You could buy curtains that have a blackout panel on them. Keep them shut during the daytime when you aren't in your room/times of day when sun shines brightest into your room. It will really keep room cooler..

I moved to a small room assisted living an store a lot in storagtch in a close by me unit. I'm warn out for new things go in bedroom,older bits go in storagtch eg books,notebooks,folders not needed. Staff support kind to help me organize my bedroom. Saw old out of date mints,sweets but gross as well. I was untidy in my room an been here 2 years an gotta be more organized,tidy. I am not tidy he,he.
It’s funny that people assume Ivy League dorms are gonna be fancy and plush. But they’re not! No window screens and no AC are common things. Also having to go to the basement of your dorm to get to the bathroom.
