    Never thought to do that! I've just thrown away all my photographs! (been a photographer for about 37 years.)Could try something with the few remaining ones. We'll see.

    Thank you for your reply. I had a picture printed at Costco and I use golden paints

    My work is entirely digital and I print to watercolor paper. But your saying I could print to canvas and then simply paint over with heavy body acrylic and it will adhere?

    Do i need to clear prime the photo print canvas before i paint over it with oil paints to stop it leaking through?

    Thanks for sharing info on this. Which Epson Sure Color Printer model would you recommend?

    Thanks for the example. I've been wanting to try this BUT I wonder how long the painting will last before flaking or cracking or peeling without prepping the giclee surface first.

      I don't think it would do that unless you use cheap paint maybe

      @@rachelparkervarner your work is beautiful!! I think you may be under valuing yourself though. I'm not sure your pricing structure but it doesn't seem consistent.

    Hello, my name is Beckeelou. I enjoyed watching what you created. I do have a question about what you used to seal it all up when your finished.

    • @rachelparkervarner
      @rachelparkervarner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't need sealing. Acrylic paint is basically like a plastic.

    So... just to be clear, these are your originals that you are printing?

    I thought you needed gesso first. Won't the acrylic paint flake off?

    Will you please tell me what product you use to protect/preserve the giclee painting? Thank you!

    I have tried to touch up a canvas print I had printed at Costco ..when I touch it up it looks too glossy.. it doesnt blend in & I didn’t want to have to repaint the entire picture,do you know how to get the gloss out or what options for products to use instead of having to paint the entire picture..use an ink?

    • @rachelparkervarner
      @rachelparkervarner  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      What kind of paint did you use? I paint with professional quality acrylic paint and it works well my canvas prints.

      You might also try adding matte medium to your acrylic paint.

    I was just wondering why you would paint over this watercolor print?

    • @rachelparkervarner
      @rachelparkervarner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's a hand embellished print. If you Google the term you will find more information! Thomas Kinkade sold a lot of them for example.

    If you are painting 90% or more on the print an. If it’s not the original painting and yet it is changed and it’s 90% paint wouldn’t that be a new painting?
