      It was no scam before. You used to save and do something later of ur own. That's how most ppl do it. The only scam now is these big companies, Im completely comfortable at my WFH job, I save money more than 50 percent of my income, and I live pretty comfortably, the real scam is not working at all, unless you have rich families which 90 percent of us dont.

      The world is pretending it doesn't need workers. The issue with white collar work is that many people are just not good at it, but we keep forcing everyone into it. So yeah, that particular person in that particular job is not needed; but another person would excel in it IF GIVEN A CHANCE.

    • @skellymom
      @skellymom 21 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      But the world DOES need workers. ESPECIALLY in things like social work, healthcare, teaching, as so much more! A lot of corporations DON'T want to pay people a LIVING WAGE. And many places on the US are no longer public, they are privatized so a large corporation owns them. Also, many businesses are now owned by investment corporations who do all sorts of shady shit to keep their INVESTMENT making money. Doesn't matter that they are major companies that own most of the housing and making people homeless due to rising rent, keeping houses empty for investment and people cannot purchase them, or hospitals for profit that have horrible nurse/patient ratios and high death rates due to cost cutting. It's a bunch of shitty corruption, for profit, no give a shit about regular people in general. Politicians are in the back pockets of businesses, or too stupid to care or do anything about it. George Carlin was pretty prophetic about it YEARS ago and tried to warn us.

    I like how now that the tech workers or “skilled” workers are being affected by layoffs suddenly everyone has a critical nuanced view of workers rights 😂 when the essential workers or low skilled workers complained they were told to shut up and that they would be automated away now
    ironically the low skilled positions are desperately hiring and the sTeM workers are being automated. Stranger than fiction, hopefully this ignites a new interest in workers rights not just for the tech workers but all workers.

Unless , you make millions of dollars a year and don’t spend a ton of money , there is no room to be “ secure “ in any job. Most companies especially large corporation don’t care about worker bees . There is nothing preventing them from having to deal with the same sudden glut that tech workers experiencing except for the fact that they tend to be more unionized on average. But telling people in financial difficulty that they should have just been a plumber or a welder as if you predicted how terrible the job market was going to be is worse than saying nothing at this point.
