
The variable volume of these videos are pretty annoying. When you edit these, you can balance the output to make them the same, you would get more people watching and subscribing.
Blue collar jobs are hiring left and right with amazing wages. Be willing to work in crazy weather conditions if you live in the Midwest, and not sit on your ass all day. We need more men working these blue collar jobs to keep this country going.
