I am constantly learning from this man i wish i would have went to school for plastic surgery honestly. He is so informative. I am such a fan 100%, and Iam usually not a fan of no one!
Hello Dr. William, I was glad to hear this nurse mention the importance of wound care. I’m a nurse in CA, I worked 16 years in SICU, 2 years in the OR working with surgeons doing mastectomies, and breast reconstruction d/t cancer. Currently working in Oncology where I learned about the lack of available certified Lymphedema Therapists So, I became a CLT therapist and also a certified massage therapist. I’m working on starting my business providing lymphatic massage post plastic surgery and lymphedema therapy for cancer patients. Thank you for this video.
You are one of the ones who really understands the importance of lymphatic massage. IT is just so hard to explain the importance of lymphatic massage. It is vital. Congratulations on your new career and we wish you the best of luck. Please email me about your practice at drwilliammiami@icloud.com
I love this episode.. I am a NURSE, I just had BBL 1 week ago today and have been brainstorming how I can make this process more smooth for patients after surgery. I have already started my research on Manual Lymphatic drainage massage certification. Thank you for this episode.
Love that Candy came in from Australia 🇦🇺 you can tell she is passionate and caring and interesting!!! Great show!!! Love my OGEE faja Candy approved!!!
I was happily cruising along after my Bbl until Day 3. I woke up with my body trying to burst free from my Faja. Areas not covered by Faja like the armpits were bulging. Lipo’d areas were warm and extra sore that day. Definitely day 3 was worst for me.
Dr Williams we are going to need her to open a office in Miami. Im going to need her when i come to you in the spring next year gor my 360 lipo. Im so exciting!
Excellent episode! Kandy is a gem! I'm so sad she's so far away. My sx w/ Dr William is coming up next month and I'd love nothing more than to be cared for in her facility. The take away for me is now ensuring that the massages I book are REAL lymphatic drainage instead of just some plain soft gentle massage. I'm very concerned about the capabilities of the "nurses" in Miami to provide what's needed and how to determine who's actually worth the money!
S/P lipo and the massages done properly are extremely important and the relief is immediate. However most are not performing true lymphatic massages and don’t understand the lymphatic system.
I enjoyed this podcast so much, the nurse is so passionate, I really want to get a TT an bbl done with Dr williams it would be a dream come through, also wish I could go to Sydney to experience the aftercare with Candy
Kandy embodies the word passion. She loves her work and pours all of her energy into it. She is really special and teaches us all. It was wonderful having her on the Podcast.
Wow this is so awesome !!!! Thanks doc , for allowing the nurses to talk about ways of complementing cosmetic surgery. Just started my own nurse concierge post op Buisness and some of these doctors out here in Phila don’t want to hear it !!!! Time to change that mindset 😊
I have taught many, many nurses, nursing students, PA students, residents, medical students over the years. BUT I HAVE LEARNED FROM MANY, MANY OF THEM! Medicine is such a huge field and we all have different experiences--sharing this information is how we all get better and patients get better care. No one should be too proud to listen to other ways of doing things. Kandy taught me a lot! Don't give up the fight! Educate, educate, educate.
It would be nice to have a small demo of lymphatic message so after the initial 5 or so sessions if person cannot have more massages maybe because they are from the area, once they go back home, massages might not avaliable maybe someone else can help them with some massages.
The way she describes the feeling of the massage makes me think of how painful engorged breasts are and how amazing it feels when the baby finally latches on correctly.
Can we get an example of what a lymphatic drainage massage should look like post bbl surgery? Should the buttock be included in the massage at any point during the massage sessions or is that a no go zone? Would also love to have that example outline of what we can be doing ourselves at home. Like how to use a roller, how to massage ourselves, how to stretch ourselves, how to exercise? Thank you! Love listening, so much information!
Omg--I am working on all of this! There is so much to know about the recovery phase of plastic surgery but we focus on the surgery. It will take a couple of months still but all of these things are in the works.
This podcast was a knockout 🥊🙌🏾 Thank you Dr. William for bringing on Kandy, she is a gem! Learned a lot! Excited to see you and your team create a “how to” video on self lymphatic massage (roller too I hope) and BBL stretches!! 2 ?’s: 1. I thought that after a BBL you were supposed to remain in bed and “rest” so how soon after a BBL can you start walking around? 2. Regarding your Ogee faja- do I measure my current body and order one size smaller to allow for post BBL body change?
La señora Candy podrá hacer algún entrenamiento online para terapistas de masaje, acá en Miami necesitamos más capacitación en este tema del drenaje linfático. Saludos dr William, con usted he aprendido mucho. Dios lo bendiga siempre.
You are excluded! No family allowed! 😂 But...you have an amazing sister!!! We all just love Kandy--her passion, her knowledge, her experience--it truly was an honor having her on the podcast. And we loved the Pineapple lumps and the Tim Tams that she brought. Vegemite...not quite as much.
That's where Kandy and I disagree--we still use foams and boards here with The Ogee Faja. I recommend using the foams and the boards with The Ogee Faja for a month after surgery.
You can return to work as soon as you feel comfortable enough to carry out your duties. Only issue is no sitting for 2 weeks and then the next two weeks you can sit on a bbl pillow.
@drwilliammiami I bought your Ogee Faja. I love it!! 2 things that need some tweak the claps aren’t as strong as the Colombian one I have. 2. Is there any way to make the lower abdomen area more compressed?
Thank you for your input about the clasps! Much appreciated. I don't want more compression in the abdomen than what the Ogee Faja has. The Ogee Faja is to support the surgery but you can't compress your way to a good result. It happens in the operating room. Too much compression can create problems.
@@DrWilliamMiami thank you for responding. After wearing for a week. It may be bc I’m petite and but the straps dig in my arm pits. I put some blister bandaids (that are cushioned) so it doesn’t make it as red 🫤
Think of it this way. If someone strikes you finger with a hammer it will hurt. If you take a pain pill first and then someone hits you with the hammer--it still hurts.
I’m 7 days post vaser lipo op, can I do some kind of linfo massage by my self ? in witch direction should I drain the linf if my stomach is very swollen now? thanks For what you are doing, all of you
Yes you can. IF you use the Ogee Roller on high vibration and very gentle touch you move it from high in your abdomen towards your groin--only move it one direction with very gentle pressure on high vibration it will act like a manual lymphatic drainage tool. Here is a link to the Roller: ogeerecovery.com/collections/ogee-roller
I usually recommend a faja for 3 months after surgery and then you can wear it as a shape wear garment under dresses if you would like but just for special events for example.
Is 10 post op too soon to be really tight on the waist after 360 lipo and bbl. Tight but breathable for someone whos been using faja growing up. Im just afraid it might be to tight to soon?
I'm scheduled for lipo360/breast reduction but I feel like I will be told I'm not a gd candidate for lipo360 but TT instead so could I switch my procedure to a mommy maker but with a reduction instead of the normal breast lift
This was great. Thank you 🙏🏾

We agree! She is wonderful. So smart, knowledgable and her recovery house is second to none.
Dr. William needs to make an ASMR channel. I love his voice.
That is hilarious!! I do love me some ASMR. Like when they peel the slime off of the microphone!

Day 3 after surgery is the peak of swelling regardless of the type of surgery you have.

Great informative pod cast 👏
AWESOME NURSE AND WE NEED MORE OF YOU !
The way she describes the feeling of the massage makes me think of how painful engorged breasts are and how amazing it feels when the baby finally latches on correctly.
After lipo that is exactly what it feels like plus some other extra sensations that’s aren’t fun, like itching from the nerves.

Very Interesting!!!
This was great information- I’m P/O 3weeks today - it would be good to know how myofascial massages are combined with lymphatic massages.
Great suggestion!

yes we are working on adding this to our instructions.

Question , before I get my bbl surgery do you recommend getting lymphatic massages before the surgery?
Only after surgery.
Hey I’m scheduled to have lipo360 and bbl on September 6. I am a police officer what is my recover time to return to work?
You can return to work as soon as you feel comfortable enough to carry out your duties. Only issue is no sitting for 2 weeks and then the next two weeks you can sit on a bbl pillow.

I'm sorry to hear that. There is an Ogee Faja with arms and I think some patients prefer it because it does away with the straps.
Do you recommend some sort of pain medication to take b4 getting your lymphatic massage?

Is it still good to use the Fajas after 10 months of BBL & tummy tuck?!

I had the same issue and I went with my gut. Do not switch into the smaller faja too soon.
Hi im wanting to order a ogfaja. how do I get one?
You can find them at www.ogeefaja.com
I’m 3 weeks post op. Is it too late now? I have lumps 😢
I would use the FibroGuard now.
How do you feel about ultrasonic cavitation radiofrequency and or red light therapy post op for fibrosis and skin tightening??
I am not a big believer in skin tightening machines as they produce more scaring.
Do she have a TH-cam channel
